Big choke job and I'll reinforce what I said last Monday, don't etch the Bears name into the Super Bowl trophy already. I think the Steelers are turning it around and the Seahawks will be there somewhere in the end with something to say.

Grossman didn't look too good tonight in my opinion! Steve Young just said he thought it was one of the worst performances by a QB he's ever seen. That's nice.

Leinart did look composed for the most part. What's with Edge? I saw the stat line at one stage was 34 carries for 54 yards. Holy moly that sucks. That's a terrible O line they got.. shows in the plays that led to defensive scores.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Oct-17-2006 06:06:

i think Joe Theissman put it best during the game(wow! he actually said something conventional. haha) . He basically said that Arizona is a type of team that can rack up the points on teams, but can't close out the games. This is exactly what happened. Chicago was basically toying with the Cardinals, and 2 quick scores at the end killed the Cardinals when it's all said and done. Arizona is a good team in the future, and i now have confidence that Leinert can turn this franchise around. Da Bears do it again, and looks like Grossman is Gross again.

Posted by Dj Smitty20 on Oct-17-2006 11:37:

Grossman had a shit night, but he still threw for 150 yards! Last year, a bad night for Kyle Orton ended up being 4-28, 67 yards, etc = in other words, he was crap.

I'm fucking jazzed that the Bears, who sucked so bad when I really started to pay attention to sports at around age 9-10, finally have a quality team that could win a Super Bowl.

Posted by infinity HiGH on Oct-17-2006 16:33:

I wouldn't call Grossman's game last night the worst performance by a QB That's just ridiculous. It was horrible, but you have to admit that the Cardinals had amazing coverage, and the Bears defence let a few guys slip through to sack Grossman. I think the Bears offence as a whole, was atrocious last night. But you can't squarely blame it on Rex.

Butters' Coca Cola League Poll (where 1 is the worst of the worst and 10 is the best of the worst) (as of 10.17.2006)

Many teams get their first win, while others decline furthur than the depths of the New Orleans ground level. Congrats to those teams. We have a couple of newcomers, and a couple of exitwarmers, as they proved not to be not in this elite 10. The Pittsburgh Steelers got their wake up call, after seeing their team on my list, destroying the chiefs 45-7. So here's the list :

1. Oakland Raiders( LW : 1 ) - Oakland looked horrible against the Broncos on NBC. Even John Madden couldn't find anything positive to say about this team, and that's very hard to do. They need to dump this team, and start from scratch. It is the best for them. I heard Bo Jackson doesn't know what happened to his former team, and we all know Bo knows everything, right ?

2. Miami Dolphins( LW : 5 ) - Tough game for the Phins. Wow do they look bad right now. Now the media is starting to compare them with the Hurricanes, and ask who is worse at the moment ? Randy McMichael and Ronnie Brown had productives stats against the Jets, but once again, the QB position remains questionable, and the offensive line looks shaky. They may need to call Richmond Webb and Harry Galbreath to help this offensive line, because right now, both of them could actually start for this team.

3. Houston Texans( LW : 6 ) - That was one boring game against the Cowboys. They had the lead at halftime, then that was it. T.O. burnt them, and they couldn't do much against a moderate Cowboys defense. The texans really need a running back to scare the defense away from david carr. he looks like a broken pinata hanging ever so slightly on the tree branches. on top of that, the hit by roy williams when carr decided to run out the pocket didn't make things any easier. haha . tough break for this team and gary kubiak.

4. Detroit Lions( LW : 2 ) - yea! they got their first win against former coach dick jauron and the bills. hey they actually look good by trying to balance the load (36 passes, 27 runs). they keep this up, they might have a solid second half of the season, because their defense is doing pretty solid. they just need their offense to click. and roy williams is the shit. i had to say that.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers( LW : 3 ) - congrats on their first win. gradkowski sticking it there, and handing the bengals a gut wrenching loss. defense starting to show their age, so tampa needs to start working on a youth movement on the defensive side, or it's not going to be a bright future for them. their offense seems to be set with gradkowski/simms, caddy, and michael clayton.

6. Tennessee Titans( LW : 4 ) - congrats to the titans on their win against the skins. they gave it their all against the skins. can't expect anything less from a jeff fisher coached team. they give 100% all the time. travis henry keeping lendale white on the bench with his big carries. hopefully they can squeeze a couple of more wins.

7. Arizona Cardinals( LW : 8 ) - Matt Leinert turned the smoking hot desert into sunnyside shores with his excellent play against a tough bears team. don't blame the loss on leinert, the coaches, or any of the defensive side. everyone gave it their all. blood, sweat and tears. however, at the end, the good teams score the points, but the best teams know how to close out the games.

8. Green Bay Packers( LW : 7 ) - they were on bye. how did they move up from 7 to 8 ? well the cardinals blew the big turkey, and the pack was smart enough to let koren robinson serve his suspension, not trying to delay the issue any furthur. now with the issue about brett favre, and when aaron rodgers will start .....

9. Cleveland Browns( LW : 10 ) - they were on bye. how did they move down from 10 to 9 ? well pittsburgh showed their winning swagger, cincy and baltimore are still good teams, so they are still the bottom dwellers of the afc north.

10. Washington Redskins( LW : NR ) - Why did they enter into my top 10 ? They just look awful right now. they're 2-4, sorry kap. they suck right now. reports are swirling around that jason campbell might get the start soon. we will see. i can't explain about this team, because this team looks very good on paper, especially the defense, and the offense looks decent, with portis and moss leading the way, but they manage to lose games. what makes things worse is that they are in a tough division with the boys, eagles, and g-men.

Honorable Mention : San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, Atlanta Falcons, Kansas City Chiefs

nah I know... the TEAM is great... the Defense anyway...

I kept waiting for Grossman to finally hit Berrian deep... just wasn't happening...

Dennis Green should not have a job right now... no excuse for not being able to manage the game and keep the win...

then again, I never thought he should be coaching in the NFL anyway... he's a lousy coach regardless....

no the skins made the coca cola rankings . they deserve it though, i agree with you 100 percent. I dont mind Brunell..he is just one of those QBs that has a good game, and a bad one, goes and have 5 great games and two bad ones..he isnt reliable. Cambell is our future, i think..but the skins have always had a problem with a QB. We never had a decent one for the last 6 or 7 years. If we lost againts the Colts, we will have a long road ahead. Lets just hope, they pull it together and start playing some football.

Ben & I were talking how great this class is. I mean, Leinhart, Young, Culter, that Tamba QB..plus Reggie Bush, Maloney. They are all studs, and doing great so far.

I want to see Cambell start for the Skins, see how it goes.

Posted by InterMilan31 on Oct-18-2006 18:25:

Enough of the Brady & NE bias jesus christ Ive never seen so much bias in posts before in my life can we tone it down a bit. Your gonna win the division running away but remember no one else in the division is playoff bound at ALL. To put them above undefeated teams is rediculous.

Butters & Lance your not writing for ESPN.com yeah i know its your little pipe dream but please stop its rediculous. Especially in Butters case since the Saints are good it makes him an expert all of a sudden.

yeah, especially with the season ending injury to Dominick...

Bush PERHAPS could have been a bigger impact on the Texans???

we'll never know...

I like Reggie on the Saints anyhow... I wouldn't want to be stuck in HOUSTON...

definately the R.O.Y. thus far in my opinion...

Yeah, he'd probably get more touches but the Aints have a better surrounding cast to alleviate a lot of the pressure. Bush trying to run with the Texans would be sad. Texans are a lame organization! I prefer him on the Aints as well.
