The guy you meet from Pheonix have his own Aly & Fila shirt? A pretty cool one. He tried to get up into the booth a few times to get pics and stuff...did was like a kid about them lol.

I didn't think Aly would be playing so I wasn't disappointed in that. At least Taj didn't call Fila "Mr. Aly and Fila" hehe.

After watching my longtime friend fupaking say what's up to all the TAs at the show last night (DaveT, etc.), I knew it was time to stop lurking and come on in to the forum.

As others have said, Fila was awesome last night.

Sometimes when you go see Armin or Markus, you end up going home saying "Damn, he played really progressive last night, I'm not sure I've heard many of those tracks before."

Not so with this show. Fila played true to their style and that's exactly what I needed. Hard productions, loud, banging, high energy. Aly & Fila the way you know it and the way you love it. :-)

I loved their hour at ASOT 350 back in '08 (which introduced me one of my favorite epic tracks of last year, Philippe El Sisi's "Never After"). If you liked that hour, you probably loved Fila's set on Friday night.

Hadn't been to 1015 in a while having mostly been to Ruby Skye lately, but man, but I forgot how f'ing great it is to get that close to the decks to watch the guys work. Will definitely have to get back there some more.

Highlight of the night for me was hearing FKN's "Still Time" (A&F Remix, of course). Looked around and was really happy with how well those around me knew the tracks. That's always awesome. 50% of any time out is the DJ and the other 50% is the energy around. The crowd wasn't big, but there was a core group of people having a helluva lot of fun. Mixing it up with them was great.

And if you want any sense of the energy of the place, I could describe it to you, but it's probably better that I just offer you this video I took during Sunlounger - Lost (A&F Remix):

http://qik.com/video/1035564

The crowd energy about 2/3rds the way through the video says it all. (Sorry for the poor quality, it's just an iPhone video. And next time I won't sing along - my bad. Didn't expect that I'd be posting the video up on TA. Oops. :-))

Would love to do it again. Aly & Fila, I see that your schedule is empty for the last week of March. Here's one man's vote for you to come to Miami for WMC. Drinks on me and fupaking if you do.

Thank you Aly & Fila. Thank you TAs and attendees for bringing good vibes to the party. Thank you Taj and everyone else who helped organize it. Incredible music. Incredible night.

Ya. He did have his own A&F shirt on. lol. That's actually how I met him. He was standing by the booth and I asked him if he knew where I could get the shirts that I ordered.

Haha, yes. Correct. But yeah, awesome night it was. Fila played a great set. Your set w/ John Beavers was great as well Blurr. Got there right in time. The only that sucked was that we left right before Taj was about to come on. It's all good though.

Posted by groovedaddy21 on Feb-16-2009 04:54:

Like everyone else, I thought the event was superb! I couldnt ask for a better night. Blurr and John Beaver's set was so much fun and they played some of my fav tracks. If you were listening to the live broadcast you would think it's just one person playing. Fila didn't hold back and just let us have it! This was the kind of trance i was craving for.

I got a chance to meet some new TA's finally! There's something special about meeting fellow TA's, it's like you've been friends from previous life. I wanted to thank Blurr personally for the shirts but he was busy the whole night. I'm gonna wear the shirt when they come to Vegas. I hope he wasn't kidding when he said he may come either in Apr or May.

I took these videos. The first one my wife requested it. He may have planned to play this track anyway since they recently made this remix but i'm glad he played it anyhow. I was surprised he didn't play 'key of life'. I was totally expecting it that's why i didn't request it.

David did you check the file to see if maybe itwas captured on the local pc?? I am hopeful that it did but afraid that some cable got looose and nothing was coming to the sound card...

dont think it was as I asked him and he said he forgot too I made sure to have two ways of recording on the system, shoutcast and harddiskogg (real time recorder and encoder). both have to be manually started though.

I recorded the ambiance on my zoom h2 but i put it right next to the monitor so its a bit loud and not the best quality but you can hear the crowd. Going to upload it now and have Blurr go through it cause I can't for awhile. I need to work on class projects and catch up on a lot of stuff including pics.

This was the first time my gf and I got to party at a club in SF, and it was quite the experience.

We had pre-sale tix, arrived around 10:30pm, and got in without a hitch. I thought the first room was the main room with the spiffy lights on the ceiling, and was trying to figure out if that room downstairs by the coat check was some magic room that opens up or what. Luckily, I caught some flashes from the "real" main room as we sat on the seats near the stairs, ventured in.. and.. WOW.

The main room NICE. Very high ceiling which is a definite plus since Spin makes you feel a bit claustrophobic. The setup reminded me of Monster Massive from a couple years back, with directional lights along the edges, and two video screens on either side of the stage.

I thought it was a bit cold when we first got in, and was literally shivering with a long sleeve shirt, lol. I'm from SD, so maybe the temp is fine for the locals to handle?

Was there only one person from A&F spinning the whole night?!

Anyway, I prefer harder tracks, and while there were a few thrown in here and there during A&F's set, it was a bit too fluffy for both my girlfriend and I (we prefer sets by Armin/Markus/SvD/etc). The set was like... Armin's style from 3-4 years ago without any hard-hitting tracks for the most part, and was a bit of a let down for me.

However..

Whoever opened and closed the night, you guys are FU-CKING AWESOME! I swear when we walked in and some crazy ass beat was just rubbing that hard bass into our chests, my gf and I looked at each other and said, "damnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!" It felt like we were in the middle/end of an epic Armin set where he just throws the hardest tracks he could find at everyone. Amazing.

Then A&F ruined it, j/k

And finally, whoever was closing ripped it up again, and wow, you guys made my night. Sorry.. not too familiar with the names, but all I know is that SF DJ's know how to party!

A couple things about the club in this mini-review. The club/event seemed to attract more of an older crowd than what we're used to. Somebody's aunt/uncle/dad/grandfather was there, but hey.. no judgment passed, just observing

What irked me the F off was this older lady who was un-fucking-able to handle whatever drugs she was on, and kept rocking back and forth, bouncing off my shoulder as we were seated along the side. I really, really didn't want to start any shit with the senior citizens in the club, but that almost killed it for me. SONOFABITCH.

A lot of people left around 2am, which is consistent with San Diego. At that point the dance floor opened up, and since I thought the closer was better than the headliner anyway, that was perfectly fine and got my fix.

I'd go back for whoever was opening and closing, and I'm sure I saw them last year @ POP. I tried getting some CD's that were being passed out, but.. no luck

Thanks for the crazy night, though, much appreciated

hahaha i cant help that im skinny and i eat a ton ok! anyway front and back worked. I used the front for the first few recordings and those came out good. when you plug it in, the audio interface program should pop up stating whats connected as it can be used for mic or line in, unless youre plugging it into the headphone then ya it wont work

nope...

Posted by Trancelover24 on Feb-16-2009 21:56:

At the momment Gilbert has the file that was recorded with his portable recorder, the quality is really bad and can't be fixed, if anything else gets added, it will make the file more unlistenable.

I seeked help from Fila's friend but the only thing that he could do with that file is create that tracklist!

So for now the only file that is out there is the 35 minutes available below....

Aly_and_Fila_-_Live_1015_Folsom_2009.02.13.mp3 - 41.76MB

DJ_Blurr_-_John_Baver_-_Live_1015_Folsom_2009.02.13.mp3 - 83.86MB
