Back to the NBA: Bulls need Pau Gasol.

Bulls having a gritty, but small team can be exposed by teams playing power game. Wallace can only do so much. Having Gasol as inside presence will give the Bulls another dimension to their game that they so lack right now.

If I was Memphis, I wouldn't settle for anything less than Ben Gordon AND Luol Deng.

i wouldn't be surprised if the bulls are trying to make it a 2 for 2 deal, with pau gasol and maybe a seasoned veteran like eddie jones or chucky atkins for gordon and deng. if the bulls land a veteran with gasol, book them as the top 3 of the eastern conference.

For sure. I like Stiles's style of coaching. Bulls came a long way from the mess they were in after Jordan era.

The Official AI and Melo show is on. If they keep their egos in check, Denver may just explode. Though I'm not sure if George Karl is the best coach to rein in AI and Melo. They need a strict disciplinarian to keep them in check.

with all the bulls/gasol trade talks (frankly id be shocked if they gave up deng AND gordon), one has to wonder...

...how good would eddy curry look in a bulls uni right now? his weaknesses can be covered by big ben and look at the shooters that the bulls have.

just a thought

I dunno. Just how many good power forward/centres are there in NBA with Gasol's kind of skill? And how many Ben Gordon type players are there?

Gordon is good, but you can find similar type of players as him elsewhere...

Dirk for MVP....steve nash gets to much damn credit..he's a great solid player but is surrounded by a team of all stars that all they wanna do is run the ball. Just wait when more teams begin following the suns' strategy...tell me when Nash wins a ring with that shitty defense then I'll give him more credit.

his job as a point guard is to make others look good.

and I'd say he's doing a damn good job of it.

Ummm, they're only all-stars cause Nash MAKES them all-stars

Nash cant account for an entire team's defense...
Last i checked, the Mavs dont have any rings either
Dont get me wrong, i LOVE Nowitzki, but without Nash the Suns are a .500 team....making him the MVP

seriously. someone who says that kobe is better than jordan right now should be given a time machine and go back 10 years ago. if jordan didn't make that transition from being an all offensive guy to a all game guy in the late 80s, then we would be talking different stories here.

but i think the turning point of his career was when his bulls were losing heavily to the detroit bad boys pistons in the playoffs a lot, and he felt he needed to step his game a bit to go above the pistons. well, he did it. how did he do it ? he improved his defensive skills, which is something kobe hasn't tried to improve the past 4 to 5 years. he can shows flashes of good defense here and there, but jordan was non stop the whole game. that is what made jordan great. anyone can score points every night, but jordan was special, because he put up the points, and did his duties on the defensive end.

not only that, but he enstilled confidence to his team that they were a good team, which is something kobe has never done. in the past, he let shaq be the motivator of the team.

the closest to jordan's type of game is bill russell, larry bird, magic, and oscar robertson. they knew when to take over the game when their teams needed them the most, and were the prime motivators on their respective teams when needed most.

nothing against kobe, but he hasn't shown any type of leadership skills the great ones in the past had.

All-Star-Game is a joke.

Shaq plays only in 4 or 5 games and is voted as a starter while the top two MVP candidates Dirk and Steve aren't selected???

And Steve Nash can't participate in the All-Star-Game at all because his Phoenix-Coach is the coach of the Western All-Stars???

Posted by bananas on Jan-26-2007 14:22:

It has always been a joke

d'antoni will definitely choose him as a reserve. i'm just shocked at how far behind he was in the voting behind kobe and t-mac.

Posted by Kapedano on Jan-26-2007 17:38:

t-mac is overated, they defently should of put has in that starting 5. I mean a two time mvp back to back? wtf. and yao as a center? come on, the guy has barely played and they still vote for him. freaking chinese people.
