None of my friends were ever attractive to me... and even if they were, I don't think I was attractive to them either.

Love Poundin' Sensation

I know 2 different friends of mine who tried online dating for fun (they were both perfectly capable of finding their own dates).

Both are in serious relatinships with the online person now!

I doubted it at first (and was even scared of it...too many stalkers and sexual predators)....but now I see that it can work!

Ya, I can definitely not seeing it being the way to go for everybody. Though it's what I find works best for me.

I think 5-10 years ago I would have been scared of it to. But so much has changed with online friendship/relationships. I remember when I first told my parents about visiting people I had met on the internet they thought it was weird, but it's totally different now.

Looks like I am be back onto the dating scene. Although I am not convinced that it is a great way to meet people...

Online dating is so 2008 now..... its all about dating/social networking apps on your cell LOL.

P.S:- Speed dating is the most desperate way to meet someone.

Posted by Ozmozis on Apr-02-2009 13:37:

I personally dont see a difference in meeting someone at a club, walking down the street or online. However, meeting people online is a bit more unique for various reasons.

Ive met and dated several girls from online. One whom I fell in love with, but things really f***** up in that relationship (not going into the details, but Im glad I got the f*** out of that one). Ive had some good and bad experiences, and I would talk about those, but that would mean Id have to sit here for 1 hour and type an essay.

I remember the first ever person I met online was this chick over ICQ (it was the cool thing back then, chooon! choon!) and we ended up going to a rave together. (For some reason Elvis Stojko pops up in my head because I think she was talking about him hahaha) can you tell this was a while ago? lol

Nonetheless, I think meeting people online is harmless. So what if you have a bad experience meeting someone online? Have you not had any bad experiences meeting someone person to person (i.e. rejection etc) Yes, just like the clubs downtown, online dating also has its creeps lol

However, I think one of the biggest flaws of online dating is that when you meet someone and things work out and there is that connection. I find that 98% of the time, those who start dating still keep their profiles active. This later causes bigger issues between the two.

Also, online dating is a quick fix for some people, short term dating. That can be an issue because people dont state that at the beginning of the date, causing more problems later.

So people who think online dating is weird, its not.

I rather meet someone online, talk to them, and get to know them, rather than meet at a club, most likely in a drunken state rambling about stupid shit.

Well, I was the best man at the wedding so if the groom can no longer perform his duties then its only natural that the best man step in.

Dude... best man isn't like being the runner up at Ms. Oktoberfest.

That said, since you are my brother you would have to marry my widows should I die.... according to the book of Leviticus anyway.
