nothing but respect to Phoenix....
but as of this season i'm officially a Heat fan,
and they were just run outta the gym.

lets see how they do when they meet in Miami

Fun game to watch today.

Where is the D? Thank goodness Davis didn't play in second half as the Raps would not have been able to win with him on the floor.

Go MoPete and Bosh.

Posted by Sly_Guy on Jan-17-2005 15:34:

when the raptors choose to play, they're a half decent team. Bosh was good again, he carried us in the first half. Now if only they could improve on 2-18 on the road.

Posted by Yohan on Jan-18-2005 01:20:

Bosh lighting it up in first half, but cooled down a bit in second half.
Alston wioth 15 assists. Who does he think he is, Steve Nash?
Rose and Marshall playing some clutch basketball.

Raptors win! They win on the road!

Posted by MarkT on Jan-18-2005 01:26:

wow, that was a fun 2nd half

Garnett really threw an elbow at Bosh near the end...what a punk. Next trip down the floor, Bosh caugh the ball near the top of the key and I was hoping he was going to move in and knock Garnett flying, even if he took an offensive foul, but he was smarter than that...kicked it out to an open Raptor who drained one from the side.

Everyone stepped up at the end...Rose got carried away, but he was ON FIRE for a bit...Marshall nailing threes over Garnett...Bonner rebounding...Murray with a monster block...Alston looking like an All-Star PG...and Bosh really playing smart with the ball.

First win ever on the road against Minnesota too!

wins are good!

Posted by Sly_Guy on Jan-18-2005 05:03:

didn't see the first half. The second gave me a heart attack

Posted by Crazy Serb on Jan-18-2005 05:27:

15 assists for Rafer? Hot damn!

Posted by samhouse on Jan-18-2005 15:21:

guys

i think its safe to say Sam Mitchell maybe the BEST thing to happen to the raptors EVER!!!!

wicked game last night..

Alston is superb...
Rose off the bench is genius..hope it doesnt piss him off too much if were winning.
Peterson is coming into his own..
wtf is matt bonner...whatever hes playing amazing
and ofcourse BOSH!!!!!!!!!! just like the mixmag hardstuff

Posted by TheVrk on Jan-18-2005 16:40:

Well yesterday PROVED that if the Raps play the right way
(aka the way Mitchell WANTS them to play) they CAN win road games.

HUGE game for Rafer - all we need is consistency from 'em now
Donyell - imo ALWAYS solid
Jalen - again shows bench is best for him
MoPete - CONSISTENCY plz

Lastly, Sam Mitchell really is doing a good job

Posted by Sly_Guy on Jan-18-2005 17:03:

Mo Pete has had consistancy over the last couple weeks. He's allowed to have one bad game. It's just a shame that it happened on the road when everyone was watching them to see if they could break that long road losing skid.

The one thing I'd like to see more of is matt bonner. He's playing amazingly, hardly missing shots, getting rebounds, playing defense, but he's ot getting the minutes he deserves IMHO.

yeah, if only most of the players would acknowledge that as well, instead of being selfish bastards...
*cough* Jalen *cough*

he's a good coach. I've been saying that since the first week of the season. But I don't think I'd go as far as to say 'the best thing'

sold!

by the way, here's a great article on the Raptors and team chemistry in the post-Carter era:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?sl...ov=cp&type=lgns

With Carter: 8 and 17 (wins/losses)
Without Carter: 8 and 6 (wins/losses)

Conclusion - obvious!

Posted by Sly_Guy on Jan-19-2005 02:19:

jalen for wally?

Wally's great, he reminds me of bonner with his unconsious shooting, I'd take that deal in less than a second.

Posted by Espresso on Jan-19-2005 05:47:

amazing nail-biting game!
luv how the raptors play solid basketball now , more importantly they've got confident (which never happened this season).
hope it doesn't dry up.
i'm waiting to see how the're going to play agains Washington, that should be a good consistency test.
does anyone remeber thay guy vince ... ummm what was his name?

Posted by Yohan on Jan-19-2005 15:15:

^The guy who is averaging 25 points, 5 assists and few rebounds per game you mean?

the only stat that matters is the team record after the fact.
Raptors : 8-6
Nets : 6-9

yeah, the guy that couldn't pull that off while with Raptors... and the guy that was not dependable at all... the guy that used to whine and cry all the time, to coach, teammates, ref's, media, etc...

I don't think it's a fair comparison, considering both teams have different players.

Posted by samhouse on Jan-19-2005 19:11:

Don't fucking tell me you can sit there and support someone who has OPENLY stated they did not TRY hard enough for their team....
THAT is fucking bullshit...anyone who thinks like that does not deserve to be an athlete...

I used to love vince...thought he was the greatest thing since toast...and right upto the end i supported him and thought that sam mitchell may inspire him to get back to his old ways....I still closely followed his game when he moved to NJ despite the raptors being #1 in my books...but then he said what he did...he can go learn some yoga and suck his own 2 inch dick...

oh so jason kidd and richard jefforson are not good enough support for vince carter...fuck jefferson...jason KIDD is not good enough????? bs...if you ask me...theres prolly a few players on that net squad who resent carter for what hes said about not trying hard enough...

Posted by Yohan on Jan-19-2005 19:12:

I'm not outright supporting Vince.

I'm just trying to be fair.

Posted by infinity HiGH on Jan-20-2005 02:29:

Vince is averaging 25pts per game? WTF??

Oh, and Raptors just owned the Knicks!! What a kickass game. Tight till the very end, when the Raptors woke up and pulled away from the Knicks. Bosh has set a new franchise record with 9 straight double-double's.

Raptors are playing really well. I hope this isn't just a one-time thing.

Posted by Sly_Guy on Jan-20-2005 03:08:

we win again?

I gotta be careful, I might get used to this.
