the counterweight for the technics tonearm is set completely wrong. you flipped the weight backwards. this will cause massive amounts of vinyl burn and poor dynamic range, not to mention needles will wear out faster.

let me know if you need any help in setting up your turntables.

Whew, I thing that covers it. In regards to anti-skate Also commonly misunderstood. If you keep in mind that records were not intended to played in the reverse direction. Under normal hi-fi use anti- skate counteracts the rotatating records tendency to make the stylus "skate" towards the label by applyng an equal and opposite force towards the outer edge. So if you had a record w/ no grooves, theoretically the stylus would not move. However, backcuieng and scratching creates a force towards the outer edge (ie reverse play-reverse force), so if you add in the antiskate force towards the outer edge, the stylus is more likely to skip. Sooooo, if you backcue/spin or scratch , you should have antiskate set to ZERO. This keeps an equal pressure on both walls of a stereo groove. In normal play direction the heavier tracking forces used by DJ carts makes the antiskate less of a influence that it does in hi-fi use where typical tracking forces are 1 1/2 grams vs 3 1/2 f/DJ carts. Hope this helped.

dude, those b52 matrix 1000 and 2000 setups really rock hard. they arent as "crisp" as the mackies but for the money, they just cant be beat. i also have the matrix 1000 that i use for small gigs and i absolutly LOVE it.

Hmm, good to know, I am seriously considering them, will sure kick the shit out of my consumer grade kenwoods anyway.

33s actually.. i like em! they get the job done, can't scratch on em, looping is shit, but for plain old mixing, they are fine. i like the feel of the jog wheel and the pitch bend buttons.

of course, the CDJ1000s piss all over them, but each one costs double what the dual deck costs!

What genres do you mostly spin, do you scratch a bit or do those carts and tts work good for you?

I mainly spin techno these days but i still like to spin trance and harder variations of it... I scratch and do a fair bit of tablism and personally think there the better carts for scratching than anything else (The females dig the pink too. )

I have the st-150's because i prefer them over every other deck thats out and i got them for a killer price... I was doing the deck search a while back and am still very pleased with my decision there awesome.
