meh, that's just me.

Edgar Renteria is my fave player of all time
yet I still hate the Red Sox

There's about 6 of us that keep it steady but some reason Vlad is appearing heavily lately... don't worry he'll disappear until next October soon.

I've already transitioned to football even though my teams licks nuts.

[/threadjack]

uh...hello? No Martz indefinitely? Shouldn't you Rams fans be preparing for a Super Bowl run at this point?

[/end threadjack]

Unfortunately, I think that his influence will remain (well that's what I read so far). We'll see this Monday against quite a good team.

But I guess there's less chance to run reverses on 3rd and 3 from the 7 yard line when you just marched down the field for 3 straight possessions.

Ok, now end threadjack.

Yeah. I was talking about the off season, since I'm assuming I pay more attention to all Baseball teams during that time than everyone else. Baseball is a 12 month sport for me. I'm actually checking Arizona Fall League stats right now. Your prized Eric Duncan is tearing it up so far:

.522 AVG/OBP (no walks) and a RIDICULOUSLY UNHEARD OF 1.261 SLG (yes... that's SLUGGING and not OPS!!!) In 23 ABs he has 29 total bases. Wonder what Minor League affiliate he'll be playing for next year? Trenton Thunder... or in another organization. I'm going with the latter.

Even more absurd than Duncan is Brandon Wood (Angels SS):

.444/.483/1.370!!!

I think there was a stat that about 75% of players who go to the AFL are in the majors within 2 years. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean they're superstars, but still.

Thanks for the news about Eric Duncan... But he does sound like Yankee trade bait unfortunately but that depends upon the G.M. whomever that is.

I follow all the offseason moves pretty closely actually. Kind of hard to miss when I check ESPN.com like every hour. Especially since I'm gonna have to defend my Fantasy Baseball championship.. Vernon has said he wants in next year so he can get a good pummeling by my team.

And I read the NY Daily News, NY Post, Newsday, and Scout.com (all online) for Yankee stuff. As well as a couple forums.

But I follow college/pro football, college/pro basketball, soccer, olympics, golf as well so that divides my attention. Just no hockey!

Word. I want in on next years FL too!

its funny cause its true....
got the good side of it with the Marlins...and the Red Sox lol..and the bad side with the Cardinals

Vern that Burger King thing is funny and freaks me out at the same time

and about fantasy...hopefully Ill improve my 5th place playoff round finish (damn you cybernetic angels...)

Posted by Shamez214 on Oct-12-2005 22:10:

I finished 3rd in the league I was in. And that was because of a terrible final two weeks. I finished 2nd before the playoffs. My pitching fell off a cliff at the end...

it's gonna be my halloween costume

Posted by partyhopper on Oct-13-2005 03:30:

it's a game of inches for sure...

the baseball gods seem to be pulling for the White Sox, with what went down - first Washburn's errant throw on the first batter, and then the call in the 9th, both of which resulted in the only 2 ChiSox runs

Poo-holes is the anti-Arod right now!

Posted by Member of X on Oct-18-2005 17:41:

No doubt, Poo-Holes is a freaking Goliath!! Mucho respect from me. A Fraud has similar talent but doesn't have the cajones that Poo-Holes has. That homer was a freaking titanic blast, I think it's still going. And I think the Astro's are in deep trouble after getting kicked in the teeth like that. Read Bill Simmons' article about the "walking dead" effect:

I hope the White Sox win it...

Their team reminds me of the late 90's Yankees, and I like it. No egos, just quality players.

Great read..and to an extent i do agree with him about baseball being built on momentum and right now the momentum is in the Cards' favor.. and in the Cards' home field.

Wednesday will be it, in my opinion. there will be no game 7. Astros will face Chicago in the world series.

Amazing performance by the ChiSox, with 4 straight complete games
I do wonder if the bullpen will be ready when (if) they're needed in the WS.

In the NLCS, man, the Stros were 1 strike away from WS, but then the pesky David Eckstein kept things alive, Lidge pitched poorly against Edmunds, then came Albert bleeping Pujols delivering that unbelievable bomb. They should've walked him. Even though the go-ahead run would be put on base, Lidge's chances would've been better against "Colonel" Sanders.

Thanks again Dan Patrick.

The ChiSox pitchers have until Saturday to be ready, I think thats more than enough time for them to be at 100%.

I think the ChiSox might have too much rest but by games 5-6 it'll come back to benefit them.

Possibly. But... the bullpen wouldn't have been used in almost 2 weeks. Not good. At all.

i'm sure they can throw simulated games if they wanted to =P
