This has got to be the best wr duo since moss and carter. no doubt. there were rice/taylor, reed/lofton, irvin/harper, and etc .... but i think this duo boldin/fitzgerald could possibly be the best wr duo ever. I may sound like an idiot sounding like they are better than jerry rice, but i don't think there is any defense right now that is capable of shutting down both boldin and fitzgerald at the same time.

oh yeah and smith/mccaffery
burress/ward

Uhhhh.... Bruce & Holt. 2 hall of famers and the most explosive offense of the last 10 years. Plus Super Bowl rings. Show some respect!

Why is Brooks Bolinger still on the team and are the Jets seriously considering playing with 4QBs like I read the other day. If Brooks doesnt get cut put him on the practice squad why risk another posistion to have his sorry ass on the bench as a back/back/back up

Kevin Curtis will supplant Bruce this year

I think that is somewhat true. Bruce will still have a large role. Keep in mind, last year he was hurt and Curtis therefore played a lot more. He's 34 years old, he shouldn't be the #1 guy anymore. He's still top 10 all-time in receiving yards.

However, in reference to best tandems at WR, we are talking about at their peaks. The Rams were the only team to score 500+ pts for 3 straight seasons in history (1999-2001). That is why I think they deserve mention at WR....

The Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell Jags DUO were the shit back in the day...

Curtis will pull a Stokley, and won't do anything this year. He's white afterall...

they were awesome, and probably the reason why brunell's stock was risen so higher than anticipated, because smith and mccardell made brunell look good.

and Kevin Curtis is white ?!?!?!?! .. haha kidding . he's another Brandon Stokley in my opinion. Best white wide receiver imo is Ricky Proehl. Hands down.

Most boring Super Bowl? Are you smoking crack!!!!! It is always considered one of the top 2 Super Bowls of all time. The end of the game came down to one freaking yard. The 77 yard TD catch to put the Rams ahead then the amazing drive by McNair. One on 4th down and 22 yards. Plus the Titans coming back from down 0-16.

i might have worded it wrong but i meant if Proehl doesn't make that catch and the bucs go on to win and play the titans...that being the most boring super bowl

Dyson down at the 1 inch line = exciting

Ok, nevermind then. That NFC championship game was compelling with the amazing Rams offense vs. the amazing Bucs defense. It's etched in my brain, especially that Proehl catch.

Bucs won the Super Bowl later though so it's all good for both of us.

Posted by SlackerBoy9 on Aug-04-2006 02:20:

That Proehl catch was amazing,i mean that guy has come up big in so many games it is ridiculous.I really hope the Falcons don't get him to come out of retirement.
speaking of white receivers why does Joe Jurevicius get no love,he came up big with the Bucs and last year with the seahawks.best white receiver ever would be Largent or Tom Waddle

With Super Bowl 36 being the BEST SUPER BOWL OF ALL TIME of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but I don't even think 34 was one of the two best... Dyson got tackled by fletcher inside the 5 yard line, big deal, that makes it one of the two best????

Super Bowl 38 was much better than 36

36 wasn't really that exciting until the very end.

Super Bowl 34 was more of a ridiculous roller coaster ride, thus making it a much better game.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Aug-04-2006 04:39:

i think last year's super bowl was exciting .........

anyways, speaking of "white" wide receivers, my top list of white receivers after the steve largeant era is very short. they include:

ricky proehl
jow jurevicius(of course. he came up big when darrell jackson and bobby engram went down last year due to injuries)
tom waddle(as slacker hates proehl, i hate waddle, because he beat the saints on numerous occasions many times. lol)
ed mccaffery

You disgust me!

Dwight Clark was a very good WR, there were plenty of white WR's besides Steve Largent back in the day. lol

lol.. you should be gracious... EVERYONE ELSE(not in the northeast) in the country never gave us a shot, that's how much they respected the RAMS...

yeah... strong division... especially with the fins, Bills and JETS.... The Pats will win the division by 3 games over the fins!!!

Maroney looked awesome running the ball...guy is gonna be good for the pats if Dillon goes down this year

ya but rember no matter how well the pats are doing or how shitty the dolphiins are doing the dolphins totally own the pats esp. when playin at pro player stadium..

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Aug-12-2006 22:40:

I have high expectations for Miami, because they have Nick Saban, and Ronnie Brown is going to be running full time for the dolphins, rather than splitting carries with someone else. I expect them to win the division by at least 2 games, especially since they play 2 games in "cold weather" conditions (11/5 @ chicago and 12/17 @ buffalo). anything less than 1st place for them is a huge dissapointment from me.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Aug-12-2006 23:05:

Arizona scares the living hell out of me. They can make any top level defense look stupid on any given night, especially with Bryant Johnson (3rd wideout) emerging and stepping up. If Arizona's defense is decent (doesn't need to be top of the line. Just crack the top 15) and win the turnover battles (well with Kurt Warner, anything can happen. lol) , Arizona can go a long way.
