I wouldn't count on Paul playing anymore than 3 hours if we're lucky, and it will most likely be right around 2 hours. Fucking promoters around here feel the need to have a shit ton of openers, unlike gigs in decent cities.
But seriously, you really shouldn't be able to tell when the track changes, that's a characteristic of good mixing. And if they all sound the same to you, that probably means that they are similar sounding tracks, which is another sign of a good dj, keeping a flow and a good track selection.

DjGrl2000: just out of curiosity, what did you mean by "no bullshit from anyone" ? what kinda normal bullshit do you have to deal with there?

no, no no, that's not what I meant. Of course when they actually change the song you shouldn't be able to tell, what I meant was there is no variety. All of the songs sound the same. Exactly the same for the most part. Last night it was like that. That's why I like PVD, and Tiesto so much. Their shit doesn't sound like that. For me, I like variety, meaning singing and other things. not just the same beat with nothing interesting added to spice it up.
What I mean by no bullshit I meant that everyone was cool and not all stuck up and snotty like alot of them usually act when i go. Last night was 21 and over though so maybe that made the difference I don't know.

Hell yeah, I much prefer it when its 21+ unfortunately they almost always have it as 18+ for the big names (more people means more money), its been awhile since I've been to the church on a saturday, cuz work usually gets in the way, but whats the cover? James Zabiela is spinnin there next sat, and I think I'm gonna skip work to go. . . .

The cover when i went saturday night was 15 bucks but thats because there was a special event going on. i think it's usually 5 to 10 bucks depending on what time you get there.
I'm wondering what the age limit will be at the PVD show since it's at the fillmore and not the church. It didnt say on the flyer.

As far as the fillmore PvD show is concerned, I'm not sure, but all the times I've been there, the shows been 16+, so who knows!?!?

As far as I know there isn't a dress code for the church. It runs the gambit for what people wear, scantily clad girls, to huge baggy jeans, to cyber, to normal clothes (jeans and tshirts), I'm pretty sure that you can even wear hats. I usually wear kahkis and a polo, or jeans and a polo, nothin to special

It was called the Porn Star Ball, and it was one of the best parties I'v ever been to. The djs that were there were Special guest Donald Glaude...and locals jonas Tempel, Ty Tek, and Steve-O. They had a costume contest for $1000 bucks and it turned out to be a lingerie show. Crazy night! That's why it was 15 bucks. It sucks that The Church rarely updates their site but I received a flyer from them about the Armin Van Buuren show. So at least that's a go.
When did the Church get go-go dancers? I'v never seen them there before but they had a few girls on saturday night.
As far as dress code goes, when I went on saturday there was a guy wearing a jersey and a hat sideways so it doesn't seem like the dress code is very strict at all.

Bah they've had em for awhile, nothin special imo. Did they have that one girl suspended in the air again, thats pretty damn lame too. If they were smart, they'd send one or two employee's around the conntry (and world) for that matter to let em check out other clubs and then bring the best of all of em to the chuch, I don't care how much it would cost, it would go a long way for the place.
And as far as the big names, I'm not worried bout the chuch listing em on its website, cuz I can get the info elsewhere, I wanna know about the lesser name djs that come to town who are promising.

Naaa, they didn't have a chick suspended in the air. plus, all but two of those dancers were big time bitches when it came to trying to talk to them. I guess being a go-go dancer can make you a snot.

Thank god that girl isn't there anymore. She had toe the size of Nebraska, plus everyone was so mystified by a lady on a rope that had to block the entire dancefloor...
Either that or glowsticks. People here act like they've never seen a pair, and make a huge circle around the person so it blocks the floor to. Come on people
I don't think the Church really cares how they compare to others, they're really just taking over Vinyl until it's rebuilt as the edm enthusiest's club. The largest part that comes to mind is just how damn far the dj is from the floor, where at vinyl they could really interact with the crowd, and hopefully they'll keep that the same throughout the remodel. I think the concept of having a club in a church sounds much better than the reality we have, it could be alot better. And it seems with the current renovations they're really turning it into a place for the average "I gotta get some ass tonight" joe who couldn't give less of a shit about the music...
HURRY UP AND FINISH VINYL ALREADY, AND BRING BACK SOMA WHILE WE'RE AT IT!!!!
