Ugh...I don't want to go to work tomorrow, sigh.

Oh well, can't win them all can you?

I just hope I can put down Jurassic Park before i finish the whole thing and end up being up all night, lol.

I think my next batch of books to re-read/read is going to be Crichton stuff. He does write a damn fine story that is both intellectually stimulating and good narrative.

I want to take this moment to thank you all for not making fun of my hairdo in the last picture I posted

MrS

Posted by Mebot on Dec-15-2003 05:01:

I didnt know you were reading JP! its a great book, much better than the movie IMO, coz theres a lot more depth.. Same with the Lost World. Good book but the movie was so-so

I agree Crichton is a very Prolific writer, Rising Sun, The Andromeda Strain, Eaters of The Dead, and Sphere are all great novels.

I'm currently reading another Robert McCammon novel now. McCammon is one of my top 5 favourite novelists

hahaah ur hair looks funny in that picture

Stupid me and my stupid reading habits

wait so why did u stay up so late reading if u have work tomorrow..er today?

U lose track of time?

Posted by Mebot on Dec-15-2003 09:27:

I went back and read the first couple pages of this thread. lol

i must admit i never really read much past the first page, because frankly i didnt have time to sift through the voluminous amount of posts.. but since i was bored tonite i decided to read the first couple pages.

i must say they're quite entertaining..especially orbax's drunk scribbling and the part about OverTheTop.

Mr S have u ever seen Over The Edge? its almost a cult film, tho i dont think too many people have seen it. its a hokey story line, but the music in it is bad ass.

Posted by daffodil on Dec-15-2003 21:58:

my roommate just left the one i share a bedroom with. so we had to say our real goodbye because when she comes back to school in january, i obviously won't be here. the funny thing is she's visiting me in new york before she comes back to school. being a bit dramatic. now i have nothing to do because my other two roommates have tests tomorrow.

i started doing interviews for my final story (due tomorrow. yeah, i know.) and can't get in touch with the people i need. looks like i'll be pulling the flu card on this one!

Posted by Mebot on Dec-15-2003 23:16:

OMG i have the worst case of procrastination right now!!

jeebuz! its such an easy task and its not even due till tomorrow night but still im having such a hard time not doing it!

look im even posting right when i should be writing.

BLAHARRDSDAAJAFOWFT!!!

Posted by daffodil on Dec-15-2003 23:22:

good work mebot, i'm proud!

i found an old mix cd that has all this music from high school on it. might be one of the best cds i've ever made. bunch of chill third eye blind songs (i adore 3eb), glycerine, some barenaked ladies. i'm dying just listening to it. so good to hear 3eb again, i miss those cds... i might even have to buy them again.

Posted by MrSquirrel on Dec-15-2003 23:33:

Go do your homework children

I was looking at your post above me here daff, and I must say that you have, once again, made me feel old. I don't think third eye blind had even released anything when I was in high school and the barenaked ladies (while I had heard of them) were not something that 99.99% of the american population had heard of.

But I guess, looking back at the time frame, it makes sense since I was in college when you were in high school.

Ya Mebot...I ended up finishing the book like I said I was going to avoid doing at all costs.

Never seen Over the Edge though (as you noticed from your perusal of early banshee land) Over the Top was one of my favorite movies for a while.

I am going to go watch the news.

would you look at that, mebot is my soulmate! i love that song so insanely much, it's my favorite 3eb song. one of my favorites ever. background is another beauty. you can listen to clips at www.3eb.com oh my god i'm such a nerd.

for your enjoyment:
summer time and the wind is blowing outside
in lower chelsea and i don't know
what i'm doing in this city
the sun is always in my eyes
it crashes through the windows
and i'm sleeping on the couch
when i came to visit you
that's when i knew
that i could never have you
i knew that before you did
still i'm feeling stupid.
and there's this burning
like there's always been
i've never been so alone
and i've never been so alive.

visions of you on a motorcycle driveby
the cigarette ash flies in your eyes and you don't mind
you smile
and say the world it doesn't fit with you
i don't believe you you're so serene
careening through the universe your axis on a tilt
you're guiltless and free
i hope you take a piece of me with you

and there's things i would like to do
that you don't believe in
i would like to build something
but you'll never see it happen
and there's this burning
just like there's always been
i've never been so alone
and i've, i've never been so alive.

where's the soul, i want to know
new york city's evil the surface is everything
but i could never do that
someone would see through that
and this is the last time we'll be friends again
i'll get over you and you'll wonder who i am
and there's this burning just like there's always been
i've never been so alone alone and i've, i've never been so alive.

i go home to the coast it starts to rain
i paddle out on the water, alone.
taste the salt and taste the pain i'm not thinking of you again.
summer dies and swells rise, the sun goes down in my eyes
see this rolling wave
darkly coming to take me away.
and i've never been so alone and i've never been so alive.

hehe teenyboppers. the best part is when a mosh pit opens up and we push em in One year me and my friends grabbed a huge blanket and had girls come on and we'd shake the blanket and make them fly in the air. One girl, she was so tiny, flew like 20 feet in the air and did a double sommersault in air. it was pretty cool. we got on the jumbotron for that one !

I did not say I was going to the far pasture. It is too long a walk.

Besides, without me there would not be 2700+ replies. There would only be 2100+

I almost have more posts in this thread than in all of my non COR posts. And I know daff has more in here than her official total.

seriously.. supposed to be writing this essay.. what do i do? Crack a beer and start drinking. lol

dammit its pathetic. but its ok b/c alcohol kills brain cells much in the same way predators kill prey. They only go after the weak or dying prey. So alcohol kills my weak brain cells, leaving my brain a more efficient and precise powerhouse
