Quote from David Duriez's myspace page...too funny...

"Dude French fucked me so hard, he lowered my IQ by 20 points! I have never seen him live before and he totally killed me, I almost passed out due to the bombs he was throwing. I just wanted to say that whoever missed this, missed having an orgasm on the dancefloor."
--KillaLady about Duriez playing at Footwork in Toronto

I witnessed Duriez light up Sonic in December 2006 alongside Guy Gerber (one of my highlights from last year), but did he play at Footwork in the recent past?

Alright, time for sling's contribution to the thread. These are my favourite seris of Deep Dish set's that i'm posting. It's 2 set's split up in two parts each for Digweeds Kiss 100. Don't really know what to say about these sets other than they are what caused me to truly gain an appreciation for this genre.

Nice one. DL'ing

(Personally though, I think the best radio mix done by the Dish will always be their 1998 Essential Mix.)

ps. fix the link for sets 2 and 3. You have "http" written twice.

fix

The 98' EM is definately up there for me as well....but it doesn't do it for me like 2000' Kiss 100's do. The first part of the 2000 Kiss 100 was the first set that I heard that completely blew me away....still does to this day.

Think you could upload the 98' EM...it's been a while since i've listened to it and the set fell victim to a shitty HD of mine a while back.

Sweeeeeet ass mix from Chris Martin via Dirtybird Records (which was co-founded by Barclay Crenshaw, aka Claude VonStroke)...definitely some fun stuff coming out of the dirty dirty dirtybird...

Not only one of the best WMC sets, but one of the best sets to be found over the last year or so. The set is honestly legendary. It completely boggles my mind.

Probably my fav. Cattaneo set. Starts off a bit tribalish, then to some happy prog then some banging prog later on. Overall a feel good set jammed packed with tunes.

Not really sure when this set is from, or how it came about, but found it on the 'net a couple months ago and only decided to listen to it today. Fits perfectly with the warming weather, so if anyone is looking for some nice house to chill to on the patio out in the sun, give this a listen.

I agree 100%. I loved this set.

OK, so check this out...

Daft Punk - Live @ Twilo (NYC) - Part 1 - 16-10-1998

[[ LINK REMOVED ]]

Set Description...

"...Back in 1998, Daft Punk played an amazing set at then-superclub Twilo, alongside Cassius. This was the height of the French House mania (even in the States), and a lineup like that was not to be missed. Neil Aline organized the whole thing together with the Respect is Burning team in Paris.

A legendary night I snuck in even though I was too young..shhh with a legendary group of performers. I remember sitting by the side bar next to the DJ booth in Twilo with my friend getting our picture taken by, who else, the guy that now does lastnightsparty.com.

So my friend had access to Dafts incredible set straight from the source. And there were only a few copies of this in the world

Till now."

Comment...

"Oh my! The Intergalactic (Daft Punk remix) MP3 I got back in the early Napster days! Also known as Alan Braxe - Vertigo (Thomas Bangalter mix) mixed with Intergalactic. Dont know who did it, but theyre probably playing this white label.

Interesting how they would mix in Intergalactic like this and then DJ Sneak vs. Le Knight Club reuses the Intergalactic sample ever-so-subtly for Intergalactik Disco on Crydamoure.

Also that first track is haunting me. I know I have a copy of it somewhere

The last track is, of course, Lil Louiss French Kiss, the first house track to hit #1 on dance charts back in 1989. There is a great paper deconstructing French Kiss that I used for my little house music research project in school, but they took my school website down so Ill have to hunt around for the link."
