Steve, I enjoy your set too mate.
Great night!
Steve i thought your set was really good..again. Twice in a week mate! Crowd definately loved Missing,Heaven Scent and More than Anything. I dont know if you kept a tracklist or anything because there were a few tracks i would like to know. Played at 12.10, 12.50 and 1:05...I should've taken videos of them but was saving energy.
PvD was Awesome!
My favoourites were Needs to Feel,Crush,For An Angel, Constellation, Love all the pain away, Feels like home, Satelite, Solaris/Atlantis city...in fact the whole thing. Bit over Anthem but its a crowd pleaser.
I sOOOo wanted him to play "Binary Finary - 1998" on the keyboard!!!
Just like this!!...

I know I said I didn't want to read any reviews but I couldn't help myself while I was at work today.
Fuck sounds like an awesome night, soooo pissed I can't see him when he plays here

| Originally posted by SteveStrangis dude, i ran into you last night and you mentioned that i played a great set then you throw this on a forum... nice work man. But thats your opinion, second of all Agent 86 cancelled his gig and i had to take his shift, which caught me off gaurd since i only brought the tracks i was going to play from 11:15 - 12:30 - so as a result some of the stuff i was going to play in the first hour i had to re program to a 2 and half hour warm up set and i was told to keep the bpm level alittle low, anyways thats somethem else. 3rdly - id be the first to admit if my mixing was dodgy, but i know for a fact my mixing was very smooth last night, maybe went out one or two tracks for like 2 bars then quickly corrected, maybe it was the bad sound system or maybe it was where u positioned yourself in the club. anywys thanks heaps to guys that came to see me play, the reaction from 'heavens scent' and 'more then anything' will stick in my mind forever |
PVD is the Bomb! Nothing more to say
Mike Nichol INSANE what else would he be
Steve Strangis Loved his set
stevie i thought u played a sick set. perfect warm up set imo! heaven scent was the bomb! awesome crowd reaction
pvd... phwor what can you say about him. he is just the absolute god. i was continuously in awe of him and what he was doin with the music, just unbelievable. the way that he would edit all the tracks to perfection to fit in with eachother, his live k/b playing, his mixing, everything was just supreme.
the crowd i thought were really good... never really seen bigger reactions to big tracks at any other event
HORO, i was hanging for 1998 as well
oh well cant get it all!
top night. crowd was awesome in terms of reactions, way better than gods reminded me a lot of sasha&digweed last year. pvd is incredible. absolute magician behind the decks. bring on the sunrise set at kryal.
That set from pvd was absolutely mental. Seen him a few times before, and this was easily the best.
That whole live keyboard element thing he had going took that set to another level.
I won't be forgetting that one for a long time.
Props to Hardware for bringing the man out....Kryal sunrise set is going to be incredible me thinks (hoping for a lot of his old skool material).

Might be able too do Kryal with ya if your goin'
Unbelievable...
loved the venue, i'm a backpacker staying in melbourne for 4 months (been her 2 months) I've never been to the met before but it was perfect for the size of the crowd.
As someone said earlier on in the thread, when you stood in the middle of the dancefloor the sound was awesome! His set.... i was speechless. Right from the start he just went for it. His Set from cream amnesia in 2003 was one of my personal favourites and this reminded me slightly of it. Banging... all the way. I had gone off trance a wee bit but this set has brought it all back.
Couldn't believe how fast the 3 hours went by. I have about 18min of video from my camera, will see if i can upload it. Dunno what the quality is like either, we'll see.
Anyway, highlight of my trip so far. And i've been to a good few festivals, including Erick Morillo's 11 hour set at Home in sydney. This was far far better, and he only played for 3 hours.
Such a memorable night..
Not sure if i should go see him again in sydney, my visa runs out 2 days after the gig so i'm tempted. Just not sure if it'll be a waste as he might play a similar set and the venue isn't really that intimate. Think he's playing at the show grounds?
anywho, awesome, simply awesome.
nelly
PS. Does anyone know if this set was recorded? It would be amazing if it was
I'm coming out of forum retirement (temporarily) to make one comment about how good pvd's set was on Friday night... WOW!!.. Blown away..
Did he play any of these tunes?
Simon Patterson - Bulldozer
K-System - Samba 69

shame i couldnt make it..he was ace in ibiza aswell... kryal should be interesting
heya everyone
all ive got to say is my dream came true, i had a moment with the big man himself and he acknowlaged me with what i was trying to say, so without actually face to face talking with him, a part of my dream had come true, when ever he looked at me during the night my heart skipped a beat or 2!
i was right up the front, directly infront of him majority of the night with walter, anita, ego, narc, raddles and sunrise
great to meet you sunrise and im glad that i could help you out! and cheers for the drink lol, ya kinda just whent *poof* and dissapeared lol, was looking around for you after i was talking to Dman and his lady friend
lol but yeah ya dissapeared lol, wraped ya found me down front though! unreal snaps man great job! thanks heaps!
now pplz bagging out stevie boy.... just relax orite! ok sure everyone has their own opinion (we hear this after every fkn event lol) i am on the VERY FOR STEVIE side of things lol, sure it was great that stevie got a tonn of extra time to play (congrats lol, i was wondering why you didnt get off at the time ya were sposed to but dude i was ssssoooo much happyer for it!). ya gotta put yaself in his shoes for a second... being sprung with the task of playing for so much longer has got to b EXTREEEEMLY stressful but yet exciting, i know i would b shitting my dacks big time if it happened to me! so to adapt his set and bassicaly throw away any organisation for his sloted time, he did bloody well!!! so extreeeeeem congrats to the big fella!
great quality as per usual, you got the gig for a damn good reason and im sure the other bundle of djs who have worked their way into actually playing have to look up to you not in a jelous way, but in a good sport kind of mentality and congratulate you! i sure do bloody look up to you in awe lol! and its unreal that it doesnt go to your head and your an ass about it! your a fkn unreal dude and it makes your sets more enjoyable because of when i do actually get to drink with ya at meetings n stuff and talk to you that your down to earth and friendly, plus for actually listening when people talk to you and have a convo instead of "ill just look like i give a shit to make him/her happy and shut em up"
Im extreeeemly jelous when you shook the great man's hand when u were finishing up and he was starting!! lol
on that note, when everyone turned into total animals when paul came down to do some signing and everything, all i could hope for was to get to shake the mans hand and try say thank you to him... but i wasnt that luckey, just extreeemly greatful for visiting us and making me smile the whole night he played, making a very very long dream of mine to come true just cant b put into words, its priceless and speachless, totaly heartfelt gratitude!
Plus i did get to have my own little moment with him. what happened was that he looked directly at me, must have realised i was exstatic by my eyes and smile, i pointed to him, pointed to me, then pointed to my other hand with my index finger str8 up! meaning to say "you are my number 1" i dont know if he was just being polite or understood but gave me a smile and a bit of a nod.
highlights of my night has to be equal 1st possition for crush and for an angel as the encore! Both songs have massive massive massive significance to me, both tunes almost made me ball my fkn eyes out it was hitting me that hard and made me that emotional!!! very overwhelming!
you guys know who u r but im extreeeeemly sorry for giving you the shits and for the "accident" i feel realy bad and still do, im so sorry! yas all know how excited i get and i just could not help but lash out at a few points so im sorry for the down side of lashing out, im sure you understand what this night ment to me!
