OK LKD...but maybe you should take the time to also point out the trance music that you do like, so we get an idea of what Trance music your comparing it to.

And if I know you....there was something about this ferry set that you did like...but your like...sooo ashamed to admit it. So cough it up dood. You can't get anything past me and you now it

el kay dee LOL man than please tell me what you consider GOOD trance?

Ferry is as trance as it gets. Unless you're one of these hypnotic freaks from the mid 90's who hates Everything since then

and skipper STFU already. People have different tastes. I am sick and tired of hearing you trash trance in every single post. Give it up already its getting old.

In a previous review, someone said that Carl Cox made himself some new fans. I am definately one them. I am still in awe.

Sarah: Nice chilling with you too, it was really fun. You definately have some great friends.

Nice meeting Kate Manus from Montreal too. That was a pleseant surprise. And yes, the Economist does rock.

well, melodic prog trance lately which u rarely find played by artists such as seaman, sasha, zabiela and the likes...

i used to be VERY into vocal and psy trance...also some tech trance... still listen to all the lovely old stuff, 2003 took a turn and as many have mentioned, since then trance has taken a very cookie cut twist that its SO predictable..u know exactly how many bars left before the breakdown, how long its gonna last, etc etc...even down to what the next note might be...

i was asked and so im telling....didnt want to say anything

I didn't catch a single minute of Ferry but last time I saw him it was awesome. We all have different tastes and that should be reflected in reviews.

+fucking1

I could be wrong.. but I am pretty sure she means moderate reviews so we don't have all the banter about wasting time ID'ing tracks, and oh well he doesn't suck because.. or whatever else people like to post in a REVIEW thread...

who cares if ppl like to ID tracks.. it happend during the night.. it was a track that was played in the night and someone happend to like it.. so it makes it part of a review.. stop bitching at each other in a review thread.. simple... have some respect.. and go make another thread about it then to join all of the other useless threads that are posted on this forum.. please!

I am glad to see that Carl Cox is making new fans here. This man is the legend and he will always be in my top three for DJs

yea carl did have me bopping my head but honestly, there were non tech moments in his set so i dont see why all the tech fans still stick to calling him a tech DJ

I agree....like any great DJ he has always been expanding his choice in the type of tracks he plays.

I never said it was!!

and I do know that reviews can be good or bad!

However, by moderating review threads I simply meant to keep the unnecessary stuff out of them ie. if someones wants track ID's who are u to tell them that its probably a better party (something along those lines) when a DJ throws down tracks that are unrecognizable bc he was using a cd!! and if u recognized what the DJ plays you might as well stay home and spin it urself...I'm sorry not all of us are DJ's and own tables and personally I could care less if the track is recognizable or not...as long as it creates a good vibe around me I appreciate it!

u could never really categorize cox but since he plays a lot of techno, people call him a techno dj. He actually got his start playing happy hardcore.

Really he plays everything from house to breaks to techno to prog and even a little trance sometimes.

Its the same way people try to categorize mark oliver as a trance dj when he plays everything as well.

share this experience with the rest of us TA's please

Newayz...I really feel I gotta say something when i read comments like this:

"i am SICK AND TIRED of hearing u guys cry about how this set was shit and blah blah...u didn't like it start a thread about MOST HATED SETS or something this is simply ridiculous!!!

can someone moderate the review threads PLEASE????"

I can't begin to say how shameful it is to read this. As TA's we should learn to respect and be more tolerant. I know we are not all perfect but we should all really work on this cuz we need to be more respectful to each other regardless

I think ravinjunkie has the right idea.
I'll have to look you up at the next event dood.

I said that^^^ bc there is a limit to everything and i don't see how/why its shameful to read it!! just like others on this forum i am also ONLY expressing my opinion

because trainspotters who are too worried about which song is coming on next are usually disappointed and it affects the vibe. If you are there to enjoy the moment and the appreciation of good music then it rubs off on everyone else.

Its also frustrating when there is so much good new music out there and many djs are forced to play tired old reruns to satisfy the vocal complainers. We shouldnt be paying a dj tens of thousands of dollars to play music that everyone already knows. Thats what the radio is for.

I'm not going to try and explain something that is blatantly obvious. But if you don't feel it is shameful then good for you.
