Originally posted by Pio Perhaps, but i love Tisto transitions like that one. From my point of view, there's no such thing as being off a few bars in the mix. Tijs does it purposely with much poetic license, and it works in the dancefloor and on my eardrums with much more effectiveness than what any traditional Dutch trance dj does (bore me).

Originally posted by stamper Has anyone actually recieved their CD yet? Is it actually any different from the "promo" version i assume everyone has, I mean the quality of the mixing? Some of the mixing in this CD is horrible and really puts a damper on the whole CD IMO. It would be great if the actual release fixed up the terrible mixing.

Yes, I think he was 'off' on purpose. I don't think that his beatmatching is bad, it is crude and creative. I've always seen Tisto's mixing as pretty complex from a musicologist perspective. Much more unique than say Armin or Ferry,
its a good album

be careful where u say it though...
if u say that on the armin forum they start chasing you with a state of trance's back catalogue as deadly frisbee's
after all, half those same-old, same-old releases are just about worth being thrown at the enemy instead of gathering dust on the back shelf of the bargain bin of your local recordstore.
hmmz i feel better now.
I've been put off by music lately..haven't been mixing or moved by any tunes in a loooonnng time.. as far as i can remember i haven't bought any record in months...hearing the samples on juno on this 4x12" makes me want to buy them letting alone it has moved me crazily!!

Thank god Armin and Tiesto are different, it'd be very boring if they were the same
Anyeay moving back to the topic, I've heard the 4X12" pack today and it's much better than I'd anticipated. Will need to listen a couple more times before I really have a firmish opinion though.

Originally posted by Phortastic yeah that AvB is still doing asot for free is something we should respect him for but that doesn't mean he does more for the cause of the electronic music then any other artist like for example tiesto or marco v or sasha or whatever. Pio is just making the same snide comments on armin like everyone does on tiesto nowadays. Saying: "damn the mixing is horrible on this cd" without even backing it up with some arguments is as pathetic as saying armin van Boring. So Pio no harm done mate keep it up

The Nebula release with two separate 2x12 packs on standard black vinyl are now available at Juno.
whats ASOT? all i know is that its a radio... is it online and where
ASOT = A State Of Trance by Armin van Buuren. It's every thursday from 20.00 - 22.00 GMT+1 (I believe, or is it from 21.00 - 23.00 ?!?) on ID&T Radio in the Netherlands or listen online with ETS-global.
Ok I have bitched at Tiesto in the past for sucking ass when he came to Chicago this summer but I will never diminish his contribution to Trance.
His production work has been solid for years. He always seems to moving the sound of trace in a different direction. Maybe not as 'creative' as we would all expect but he does try to move away from the standard trance forumla ( i.e. ASOT label crap).
In addition to his production work Tiesto has made large leaps for the DJ community. His 'In Concert Peroformances' has brought attention to trance DJs and edm djs as well. This has been a unique and successful venture by tiesto.
We will never know what impact tiesto has truely made in Trance or dance music because he is still apart of this movement.10 years from today we could all look back and say ' love tiesto or hate tiesto he did help edm for the better'
btw Im still waiting for the tiesto colored vinyls to arrive at my home
will write an extensive review upon reciept.
