I'm factoring in the costs which one occasionally volunteeringly undertakes when they want to see a DJ.. or go to a specific party. Let's face it - not the best parties are always in Toronto, and as a result it requires more commission on your part to make attending those parties possible. So when I look at the $300?? I would spend for a weekend in New York City to see Paul Van Dyk vs. the $75 to see Tiesto (both parties which I would want to be at).. it doesn't really seem as much.

Yeah $75 is expensive in comparison, but so is the $20 bucks it costs me to park my fucking car in Toronto every weekend when in Hamilton I can park for free.

i don't really see what the big issue is with the ticket price. tiesto has definitely reached "rockstar" status to be able to charge "rockstar" prices. so when you compare this to the average rock concert ticket price, it comes out to around the same (AND A LOT LESS in some cases, see: coldplay). yet you get to hear tiesto for much longer than you would depeche mode for example.

i've been going to a lot of rock concerts lately cause thats what most of my friends are into - and when i tell them i pay 20$ average to see a dj spin all night they get jealous.

bitches b thankful yo

umm i dont think so
last year he was #1 and he charged less and played longer
its not about tiesto, its the promoters that are money hungry

Supply & Demand.

Given the original plans of having him at Circa (which has a lot less capacity than Docks) would mean that a $60 ticket (the other charges are taxes/fees) is within reason.

Now that it was moved to the Docks you can't exactly refund ppl who already bought tickets nor can you just drop the price on remaining sales (unfair to the early birds...)

Uh oh tickets are sold out...time for the frenzy to begin where all the people who were complaining about prices are going to be desperately looking for a way to get them at even higher prices muhahahahahahahaha

SO MANY comments since I was last online are right on the money, but MILOS hit it right on the head!! Here's the kicker for me...

I absolutely love the Toronto Maple Leafs... and there have been times when I have questioned my mental stability after buying tickets, face value or scalped, just to watch them lose...

On average, a game runs me three or four bills, and while I do enjoy myself, it cannot be compared to the venue I will find myself at on Sunday... I know they are not related in any way, but all I'm saying is I would be willing to spend that kind of money in a heartbeat to see a master of their craft...

When I hit an awesome party for 20 bucks give or take, I count myself very lucky. IMO Tiesto is a MONSTER of his craft, and I will continue to pay whatever the predetermined rate is to see him...

BTW, WE are gonna RIP IT UP on SUNDAY!! I'll be on the lookout for the familar faces of the site, and can't wait to party with you coolio's!!

LMAO, I won''t forget;;; I saw a vid from his second night in Vancouver, where sum random dude jumps on the stage, goes up and shakes Tijs' hand... funny thing is Tijs didn't seem to mind, bouncers looked angry, but it looked like the just warned the dude not to do it again... PRICELESS!!

Sorry about all the space I'm taking up but I asked a question on the Freedom roll-call, and I'm hoping for assistance in the matter so I'll ask here as well!!

I'm considering going to Freedom after Tijs finishes and was hoping someone can tell me what the latest time the doors are open till... I wouldn't want to buy a ticket, show up at 5 or 6 just to have the bouncer tell me the doors are closed... Thanks!!!

~peace

p.s. last post for the night,,, I promise!!!

Taking off for the weekend.

meaning no Tiesto for me

as much as i love tiesto and respect him and have enjoyed his gigs of the past, i can't make it to this one and i'm not gonna get out of the way and drive from Collingwood back just to see him and then go back.

enjoy it guys, he'll put on a show like every single time he was here!

everyone's in for a treat!!!

I guess I'll call GUV and see what they say... I signed up on sum list when I was at Decadence upon entry, but for sum peculiar reason I cannot remember if it was specifically for VIP entry or just event notification...
