I think you maybe mistake Max Graham Gone with Till There Was You?

Confirmation he spun Gone?

Posted by Durafei on Jul-03-2005 18:15:

He did play Gone.

He also played Criss Source - Hugs 'n' Kisses sometime within the first 90 minutes of the set.

He definatly spun Gone...I remember it vividly...and he definatly didn't play Til There Was You. I would have remembered that.

Man, first Tijs, then Montreal, then Jeff's bday at Boa, and now some time to catch up and continue the review...but first:

Then I ended up in VIP and ended up dancing my ass off inches away from Tiesto all night got a chance to chat with him briefly and he signed my cd.. I can die happy now

I'm so happy that you actually got meet him and fulfill your destiny! Next time, girl!

Fahad...I'm a bit disappointed in you...after all the talks we've had...the hovering photos...and the first real photo...you still haven't mentioned meeting me... haha j/k

LISAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMFG I'm sorry...honestly you have every right to lay a massive bitch slap on me the next time you see me!!! how inappropriate of me...you were one of my HILIGHT meet-ups!!! I'm so embarrased :O My pathetic attempt of an excuse is this: after much chatting and PMing and discussion on the forum, I feel like I already know you and therefore don't feel like you are a "new" meet! at my patheticness!

Yeah, well, to continue my review, I feel I am maturing up now (ever so slowly)...and I realize how to differentiate between a DJ's event that is part of a new album promotion and a later event that is just sick ass beats. I will only be attending the latter Tiesto events (hopefully I'll guess right). LKD, I actually was thinking about how cool it would be to dance to breaks at many points that evening.

Of course I had an awesome time, but it was exactly as Karim omened; too much hype would lead to too high expectations which would lead to some disappointment. Jenn, baby, sorry I'm not as faithful as you but after hearing my fave TOTA DJs play my favorite ch00ns, I have a more refined taste right now and I was expecting Tijs to blow the roof off of his December set; I thought DJs just keep getting better and better but I guess I should've checked that n00b belief at the door when I found out about Santa Claus.

Anyway, I can't believe they actually have other people close for headliners; I thought that was the gayest thing in the world; I thought Tijs was only going for a break and then he's no more...then we fucking scream for 20 minutes just for one 8 minute track; after screaming for longer than a track length, people should grow a brain and walk off...that twice that I got disappointed at the end of a Tiesto event; even in December I think he did play one encore but after that the crowd screamed even louder but he still walked off. AVB and Ferry don't do that. And Dan--you know what I'm about to say

Also I wish Innocente was played later when the crowd was more into it and people weren't still looking for a place to dance; and I can't remember a SINGLE track that was repeated from December; I thought Walking on Clouds or at least something from Nyana would be played

Anyway enough about my bitching (not much of a review, sorry)...next time, LKD, tell me where YOU'RE going!

EDIT:
FACK! I'm getting lazy so I don't even mention the biggest highlights of the night!!!!!

Nada and Ali, so cool to hang with you before the party; and KELLY!!!! YANKEEBABY!!!! So awesome to finally meet you!!! LOL you were AWOL for a while but finally graced us with your VIP presence! Hope you get home safely, doll!

All my TOTA favorites (you know who you are) SOOOOOOOOOOO COOOOOL dancing up a storm with you!!! Yes Vlad, you're right, despite my disappointment with the track selection I had an AWESOME time because of my favorite peeps (although the crowd was really getting in the way sometimes--speaking of which, Tyler...LOL!!! You're one TOUGH PUNJABI, bro!!! LOL!!!!)

One funny moment was when Nada was on the podium (btw you are KKEFKA's new queen! ) she was sprinkling water on people and apparently this one oriental dude wasn't too happy so he just emptied his bottle in one massive throw and it totally DRENCHED you from head to toe!!!!!! it was kinda funny but only if someone we KNEW did it; well, it was a stranger so when he was reaching for another bottle (I think) I sort of signalled to him to calm down...otherwise I might have had to go Bruce Lee on his ass LOL!!!!

Beach after-party was kind of a blur, of course...PEOPLE I AM SO CUT-OFF FROM EVERYTHING except shisha and cigarettes...but Marty's car's sick sound system was conquering all the ginos that were hanging out in the parking lot...Tiesto's Live on Tranceairwaves (5-14-04) was ensuring that the night wouldn't end in Tiesto disappointment! P.S. MARTY I WANT MY CD BACK!!!!!!

Alrighty then ....time for me review.

Had a good night not the greatest but not that bad either. Thanks to PartEgurl for hookin me up with a ticket. It was great to hang out with you hun.
Highlight of Tiesto set for me was La Noche and Lately also really enjoyed Innocent right in the begining. And ofcourse chillan with all you lovely TOTAs.
Jen, Fahad, Cale, and everyone else that was dancing beside me in the speaker corner i am truly sorry about the lil scaffle. Next time i will " try " to behave meself lol.
As for sound system at the docks well i had heard lots of good thing about it but i wasnt imprssed by it. Alot of ppl told me it is because of residents of the islands and what not. If thats the case then those residents need to fawkin move to Uganda. All in all a 7 out of 10 night for me.

Oh Fahad! I would never slap you! How could I do that? Even if you did forget to mention me...as mad as I could get (which I didn't really at all), as soon as I saw you, there's no way that anger would have stayed...I'd have to give you a giant hug! No slaps! Maybe hi-5's, but that's it! I don't think your excuse is pathetic either! I met so many TAs the other night, and just like you said, most of them I have already talked to so much that I didn't feel like it was a "new" meet either! I'm glad that we finally did get to meet face to face though. I can't wait until everyone has their pics up, b/c I have to find the ones of me and you...both regular and hovering! hehe
Can't wait to party with you again

Finally, my thoughts on the evening...

Two thumbs down. I can't remember a party that I've had less fun at.

I had a good time, yes, but did I have a lot of fun? No.

Tunes were great - Tiesto consistently throws down great party sets @ The Docks. I have never, ever seen Tiesto give a shoddy performance @ The Docks.

The Docks decor and setup was awesome. Great to have the patio open w/ TVs of what was going on inside, the stage setup was awesome and the VIP upstairs is -really- -really- swanky.

If it werent for the good company and respectable set - I probably would have left before 7 AM. Russel - sorry, I couldn't crowd-surf my way close enough to drop in for a visit. Next time.

The atmosphere and environment (vibe created by audience) was horrible. Crowd size was twice what it was in Dec 04. I guess the Docks figured the overflow would go onto the patio - unfortunately there is little sound on the patio (thanks islanders) - so everybody was inside.

Crowds don't bother me, even tightly packed (not unsafe) is ok - AS LONG AS the vibe and energy of the crowd is working as-one, together - rockin' it out as a group, mutually experiencing the event, everybody contributing to everybody elses enjoyment.

Inside was awful. Maybe people forgot their manners, or just put on the "fuck oi!" attitude before going out or maybe (and I hate to stereotype, but) it was the Club Palazzo crowd (which has been absent at the prior Tiesto@Docks events). Pushing, shoving, yelling, flaunting, "yo man", strut, strut, and strut. Selfish "me"'ing rather than "ass shakin'".

So that's my thoughts. Great music, well executed set, beautiful setup/VIP, great friends, awesome weather, crowding sucked, environment/atmosphere (vibe created by audience) was weak.

I agree with you here as well although I don't think it was enough for 2 thumbs down.

This was close to the Bal en Blanc experience for me. What is the problem with people sometimes? You've got it pegged RJ with the "Club Palazzo" comment. I had countless ppl want to fight me just because I had to ask politely for them to move or something. It was rediculous. If you're going to show up with that kind of attitude don't bother showing up at all; you are NOT welcome. Show up to shake your ass, raise your hands in the air, and have a good time. Nobody cares who you are, how much money you have, or who's tougher than who. We're here to see the DJ rock the crowd and to dance all night long.

Leave your attitudes at home next time, thank you.

yeah, I went by this one girl, said "sorry, just gotta get by you, so many people hehe sorry" being totally nice, so I get half way by her and she pushes as hard as she could outta the way! I just laughed with a smile yelling "alright! thanks alot! *gave her the thumbs up*" LOL!

I agree...I wasn't a big fan of the crowd...it was to the point where I knew what areas my friends would be at, but I didn't even want to go through the crowd to find them! It was disgusting. I found it a little odd too how the more I said "excuse me", or "could I get by please", the ruder ppl got! What the hell was with that? Rather then pushing my way through like everyone else does, I'm trying to be polite and apologizing, yet I get dirty looks and shit! It was awful. My friends and I were even trying to be courteous, and if we saw ppl trying to get by we'd move out of the way, yet we got few friendly "thank-you's". The thing I hate the most is when you move out of the way for ppl to walk by, and then they take that as you giving up your spot for them or something! As I heard Nada say "KEEP IT MOVING PPL!"

Ya my friend was telling me that after the party...he found out it was b/c of the Toronto islands that we couldn't have the beats up louder!

Posted by Playa24_7 on Jul-03-2005 23:34:

I honestly think now, that if tiesto was in the booth instead of the stage, that would have spread people around everywhere alot more than just stocked up at the front like that, and maybe just maybe made it abit better. I for now, would rather have him in the booth than on the stage.
