I like the Akkord one, but I'm not the biggest fan - they're definitely not as good as the Pedestrian Pirate remix of Mountains, and neither touches the original. I figured I should just buy it anyways, though, when I was buying the new EP, what with shipping costs being flat and to keep my collection up-to-date.

Hah, this CD. Always saw it sitting on shelves in all the local shops. Was kinda tempted to check it out when I was making my first forays into ambient's world (so many names I don't know of!), but that cover, man. That cover.

I tend to spontaneously go for anything that involves Bedouin Ascent, but if I hadn't randomly checked this on Spotify earlier, I probably wouldn't have given it a second look either with that kind of artwork. Well worth it when it was so dirt cheap, though. Despite all the tribal chanting and the odd sitar, which initially set off a few world music noodling alarm bells, the tracks by Scanner, Youth and Suns Of Arqa are all very hypnotic downtempo goodness.

Definitely names you can trust with good music on there, including Timeshard, Zion Train, and even Astralasia (way back when). If you didn't know these guys though, you'd swear this CD would be filled with tacky New Age, Deep Forest knock-offs.
