Let me clear it up for you:

We males are always at risk of being cuckolded (tricked) into raising another man's child. So you're damn right we have evolved to be very particular about paternity. Paternity is a huge deal to us, and we're gonna look at it carefully.

the ego can be a terribly limiting thing for a man.

Men without egos don't reproduce as well, unfortunately

everyone has an ego. it's whether or not you're able to maintain a healthy balance of it or not.
