Here's a tip:

Go live in a country where they pay decent wages for hospitality so you don't need tips. Waitresses get about $13-$20 an hour here i think, depending on how old they are.

I am so mean

So the obvious solution is to sit outside her house until she leaves for work, then follow her, not being too obvious of course.

Theresa, what resturant are you working at?

Lion's Brewery Restaurant aka the Heuther restaurant.

If you plan to come in and bug me, come in on Friday after 6 when I am not having to follow someone around the entire night. LOL

Ahhh the Heuther... best pizza in town! I won't bug you but I do stop buy there from time to time. If I end up there for dinner some night when you're working you'd best be good.... Mrs. Hazard is hyper-critical of waitresses. If you impress her you earn large tip!

Eek. Now I am worried.

A friend of mine used to be a waitress and she had to carry about 60& of her own change on her at all times. Not sure if they still do that, maybe it's only for bartenders now, but I think that's a shitty thing.

We're "supposed" to have our own float, but there is a bartender with a till that I can get change from. So I think I will keep minimal coin on me.

EDIT: Speaking of work, I gotta go.. I start in a half hour.

oh shit, you're in canada!
always thought that must suck for waitstaff/delivery drivers to have to carry so much change on you at all times
i pretty much only deal in bills and when someone gives me a handfull of change they get the evil eye in return

Alright, so I went into work this evening, and found that things were much slower, and I got to learn a whole lot more. I actually used the computers, and served some tables pretty much alone. With that said, I still don't feel like I know how to do everything, especially with the computer systems, and am not sure about half the shit that I am supposed to ask people etc.

But tomorrow night, I will be working ALONE (after 2 training shifts and MINIMAL hands on experience with the systems,) for dinner and CLOSING.

Ok seriously... wtf?!

#1, I am not getting paid (but I get to keep my tips).
#2, I'm not even sure if I know how to close a table properly.
#3, I don't know where half the shit is.
#4, I will be working the DINNER SHIFT ON A FRIDAY NIGHT!!! BTW, that is *THE* busiest night of the week.
#5, I am expected to close, which requires a bunch of different tasks to be done, which I haven't even been told about.
#6, WTF!!

I am panicking. I forsee tomorrow night being disastrous for me

I cry.

So I just wrote a letter to the ministry of labour asking about the laws in regard to training payment, and to my situation tomorrow night.

I think they are ripping me off.

I think it's Friday night... but I could be wrong.

Meh, I live in a city with 2 universities and a college, and to me it seems that ALL the students come out Friday night (seeing as it is hard as shit to get into any place).

Yeah, anywhere within walking distance of University Ave is insanely busy on a Friday. It may be a little slower tonight though because all the festhallen are open.

Hmmm that's a good point. OKTOBERFEST starts tonight.

That actually takes a little of the stress off... thanks
