Most Germans speak English anyway. Especially those who are working in/with international organizations.

While I do find German girls hot, that is not the reason.

Yes it makes it much less important than other factors.

you must have to prove yourself in all situations in life huh? even an internet forum? i mean can't you just for one second stop taking yourself so seriously and trying to let everyone know who you are and how smart you are lol

you got it backwards as far as i'm concerned.

walking around a busy airport acting and looking like a fucking douchebag loser and then coming home and going online and being smarter than everyone?

lol TA isn't going to get you very far in life. you can't put it on your resume

Both typical American responses. You go to live/work in a country, learn their fucking language. End of story.

Amen.
I despise people who come to Canada and say " I hate speaking this language blablabla, I can't and I won't earn it." Then piss off back to the dirty hole you came form.

Um, when did you say you were planning to move to Germany?

(My response is still true)

haha oops I didn't, but I do want to.

Posted by Frenchie on Jun-08-2009 21:54:

That's not an assumption. It's pretty much fact.

This is not assumption this is fact. You respect the people by learning their language. This is a deep rooted value that people that grew up in Europe (even though I did not) have and respect. Asians also have a similar sentiment.

It is a fact that if I move somewhere I will refuse to learn the language? LMAO that's so stupid go fuck yourself.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Jun-08-2009 21:58:

I think Zild's saying that even though it isn't crucial to learn the language to work in Germany, he will anyway. Right?

Posted by Frenchie on Jun-08-2009 21:58:

You're ignorant. That's OK, you're just a fool.

Ahh see I was waiting for someone who isn't an idiot to come in here.

Yes. If you're a fucking ME worth his salt and you land a job in Germany fluent or not you will become fluent very fucking shortly. Therefore I would concentrate on other facets that need to be addressed to get the fuck out ASAP.

Having a nice base is more important to me than just learning on the fly. There is only so much you can learn from this way that you make out to be fantastic. My sister learned Russian this way, and her grammar is flat out shit.

Posted by Brian Scott on Jun-08-2009 22:00:

I agree that you should learn the local language of the nation you eventually move to. It's a touchy subject for me as a Los Angeles native and resident.

I just didn't know Ben was planning to move to Germany. Most Germans in the engineering/technology industries do speak English, however. If he was planning to stay on this side of the pond, then my statement would have a lot more validity.

Posted by Frenchie on Jun-08-2009 22:01:

Agreed that if I stayed in the US I would skip the foreign language, but as I said, it is also to help get me back into the swing of things. 2 core classes and 1 fuck around class. I haven't been in school since early 2002. I need to ease into it rather than jump right into 4 core classes.
