It's good, really good, but i think talented people can easily mix like you, just live with real turntables and i don't think it's hard at all to mix like this using PCDJ software if you've got a good ear and some skills.

I didn't think it was that good!!! Crikkey, that put a smile on my face!!!

Thing is, as I have ever only used turntables to mix once (not kidding, I had 1 hour on some 2 years ago!) every thing I have every mixed is using cut/paste/mix programs, mainly Magix.

I love making the mixes and plonking them in the car, but I didnt wanna enter the comp as this way isn't LIVE mixing.

Glad U liked though, twas only a dinky snipit, You got the tunes spot on too,

Any more wanna go for a guess, Deep Dish was in there, Cohen V's Deluxe "just kick". Anymore, my signature is a clue too

@ eev: no I used club mixes no radio mixes. but I mixed the beat of track 2 into the melody of track 1 and so on to have an energetic mix...

I'm not that big fan of the 2-4 minute build-ups of trance tracks so I often choose to mix the next track into the melody of the playing track but in a way that it doesn't sound too bad.

I hope my transitions sound not that bad :-)

if it doesn't work this time, ill upload to an alternate webspace, and upload to the ftp a link/URL to it.
I know that doesn't seem fair, but whatever =D

Posted by mr2gti on Sep-05-2004 21:31:

Sounds fair to me greg, it jumped like mad - even after i re-encoded it it still did it.

Let us judges know when and where matey.

BTW, the first track is bloody gorgeous!

Posted by DjCommisad on Sep-05-2004 21:41:

K, I finished reuploading to the competition FTP. Let me know if it did it correctly this time. The tracklist still isn't reading the right number of bytes (807, whereas in the ftp program I used to upload it says 821 on mine... so maybe there are issues here!)

Posted by DJ PSYCHOTRANCE on Sep-05-2004 22:23:

in case any of the judges want to know, i did my mix with traktor dj studio 2.5.3 (latest version). i used a lot of loops in my mixing.
and my view is that you get better results with traktor if you have plenty of RAM and a POWERFUL CPU.

I use TraktorFS which uses the ScratchAmp (a pos).

Posted by djkoolaide on Sep-06-2004 15:17:

Actually I just started experimenting with two soundcards a few days ago. I kinda like it but there's a problem with my second soundcard, it gets way off-sync with the main sound :P

Hi all, I just read the last couple of msg's and want to comment that I use the Hercules Dj Console with Virtual Dj (console freeware vers.) using only one soundcard (the one inside the console )

I do use Traktor sometimes tho...but V DJ is just comfortable mixing in my opinion...

Any way, I hope I can join one of the dj mix competions soon!

I must say I'm quite pleased about it. I'm not that fanatic at mixing live so its perfect for me. As I sad I primarily use virtual dj as its fully compatibel, wich makes it an easy to use device with basicly everything I need to mix when I feel like it

One thing tho, the "weels" for hi/mid/low cut off the sound pretty quick, maybe you can change it somewhere (if so there's no problem), but it feels a bit rough.

Anyway, I really enjoy using it with my fav. tunes!

Gl with your choice :P

Posted by Rockabye on Sep-08-2004 11:13:

19 mixes I think...

so you only have 3 to go...

damn its still 22 days till we have results :-(

Posted by DJ_Audun on Sep-08-2004 11:36:

Well...u don't really have to wait that long do u? If u have all the results ready, there's no point to wait 22 days for them.
