Marino is going to be the next head coach, trust me on this one.

Hehe, would that be a good idea though??? I dont' think he really has any coaching experience but damn that would really reenergize this team. Saban fucked us over, slapped us in the ass and called us his bitch. I'm fookin pissed at him.

Oh why did you mention the Dolphins????? Lost cause no doubt. It is so bad that even Hootie and the Blowfish put it in a song way back when Marino was still playing, "the Dolphins make me cry," remember??

Saban made really bad personnel choices, and did not want to stick around and pay for it. Culpepper and Harrington were no better than Frerrote IMO, his first round draft pick this year (Jason Allen) was a bust, and he let the entire secondary including Surtain, Madison, and Sammie Knight go without adequate replacements - which turned out to be our only weakness on defense this year.

We have a really good defensive coordinator, Dom Capers, who did a lot of good this year with a scheme that put Jason Taylor in a position to have his best year ever. We should keep him and the offensive line coach (Hudson Houck), who also did a lot with so little talent on the O-line. But we need to hire an offensive-minded coach. Cam Cameron, the offensive coordinator from San Diego is my choice. If not him, we should try to get Norm Chow, the offensive coordinator from Tennessee, who was at USC before then. He is responsible for helping both Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart become great QBs. Pete Carrol the head coach at USC is another name I have heard mentioned who may be worth trying. The offense is where we need to improve most, and need to hire a coach that can do something to right that ship fast. Oh and Ricky wants to come back next year, which will definitely help. Just keep the bong away from him so he does not get suspended again.

Posted by MeLLyMeL on Jan-08-2007 03:24:

lol @ bong comment.

I agree if RIcky comes back it'll be cool. But when our o-line improves or Defense is horrid.

It sucks cuz its almost over and it won't be back for a looooooooooooong time. I just hope the Dolphins do alot of improving.

We are a lost cause.

And about Hootie + The Blowfish. I went to this ceremony for Dan Marino

@ Joe Robbie and they were the musical guests haha.

av1, i know that Pete Caroll has some head coaching xp in the nfl, but i'd hesitate from now on as far as college coaches go. Nick left a really bad taste in my mouth. The Dolphins have a lot of issues unfortunately. And I don't think it's going to take 1 year to solve 'em. Imo, I think Dom Capers will be the next coach. I heard they wanted to keep it in house, and Dom seems like the right choice(has headcoaching xp) And I hope they don't pick Mike Mularkey. I'd kill Huizenga.

I think they need to get one of the offensive coordinators I mentioned b4 as their next head coach. I know they are also probably gonna talk with the Steelers offensive coordinator Wisenhut and Bears defensive coordinator Rivera. I also am hesitant to try another college coach, yet Carrol has already proven himself in college and I found out today that he actually was interviewed by Huzienga himself on Sunday in Costa Rica. (where Carrol was spending his vacation). He is not my first choice by any means.

And yeah Mularkey, no way. Our offense sucked this year and he was in charge. We need a different offensive approach.

yea Caroll was interviewed, but so was Capers

No doubt they will probably interview 10 or more people before making any decisions.

Let's not. San Diego FTW. Patriots have won enough already. Should be a great game though.

BTW did you see Belichik throw that photographer out of the way when he was going to shake Mangini's hand after the game. Priceless. He is a bad ass.

yeah, i just wanted to say that ohio state got owned. looks like they gonna have to get used to that. no offense to any ohioans, but 41-14 is pretty pathetic to say the least.

GO GATORS!!!

im driving around town (Lawton, Oklahoma) waving my Gator flags proud with my Florida Gator license plate with border with UF allum on it... today is definitely a good day to be a Gator!!!

Posted by rhythmandtrance on Jan-10-2007 00:22:

Last night was incredible and all I can say is those Ohio State Fuckeyes - er Buckeyes played like they'd been rolling for days. It's great to be a Florida Gator, even in Texas Longhorn country!

we are still a game up in the SEC East... we'll make it to Atlanta and play Arkansas... we'll finish no worse than top 5

West Virginia and Louisville play each other so that will work it self out... but the winner will still be undefeated... fuckin weak schedules... how lame..

Ohio St. and UM play each other so that will work it self out

Notre Dame is my dark horse that needs to rise up and beat USC for the Gators to have a chance... or any team USC plays from here on out for that matter..

and hopefully the BCS will see UF's loss to Auburn which was on the road at night and barely lost as a better team than UT b/c UT lost at home and by a lot more to Oh St...

i want Auburn again in the SEC champ game... bring it bitches...

THIS IS AFTER RUTGERS BEAT LOUISVILLE, NOV 9th

GO GATORS!!!! WE GOT A SHOT NOW...

this season is reminding me a lot of the 95 season... the year before we won the championship...

we went to the national championship game undefeated vs nebraska.. lost 62-20.... (i still hate tommy fraizer)

FLTA is too young these days to even remember this... also TA is anti-college and more pro-nfl .... bummer..

did i mention GO GATORS!!

Congrats to the Gators, so happy they beat the Suckeyes. Last night's game shows why the Gators hired Meyer. He devised a perfect offensive gameplan to exploit weaknesses in Ohio State's zone defense, and a defensive scheme that made Troy Smith look like Hellen Keller out there. Shows you how little the oddsmakers and computers know for ranking Ohio State as being soooo much better than anyone else, and proves championships need to be decided on the field - where USC or even Boise State probably would have been a better game for Florida than the Suckeyes turned out to be.
