well i dont know if its actually called a hurricane, it was given to me as a gift. the hurricane is th name taht i gave to it. however it coud definitly stand up to a drop kicking. it probably weighs about 7 or 8 pounds. the glass is handblown pyrex approx 3/4 of an inch thick. its got a little mushroom logo on the bottom on the base that was stanped into the glass while it was still hot. someone told me that the mushroom is the logo for a comapny called chaos.

ive seen lots of kock-offs that look similar and i know for a fact that mine is authentic, whatever it is.

its been through hell and back ith me. its been dropped, thrown around, knocked over, and sat on i dont even know how many times and never a nick on it. the only problem ive ever had was that the stem broke once (the little piece that the slider goes into) but that was an easy fix.

its a beautiful piece thta i have become rather attached to, and it has certainly proven its strength considering how many pieces ive broken in the past.

really expensive, has a lotta "expert" features, features that you wont use til you're really advanced. so if you're just starting out i guess the 1000s will do just fine. I'm a newb and a lot of the features are just useless to me.

Sony SSMB250H... Bit of a mouthful.
I think they're ace, they do me just fine. But to be honest all the speakers sound pretty much the same to me.

Only place I can find them online is Hard To Find Records - Although they don't have much information.
I checked them out in a HiFi specialists near to where I work.

EDIT: I got them in a bundle with the Amp and the wall brackets are seperate - got them out of Argos lol.

Love how I gave a false impression of it being organised... I didn't show anything below the turntables 'cos it's an absolute state... Receipts, slum, DVD's, CD's and house keys lying around. (Not got much vinyl yet)
