Oh! I'm sorry, my English isn't 100%. I thought they meant no cameras of any kind except for the 'still camera' like the kind you develop the film.

My apologies, just trying to offer friendly advice I've never had VIP, but the line can still take up to 30 minutes?

If you hadn't already heard, it's impossible to get drinks at the VIP bar because there are so many people. Try to find the obscure ones that don't have all the people or else you're not getting anything unless you offer $20 tips.

"VIP Area 2" worked very well for this at Monster Massive. The bartenders were just standing around bored waiting for anyone to come up and order something! Just don't tell anyone!

How will the special Cabana work? Is that the extra-special VIP set up or can VIP people wandering in there as well?

Please feel comfortable to ask me anything, I'll answer all questions that I know! I met some very nice people while asking lots of questions when traveling through Europe and it's the least I can do to return the favor!

Bring on the question!

Posted by SFtrance on Dec-29-2008 07:00:

A moment of panic before it turns into utter chaos at my residence. Is anyone else having difficulty accessing their tickets through Ticketmaster? No go for both orders! I'll call tomorrow but I won't sleep well.

Posted by DaveT on Dec-29-2008 07:14:

Getting drinks quickly at Monster Massive this year was never any problem in the main VIP behind the main stage. Had problems int he past, but not this year.

My BIG tip for quick entry....go to the left side of the VIP parking lot..basically hoover street. The wait to get in there was basically nothing at Monster Massive while all the other entrances were insane.

It's hidden, which is why. You have to go around behind the VIP parking lot and the entrance was behind it....like right where the red "exit" sign is on the map below

Just my tip. We had VIP, but if we had GA we woulda been inside in less than five minutes. Through the other entrance, probably an hour or two...or three.

Great point DaveT! I am a witness.

The only thing about this map though is that it's not marked on it as an entrance at all. But it was on the monster massive map.

Hopefully it's a misprint. I don't see why it wouldn't be an entrance still other than that's the area where people hang around and then jump the gates when security is scarce. Have seen this happen at more than one MM/TAO at that same spot and like 20-30 people jumping at a time.

The Box Office that's usually right next to the entrance isn't marked either, but the one right at the left-front of the VIP parking lot is and I think that entrance on Hoover St would still make sense as it'd be real close to that ticket booth. And that vrry spot is still marked as an exit and every other "exit" is also an entrance.

I'd still give it a shot. Can only help if it's open and not really hurt if it's not. No 'area' of music really goes that far going by the TOA map, but it never really did at MM either despite it saying so on the map and the outside thick barrier line of the whole TAO event matches with MM still...just the colored in areas are diff.

Here's the MM map...you'll see the GA entrance marked on hoover st.

Yes. I have had this problem twice in the last year because Go Ventures makes the decision to prevent ticket printing a few days before the show. You will need to call Ticketmaster and then they will give you a new confirmation number and have your ticekts placed at Will Call. Take that new number, a copy of your email, your CC or debit card that you charged it on and your DL to Will Call. It's unfortunate that they do this as the whole point of ordering them and using ticketfast is to stay away from Will Call IMO. They will refund your ticketfast price if you ask when you call. This time we just had tickets sent in the mail so there would be no issues. HTH!

Good luck.

Drink lines this year at MM in the VIP were wonderful for us too! Lines all shorter than 10 minutes each time

But we sat in line at the VIP enterance you are talking about on Hoover and we were in line for over an hour just for the security. How they had it set up made it 3 lines- one to get into the gated parkinglot, one to go through security and then one to get our tickets scanned. We missed most of Markus by the time we got in there Lesson learned again. We will leave for the SA much earlier this time! 2 more days!!! YAY!

Posted by Banora on Dec-29-2008 19:48:

So even with the VIP entrance arriving around, say, 9 I would still possibly wait?

Should I take the bus/subway to this event rather than trying to bribe a cab? I could take the bus up Figueroa then walk the rest of the way.

Posted by SFtrance on Dec-29-2008 20:30:

Well these inept morons have yet to send me the pdf file necessary to download my tickets. I've called twice and its the same jump through the hoops.

edits: I needs sleep.

Yeah, that VIP line along the gate was F'd......LUCKKILLLY, some guy who used to hang with Michelle's (my fiance) sister years back and works for GV and was right at the VIP entry gate as we were wondering aroudn wondering WTF was going on with the line and pulled us in. That was the only part of our adventure in trying to get in. Yeah, it was a pain in the butt overall. Got there to see JOC before Markus too, but missed his whole set and got in during Markus' first track. Actually had a ton of fun at MM though...unexpectedly!

If you take a cab, tellt hem to go a back way and not down Figueroa to avoid traffic. I've never encountered traffic going the back way. Ever.

And if they do the line the same way again, then yeah...you may wait.

A big part of the problem in the VIP line at MM is they ran out of VIP wristbands and it took like 25-30 minutes to for the guy to go grab another box of them and get back. Yet another part of my great adventure getting in (there's like five parts in all!)....was three people back from getting my wristband and inside and they run out of them!! Gar. Made me miss the rest of JOC's set an by the time they got new bands. I was fortunate to only be a few people back in line when this happened, even with the long wait, because when it was over the all the VIP lines at the security area were crazy long.

ITA. This could save so much time.

Ok. This makes total sense as no one was being allowed in for a while as we stood in the security line. That night was the worst in terms of VIP lines IMO.

Another really dumb question, but my aunt was curious when I told her where the event is.

Do you think there will be coat check, and if not locker check? Surely it being a sports arena, you could just check a locker or something to put all your crap in?

I never recall seeing lockers or a coat check at the SA. The Sports Arena is an old basketball stadium and it's quite run down. The chances are very slim IMO.

HTH. Hope to see you there

Damn, I was really hoping to not carry my bag around all night. Uuugh.

You'll spot me right away, I'll be the most overdressed person there.

Any idea where all the taxis will be after the show? Or is it better to call them ahead of time?
Unless of course you guys know of a better way to get to LAX.
Thanks.
