I agree on the timing of the reservation, but we should pick out our "plan A" venue ASAP because the location might affect attendance.

Mak is out if we want to do it in the evening - they only serve it for lunch and I think they close at 6 or 7 anyway.

I think Bosha serves it all day, assuming they're even still around - like I said, can't find any info. Or I suppose we can pick one of the places in Etobicoke... Royal Meats isn't that far from the 427 so it's actually not a terrible drive for me, maybe even easier than normal downtown. And I think it's sorta kinda close to Kipling station - I guess I could drive a few people from there.

Any recommendations, Miki? Did you call any others?

seems like Rixo is easiest to get to by ttc
it is just north of pape and danforth at pape and o'connor, the bus ride is not more than 10 minutes (you can take 2 different buses, 25 or 81 so the service is really frequent)
another way to get there is to go to broadview and take a bus from there, it's a bit longer i think about 15 min to get there but im pretty sure there are also at least 2 bus lines you can take

rixo is not big, im not sure what is their totally capacity, from what i remember not more than 20-30
i just tried calling and they are only open until 9pm
size can actually work in our favour as we can book the whole place to ourselves

First of all, harassing is a pretty strong word and I really don't think that's what I was doing. More importantly, there is a very good reason: so people who are coming or are interested in coming don't have to wade through pages of post-whoring in order to get updates.

Oh and about making it close to downtown - that's obviously a good idea but unfortunately there just aren't many (any?) places downtown for this. The ethnicity in question tends to be clustered around the Etobicoke/Mississauga and Vic Park areas. But if anyone knows a place downtown then please do pass along the name and one of us will look into it...

Edit: And 10 seconds before I submit, one gets posted... I don't know Rixo, are they good? I don't think many places will be open past 9 or 10 PM, so that shouldn't be an issue. Capacity might though, if they can only fit 20... we'll have to look into that.

And I REALLY hope we can find a place easy to get to from downtown, and if it involves taking buses can I meet with someone to travel with? I get so confused with ttc I normally walk everywhere.

my vote goes to Rixio as well since it's accessible via the ttc. but if we decide on a place in the west-end i'm willing to take up to 3 people with me. we can work out car-pooling in the roll call if it comes to that.

I'm okay with Rixo's location, looks like it's almost straight off the DVP. Not that the DVP is much fun on a Saturday evening, but... whatever.

Now we just need to find out if they're OK capacity-wise.

The date is absolutely not being changed at this point unless 3/4 of the people on the roll call bail out.
