Interesting. I wonder who will be on the bill for that. Les Nuits Sonores festival is one of the best festivals I've ever been to.

Congrats to our TAs, good job guys.

Other than that, I may repeat myself, but they are trying very hard to outdo themselves booking the most obscure djs/artists out there.

Great success for that department, other than that fail.

It's my second time playing at piknic, the last time was in august 2007 with Creator,Maus & Laflche at Jardins les Floralies, a insane sunny day!

I'm so excited about that gig! I started to play in the 90's with Don't laugh & Higher State Of Consciousness tracks! So It really means something for me!

Congrats to all dj's friends!

Posted by zeKsg on May-05-2010 21:30:

Congrats to the locals ofcourse, but there are only a handful of piknics I would really want to attend this year...

besides ritch/lio/wink/ and a few locals nothing I really want to see that much.

Posted by Vermz on May-05-2010 21:50:

obscure
very obscure
grats to the mtlers go habs go

Posted by Ravemontreal on May-05-2010 22:16:

Congrats to all the hard working locals, they deserve to be there and it's always very nice to be part of the Piknic adventure. Glad to see Mateo Murphy is also back in the spotlight.

If Green Velvet does a live act, you are in for a real treat. It was pure madness when he did it at Rm16 or 17 (don't remember)

I really don't see how you can yawn with bookings like that. You guys can be pretty jadded.

Plenty of locals, some very known names (velvet, misstress, wink), some new discoveries... some are just impossible to please.

Posted by Marcus007 on May-05-2010 22:25:

I <3 oxia but he was just here
I <3 carlo lio but he was just here... TWICE

props to the mtl locals but other than them and wink/misstress/ritch I'm not blown away

good piknic line-up.. just not ground breaking... AND NO CREATOR MAKES ME SAD.

but props to maher, greg, hakim, green & lateez, xcube and mr. bender... these parties are gonna be ROCKING!

where is stimming?
where is ritchie?
where is villalobos?
where is FM radio gods?
where is joris voorn?
where is danny howell?
where is radioslave?
where is roman tapia?
where is giacamotto?
where is trentemoller?
where is gui boratto?
where is hector couto?

Posted by jester on May-05-2010 22:41:

I hope next year we will see Pole Folder. Honestly he would fit right into Piknic or Igloofest

I'll try and make it to most of these days. If not I'll for sure try and record them without any problems

I think we have a tendacy to always focus on who is NOT there rather than be blessed with what we have.

By the end of the summer, you will hear in Montreal Velvet, Wink, Misstress, Lawler, Liebing, Fanicuilli, Sasha, Timo Maas, Minilogue, Oxia, Ritch, Popof, Sanhaji, Bau, Howell (he will be at Stereo) and a bunch of the hardest working locals and DJs you haven't heard before....

I think it's pretty fucking impressive and makes up for the list of people that are NOT there. You will probably be out of breath and missing 50% of those shows. Props to Piknic for not booking all the obvious names and bring some fresh names.

I wonder if this change in line-up format and the new alcohol policy has anything to do with Piknik's new-found affiliation with Bande Part (re: government subsidies and thus influence on decision making).

I know there aren't that many dubstep fans around here but the Mary Anne Hobbs/Lazer Sword/Roska day is massive. I'm very excited for that.

Posted by KrinKer on May-06-2010 00:27:

it's during Osheaga week-end ... so you'll need to pay 120$ to see that day :P

Posted by Brian Blanc on May-06-2010 00:36:

What, no Sven or Hawtin?

I am looking forward to Piknic though

Posted by Marcus007 on May-06-2010 00:36:

That's the day that really stands out to me as well..

On the whole, not that impressed with the line up. I'm gonna go see Bassnectar on July 18. Definitely gonna see Popof too.

I also think the line up is backheavy, all the good sets seem to be in late august and september.. maybe that's just my liking.

Posted by Dj Nacht on May-06-2010 01:23:

lineup was sad at first but the more I look at it, the better it gets

quick question... why is Misstress a good thing?
