d00d Orb, total body most improved contest, starting March 1st, ending July 1st, you down meng?

Posted by Orbax on Feb-23-2005 01:34:

Aye. Im gonna be trying to gain about 15 lbs and be uber man. Youre on!

Posted by ExXluva7 on Feb-23-2005 02:42:

I made a new years resolution to get in the gym, cuz i was 6' 2" and i only weighed 165, which to me was incredibly scronny, lol. I hit the gym hard for 3 weeks, and somehow managed to gain 15lbs. I'm not sure what my max bench was when i started, but i put up 240 twice the last week, since then i've been busy, and slacking, lol, so hopefully this week ill be going back, im toying with the idea of trying creatine, i've never used it, but everyone i ask says it'll give you lots of energy, and to combine it with protein shakes, im still lookin into it, ill try to put up some pictures, i dont know any dimensions except my biceps are 14" and my forearms are 12 1/2", not too bad i guess, but anyways, ill try to get some pics

Posted by Orbax on Feb-23-2005 02:49:

Posted by Orbax on Feb-23-2005 17:29:

damn rob, whens the last time you posted in this thread lol

out of curiosity, whats your leg routine? I was just doing some studying on theories behind leg workouts and am curious to see something

Posted by Rob on Feb-23-2005 19:14:

I've posted in this thread quiet a bit

My leg routine is isometric/static based:

A slight warm up with 150lbs doing squats.

Then 250lbs isometric/static squats held for as long as possible (usually around a minute or 2) until I drop to the floor in sheer pain. * 15-20+sets with a 3-4 minute break inbetween sets.

Repeat 5 days a week.

With that being said I've been on holidays for 4 months now and won't be able to train 2-3 hours a day like I currently have been. Fucking UNI

Posted by Orbax on Feb-23-2005 19:18:

lol i was meaning hadnt seen yah in a few pages

also do you run? whats your leg circumference?

Posted by Rob on Feb-23-2005 19:38:

I definitly don't run. I don't do any cardio at all tbh

calves= 16.2ish"
Lower thigh 22.75"
Upper thigh 26"

Posted by Orbax on Feb-23-2005 19:48:

wow. that isnt bad at all. lol no cardio?! crazy! im off to do legs today. should be great. tryin to get into squats so I can start bulkin up a bit. I think i an squat like...135 lol. I never do the damn things.

anywho catch ya later.

Biceps:

Bicep curl with straight bar
Bicep curl with EZ curl close/wide grip
DB curls:
Seated on straight/incline bench:
elbows at sides hands out 45 degrees
elbows at side hands straight
lean forward and rest triceps against inner thigh and do 1 arm at a time . isolation curls

standing:
elbows at sides hands out 45 degrees
elbows at side hands straight
elbows at sides doing cross chest 1 at a time
arm resting on an incline bench do preacher curls never allow to go all the way straight.

cable:
set handle to bottom and curl up
set straight bar to bottom and curl up.

Machines:
Preacher curls mainly

for out bicep the thing is gonna be bringin them close in instead of out to the sides.

hope that helps try all of those youll see what they work real quick.

also on biceps make sure at the top you flex had gives you a nice peak. and stay slow on the negatives. 2 count down explosive up.

Posted by Rob on Feb-26-2005 10:41:

Cheers orby Just hammer those squats. Eat, live, BREATH squatting for a few months and you'll see other parts of your body improve dramatically with ALOT less effort (sometimes with no effort at all). No other excercise comes close to releasing the amount of human growth hormone and testosterone like squating.

Posted by Orbax on Feb-26-2005 22:13:

I did:

Squats:

1x6 175

1x15 35

Posted by Ygrene on Feb-26-2005 23:31:

Dude, squats are such the bomb exercise.

Hands down my favorite exercise ever, with deadlifts a close second.

I think back to when I was younger and the crazy things I use to do in the gym....it mostly revolved around doing squats.

Ever hear those stories about Arnold and his buddies just taking an olympic bar and some weights and goin into the woods? Just squatting all day long and eating barbecued meat out in the wilderness.

Hardcore.

Posted by Orbax on Feb-27-2005 00:47:

bahhahha thats awesome and I can totally see it. Crazy bastards...

...

totally want to do that now. Such a primal work out!
