Posted by PatMcGroin on Jun-25-2002 17:17:

sweet! i'll grab the ticket asap

now onto my next question....and this may have already been posted...if so direct me to the thread....

what tracks do you expect to hear at the love parade and which will make you go nuts???

Posted by jp on Jun-25-2002 17:22:

There are 50 trucks with 30 different styles, but me especially like the Tunnel style (fast trance).

The true kickass truck is off course the Northevents float with Cosmic Gate, Dj Dawn, Gary D and Melanie di Tria:

PHAT HARD HARDER HARDEST HARDSTYLE!

Blows us of the roof!

Posted by djdawn on Jun-26-2002 07:45:

JP, you keep forgetting about The Crow, but maybe you didn't know that he = Drugface & berdruck, too!!!
also DJ Gollum who is behind Bassraiders, Lars Palmas, Langenhagen...

this should be soooo much fun!!!

@Pat: I always hear music that doesn't make me go nuts but instead "mmmh, interesting" (to quote PvD) MANY floats play strange techno/electro/house tunes. So definitely watch out for Tunnel, Vandit, North Events, EFX (if they have one this year)...

Posted by jp on Jun-26-2002 10:44:

Hey! I didnt't know that!

Sure cool to see that even within the spectrum of hardtrance all subdivisions are represented on the Northevents truck

Have you already thought about what records you're gonna bring?

I don't know how the d.j.'s at the truck will share their time at the decks... do you have a timetable or do you just rotate every 15-20 minutes?

We've been talking about what to wear, what to bring etc for the last two weeks. I think the girls like the supersoaker 9000 turbo...

Gonna buy the Lovestern tickets this thursday when I'm in Kleve.

Ps: we will not being going to any party on friday, we'll visit some friends or go to a bar and try to get as much sleep as we can. We will have the biggest meal possible on friday, cause we'll need all the energy

Website related:

-we have one digital 128 mb photocamera with us so we can post the photos on www.loveparade.tk on sunday
-I reserved around 250 mb of webspace for videos (DV cam)

we'll try to make a timetable and stick to it this year! last two years were a bit confused. 2000 Gary D didn't want to leave the tables and played for 2 hours (only a total of 6 hours available) so everybody else only had 30 minutes. Last year I got to play almost 90 minutes which was great...don't think I'll get so much time this year.
Looking forward to the pictures!

JP, your tickets are on their way!!!

kickass!

let me know when and where I can pick them up

gonna drive at least 225 km/h

btw: any idea if Tunnel truck and Northevents truck will be the first trucks starting from Brandenburger Tor and E.R.Platz like in 2000 and 2001?

unfortunately the chances are slim for us. A different company picks the order of the trucks this year and they don't like the NE organizer too much (or not enough to give him 1st place).
But it hasn't been decided afaik...

The whole shitstorm with Worldcom in America is a shitter for us. Dj Mdma have you transferred your cash into Euros yet? I haven't

A week ago I could have got a euro for 60p, now I get a Euro for 1. This means my spending power is about a THIRD lower.

In short, I'm going to get robbed of a few hundred quid when I go to Germany

I don't know whether to change my money now or wait. Things might get a little better and the pound's value might rise, but it could get worse.

By the way, since I'm staying in Berlin nearly two weeks, is there a cheap long term all-travel pass I can get? One of those tickets that last you a week and you can use all public transport in the city as much as you want?

I still don't know what I'm going to wear. I'm very low on clothes so I'm going shopping this weekend. I'm not into cyber clothes, but I do want to wear something stupid. Any ideas?

Are u sure about the Euro exchange rate?? I looked in the paper this morning, and the tourists rate, (which is no reflection of the buisiness rate) is still 1.48 Euro's to the Pound, so for every 100 u exchange u still get almost 150 Euro's.

I p[robably won't have any money when I get to Germany, cos I get paid on the Friday, so I'll leave everything to my credit card

I can't wait, only a couple of weeks to go. Just don't forget to meet me at the airport in the Afternoon again!!

Posted by jp on Jun-27-2002 12:01:

Got me 6 Lovestern tickets, only 24,02 euro !

Posted by dj_mdma on Jun-27-2002 15:18:

WHAT, thats so cheap!!! Thats 4 Euro's each!!!! Thats only a couple of pounds!!!!

Where?! Gimme, gimme, gimme

Yeah sorry my mistake. Yesterday they were saying it could head that way, and talking about convergence, and I assumed it was near a 1:! relationship.

Things aren't as bad as I'd feared. Previously we'd have got about 17 euros for a tenner, now we'll get 15. I'm staying for 2 weeks so I'll probably take 3-400 hundred quid spending money (hopefully not spending it all), so the drop in value of the pound will cost me a little, but not a great problem.

At the airport I'll wear my Newcastle United strip which I proudly got the other day There can't be many Newcastle supporters in Lubeck! I'll be the podgy geordie with a big fuck off rucksack probably slightly hammered as I can't wait to sample all the German lagers. I heard that there's a beer in Germany takes 7 minutes to pour! That puts Guinness to shame! Anyone know it's name?

We need some cakes for Devil Mania though, cos they're cheaper than beer and I'm on a tight budget. I'm not sure where we'll get hold of them, I'll probably have to ask around the club in German looking like a twat!

By the way, I had my heart set on Love Airport but if tickets are that cheap I am going to Galaktika!

Posted by dj_mdma on Jun-27-2002 23:21:

Alex, u have plenty of time to explore hamburg, Me flight leaves at like 16.30 and I get to Germany at about 19:30!

Then its Devil MAnia straight off the plane! WOO-HOO!

Lol @ the Podgy Geordie comment, I instantly thought of fat versions of Ant & Dec!

I'll send a pic so u know what to look for.

Also I think we need to post up our real names!

Mine would be LAM

Posted by evil_bastard on Jun-28-2002 07:40:

I haven't got that broad a geordie accent, you should understand most of what I say. I've got more of an accent than Ant & Dec, but then who hasn't! I take it you're a wide-mouthed cockney geezer

There shouldn't be too much trouble meeting. It's almost certain your plane will park exactly where ours did in the morning, so we'll know exactly where to wait.

It seems odd that it costs me 30 to coach it to London and 25 to fly to Germany. Lam, do you know roughly how much it'll cost for a bus from Victoria to Stansted and what time the latest long distance buses like that set off?

Posted by dj_mdma on Jun-28-2002 09:41:

I'll be the first to put my ahnd and say "I have no idea" about the buses to Stanstead. But I'll take a guess at the price , probably no more than 8 or something. I'll look it up.

What I do know, is u can get there by Tube and then train.

Flights are cheaper than coach generally. It costs less to fly to Scotland than it does to coach or drive. I have no idea why tho.

And of course I'm a Cockney Geezer, innit?

Question

What about the Love from Above??

Does anybody know how to book a ticket, or buy it online?? Or do I need to wait until I reach Berlin??

for DJ Dawn (GERMAN)

Hey Dawn,

Meld dich mal bitte!!!

for the rest:

you are crazy!!! Flying from the UK to Germany by plane for a party... you are really Tranceaddicted!!!! Hope you will feel fine here.. In the Land of the football worldcup winner! AND: Hey you english european... when will your country introduce the Euro??? It's terrible to change the money for a shopping in London!!!

@JAV: try out a computer ticket service... maybe you will get a chance for a ticket? Here in germany you can book the tickets at www.cts.de ... maybe there is an international link?

Posted by evil_bastard on Jun-28-2002 17:08:

Britain won't join the Euro until the pound is more or less equal in value. You guys and the rest of Europe would love us to join now because we'd be robbing ourselves at the current exchange rate. We'll probably join when it is more convenient for us.

I'd like to see us join it and I hope it will happen soon. If anyone will do it I think Blair will; he is desperate to make it look like he's doing anything right now, he has thousands of meaningless schemes left right and centre. If the pound falls in value he'll join the first chance he gets, but right now it would be risky.

It'd make excursions into Europe a lot less complicated
