also, europeans aren't metro-sexual... why? europeans actually have culture, and sense of style. culture more than anything is something that is seriously lacking here in the US.

americans are metro. they created this term becuause this is there way of embracing stylistic aspects of gay culture, with out having to openely admit to admiring, and immitating gay peoples sense of style. it also allows americans to dangle off of europes nut sack, with out have to openely admit to that either. this way, they can continue to hate gay people, and europeans, while still doing a bad job of ripping off both in a crappy attempt at being "cool", "urbane", or what ever the hell they are trying to do.

it's pretty sad. all americans are doing is emmasculating themselves by trying to be stylish and trendy. while europeans can actually be stylish and trendy w/out looking like a sissy.

lol....
I cant help but think your directing this at me and my USA TA buds convo last night lol

I was having a little stereotypical sarcastic fun ( i was a bit buzzed too haha)
I agree there are alot of people in the U.S like that, but me and most of the people over here in Miami and other big citys have 'culture'

And Ill still call them metros, I dont give a fuck cause I dont hate people like that , shit Im a little like them, people say that I act more european than south american too haha.

Chicks dig the metros too haha

edit..hardcore metros that paint their nails and act sissy gay and stuff like that ,now thats a little too much... oh and I still agree with most people that Italy act like sissys on the field alot,no denying that

I bet alot of USA fans not happy with the refereeing yesterday hope that Uruguayan ref (who was suspended prior to the 2002 Cup for 'irregularities') that called this game should just go back to seeing animals fuck each other

Im serious thats what he does for a living lol http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en...ONDA_Jorge.html

When not working one of the most stressful, thankless jobs in the world, Larrionda relaxes by watching animals have sex. Just thought you should know.

Yet another American with his head up his bum.
Yes Member of X, you might be right.
But just cause your nation isn't good at 'soccer' means you have to hide behind the rest of your sports is just rediculase.
I lol.

But back to the game in hand.
It was rubbish, not the play, the teams did very well, and I thoroughly entertained, but that ref wants a bullet in the back of his head... or a slap atleast, and sacking.

alright.. the fashion/style/metro talk needs to stop right here.

Shut The Fuck Up!

I think many Euro's in here are plenty arrogant, especially about how bad our football team is. Or they continue to slag on our football because of some political agenda and not any real knowledge of our team. What I'm saying is that if we ever really had the passion in football as the rest of the countries, we'd be a powerhouse. I'm the bad guy because I'm proud of the overall athletic ability of my country. Ok. You hide behind the "Another stupid American" card. Wow, I haven't heard that one in this forum. That's a real intelligent response.

Funny enough, Italy could only tie with our measly team.

Ok I wanna address the issue of the refs at the US vs Italy game without the

1) "OMG IM a professional football fan, let us the real fans decide if its a good call....All of you soccer newbs dont know anything" mentality.

and

2) "US is got screwed, i hate the refs" mentality.

First and foremost, In my opinion both straight red cards were correct and the offside goal was a good call. The questionable yellowcards to pope might have been a little excessive. The main reason the officiating has been questioned is not so much the red cards passed out during the game but rather the tempo lost in the game because of the rigid officiating. The Italians, if you have watched football before, have attained the image of being divers. The Italians are masters at the dive which by the way is a sport that belongs in the olympics. Being fair the The yellow card on Totti was a joke too. But what was unfortunate was the contact which initiated wwe style flopping left and right. It was almost as if they hit a landmine when the italian squad was in contact with the us players. The stretchers were brought onto the field about 5+ times in this game and one particular instance showed one Italian that wasn't carted off the field on a stretcher yelling in pain as if he had both legs broken and was about to die of intense pain. Seconds later he would come back into the field after the trainer would fog his leg with ice spray, running like a healthy cheetah. Now with that said, i want to reinterate that i agree with the red cards, however if the game was going to be called so rigidly down the line then they should have been more rigid on flopping. Now if you believe all the calls were called according to the books then you would agree they weren't so strict on diving. FIFA has been trying to crack down on simulation and this game should of been the one that would of enforced this if it was being officiated in this manner. With that said, the game should have ended with 4-5 players on the field. Regardless the result, it was a memorable game even if the Italian Press called their team a "Italy of Madmen" and even if US soccer fan thinks Bruce Arena needs to be fired as soon as possible. Everyone needs to take it easy bashing each other over who knows more about soccer and what not. Its pretty immature, enjoy the games! I know I AM

You're right. I have to admit I don't like the USA at all (although not directly related with politics, more directly related with 2002 and i hate Bruce Arena too, what an arrogant twat), and they do have a decent team. I see the tie with Italy more a consequence of the styles of play (Italy was forced to take attacking control of the game, that doesn't suit them at all) but that doesn't take away the merit from the american team.

Still it's pretty fucking annoying how a good part of yours are bashing the refereeing - general consensus among everyone but the american fans is that all of them were good calls. I'm not discarding the americans opinion here for being "dumb" or "footy noobs", but because of being biased.

i also love how czech rep are "commies"

The reason we aren't a powerhouse in soccer is because we don't send our best athletes, we send our best soccer players. And after age 16 there aren't many. Our best athletes go on to play basketball, football, and baseball.

i havent liked bruce arena's gameplan for either of the two games. in the game against the czechs he tried to be cute and have guys playing out of position and then came down harsh on those players after the game. for the italian game i thought we came out good and controlled much of the pace. but when it came to subbing in players late in the game he really dropped the ball. i thought mcbride should have been taken out and eddie johnson put in to match up with beasley's fresh legs. i also think he should have done something about pope and the rest of the defense because the ref was calling everything so tight it was only a matter of time before someone got another yellow whether it was pope or onyewu.
