AFAIK Ultra canceled Kaskade's set yesterday and replaced him with Timbaland.
Had fun ,Markus,ATB,Above and Armin were great!Alot of people. Very cool @ Carl coxs stage too.
Woooooooooohooo! Had lots of fun both days. I met drEamer on Friday
on the downside, for the first time in 5 years I got a sunburn
I would have to say that being my 6th Ultra or so, this had the best production for every stage. THe main stage actually had a bar cover finally that looked good, rather then simple bars visible. It looked like a real stage. The tents were off the wall. Sound worked great - not sure if its the same sound as last year but it sounded good - though some djs in main stage loved their bass and raising it that high killed ears. I mean to where people went from the fist pump to the ear clog. Overall, Ultra was very successful both days despite the economy and what not. Also stages were themed well. Even main stage finally. Friday had a good flow and saturday as well. It wasnt trance with house with electro, etc. It had some planning rather then booking dates scattered to match big names.
My review on artists - Prodigy put me to sleep. 2 years ago they were the highlight i thought and this time i felt no passion or energy. Markus, Armin and PVD destroyed massively for the trance fans. Above and Beyond didnt do it for me and neither did ATB (though he ended better then he started). Pendulum kicked ass live - not much new rock and more older pendulum sounds. Swedish house mafia --- AGAIN PLEASE! Sick of Rabbit in the Moon - same crap as always. BT with Jes and the sound cutting off while she kept singing was PRICELESS.
One thing i did enjoy that seems to get bigger and bigger in the states is the live feature - having vocals and what not. This adds so much and glad Ultra is willing to pay for this instead of just the standard dj set.
My thoughts on Ultra:
Got there Friday around 530. Wandered around for a bit and my friend had to leave early (730) because of his sick wife. I checked out BT and it was good, but it took so long to set up he only got to play 4 3/4 songs before they cut the sound off. Thought that was weird since everyone else seemed to go over all night. Went from that to Surkin, who dropped a crazy awesome set for the next hour. Then made my way over to Pendulum. Crazy fun there. Surkin and Pendulum made my Friday. Checked out Swedish House Mafia and Benassi and both were killing their tent. That place was about 120degrees. I left shortly after to rest up to go out...
Saturday we got there at 1:30 to catch The Presets and they didn't disappoint. I saw them a few years back in Ybor and they have really improved their live sound. After dancing through their set we were completely sweaty and gross. Went over to the main stage (for the first time) for Infected Mushroom and they were good as always. Wandered around and waited for Cut Copy, who were really good and another great live act. After that the Bloody Beetroots went nuts and blew up the energy. holy cow, they are crazy. Boys Noize came and turned out an amazing set and had the whole (large) crowd really pumped. That was a sight to see. After that we didn't do much, wandered around some more, checked out Armin while we ate something (I forgot how crazy everyone is for him) and left around 830, completely covered in dirt and sweat. The wind really blew a lot of dirt around.
Kind of funny the only act on the main stage I actually watched was Infected Mushroom.
I went Saturday, had a pretty wicked time apart from the Prodg taking half an hour to come on, and then FUCKING TIMBALAND coming on after. What a serious crock of shit. This ruined the whole buzz and put me in such a bad mood I just went back to the hostel after instead of going out. Think next year I'll be in the Carl Cox tent all day.
I only went on Friday from about 7 and it was cool to experience it but that'll be my last time at it. I managed to catch Guetta, Deadmau5 and Tiesto and they were all really good. The sound system kinda sucked for the mainstage. The most surprising thing for me was that there WASN'T A SINGLE SECURITY SEARCH for anybody. How you can have that many people in one place and allow them to bring anything they want in is a bit crazy haha
pretty much the Carl cox tent is where it's at lol...
where can i download the set for UMF11...i'm dying to hear Tiesto set.
I don't need to write a huge report.
all I have to say is that Boys Noize threw down the hardest and most crazy set, next the Bloody Beetroots who destroyed both days of Ultra.
the end.

I thought Ultra was filled with mostly 18-22 year old kids/teenagers and I felt out of place.
I had a decent time but would not go again since 12 hours of being outside kills my weekend.
I had a really good Time at Ultra on Friday. I though everything was really planned out nicely when I walked in. You could almost clearly see each tent or stage as shown n the little map. Everyone went on that I wanted to see pretty close to on time. And it was an older crowd.
Saturday, Ultra was wayyyyyyyy to packed! I have been to every Ultra and this one was the most packed I had ever seen it. I kept trying to go to different stages to see what was going on and I swear I had to move at a snails pace because there were that many people. I really didnt like the crowd on Saturday. Someone mentioned the 18 year olds, try younger then that. There were some muuuuch younger kids there. I know that I didnt want to see half of the things they were doing. I think I will pass on Ultra Saturday next year as well.
lmao w/ppl with pacifier.
i went on friday and sold the saturday ticket....but i think i wont be going at all next year unless im just blown away with the lineup
My husband and I were in the grass waiting for Prodigy, and we looked over at these kids rolled up in a ball (sleeping) all F*ed up sweating like pigs for the whole set! Who does that???
