holy crap!
watched it today, thought it was a fantastic end, and i agreed with the commentators that even though stewards were investigating i didnt think anything would happen from it but now just watched the news and saw they penalised hamilton, its pretty crazy. like he said in the press conference, he could either crash into kimi or go off on the escape road, i dont see why he can be penalised for that. the only thing i could think was that he took too long to give back the position? which made it easier for him to pass again? but then when he passed kimi again they were both weaving, kimi could have gone further on the inside but went outside. stupid end after a great race. i reckon webber should have pitted for inters as well after what heidfeld did!
dammit!
I think praise has to be given to nick heidfeld for the final dash during the wet weather conditions. Hes really good in it.
He made the smart decision to come in for wet weather tyres and now got 2nd. His team was like.."Wait, are you sure??"
And hes like "look I know what I'm doing aight?"
Brilliant.
ya nick is doing amazing this year.... Has he signed for next year? I hope we get rid of kov. and bring in nick.

Originally posted by noikeee Umm no, Kubica is generally kicking his ass. He's been having too many problems in qualifying and has had some really shit races where he couldn't get into the points. He's still a good driver though, has had some occasional good weekends, like this one. BMW shouldn't get rid of him IMO.

Originally posted by TOR He would have gone past Kimi later on anyway. Hamilton was much quicker at that point than the Ferrari. Questionable decision by the stewards indeed.

Originally posted by trewqy I think kubica is limping just as bad as nick recently..maybe its the car, but I find it hard to believe that BMW could have cocked it all away after a brilliant start to the season. If anything, a car should get better as the season progresses.

there is no point for BMW to push the development of this car; they are secured in 3rd place. They now switched focus for 2009.
I know that Kubica is bitter about this, because he's fighting for a podium finish in the general standing, now that Kimi is not on form.
After the race, he said he hopes that the team will now help him, like they've been trying to help Heidfeld to sort out his problems.

The more I think of the penalty, the more I think it makes sense. Janrno Trulli summed it up pretty well:
quote:
"In my opinion Hamilton got an advantage by cutting the chicane," Trulli told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Had he stayed on the road, he wouldn't have had the speed to overtake the Ferrari. "In the same way at Monza someone could cut the first chicane, catch a rival's draft, and overtake him under braking at Roggia. "When you attack on the outside, you do it at your own risk, because who's on the inside has the right to do the corner. If there isn't enough room, then you lift. "Had there been a wall there, instead of the surfaced escape route, would Lewis have attacked anyway? Had there been gravel, he wouldn't have had the chance to attack when rejoining the track because of dirty tyres."
Amazing pole and victory for Vettel! He really drove his heart out, and deserved the race. Fantastic pace, right strategy/set up, managed his tires well, and didn't make one mistake.
Great to see some old Minardi boys finally earning a victory.
Great fucking job by Vettel.
Glad to see the podium mixed up a bit, and he really deserved to win. Given the conditions, one could argue that he did one hell of a job. ![]()

fantastic stuff from vettel!! he's been doing pretty good the last few races so i wasn't entirely suprised he had pole, but did great job keeping it and getting the win!

now vettel is ahead of him in the championship hehehe
great race once again. Monza, Spa etc always bring the good out of them. Delighted for the lad for his win, and with Kubica, Hamilton & many more youngsters coming through the future is bright. Perhaps need to lose Button, Coulthard, Barrichelo, Nakajima & possibly Kovaleinen who doesn't seem interested usually and it'd be a great roster.

Originally posted by pmoisse Had he switched to intermediates on his first pitstop, he would have sacrificed a few seconds a lap at first, but then gained that back easily when the track really started to dry out. He could have even scammed the win if everything happened to fall into place.
Ya that was good for torro rosso team but i honestly did not enjoy the race..... Cant wait for the night race though!
