Loved going through the pages and picking up on old almost forgotten tracks such as pvds / tijs earlier stuff on 45rpm / 7 ways and the magik series respectively..

I stopped clubbing back in the mid 00's when PVD was starting to lose his way, ive tried to get back into his stuff and unlike before, where every set he played was almost outstanding and original, his sets now are just reworked old fav's of his. He's no longer a pioneer nor do i believe that he plays the music that sounds good to him and moves him emotionally as he once stated - he's obviously there for the and is a massive shame..As for that Home song, what a massive wanker that wayne guy can DIE !

I dont think Trance all has to be about old classics...

Yeah I'm a proud owner of CD1 (PERF157CD1) but I wasn't really digging the Lemon D mix so I didn't get CD2, it didn't suit a drum & bass flavour, still the Chicane and H.H.C. remixes are also really awesome aswell but the original BT & PVD mix is still the best

I found this album in my car after doing some fall-cleaning and have been listening to it for a week now. Axis flip is a given, but also a lot of other real trance tracks here:

I actually enjoy this album more now than I did back when it was released.

It's kind of sad to think that the guy who made "White Lies" once made this.

In fact, this entire album is great.

You don't find anything this dark and entrancing anymore, you just don't.

haha. love it. i've seen pvd about 20x. i couldn't agree more! Jessica Sutton actually showed up to Vanguard LA last year. If I couldda gotten close enough, I woulda throw my drink at her.

there's trance, and then there's anti-trance. This is the latter

Reminds me of Sean Tyas's remix of D.N.A

yeah, that's another guy who doesn't make real trance. His own stuff is awful and his remixes are mostly classics with his kick. Go check platipus records and that'll show you what trance is/should be.

Posted by yourma2000 on Sep-18-2010 15:06:

yeah I've been through the platipus catalog, it's one of the few labels that have been holding the same or similar sounding trance of the 90s, shame it had to shut down (and become Porcupine Records) as it was a huge name in trance

Posted by Rodri Santos on Sep-18-2010 15:38:

Sean Tyas is real trance, of course you can't compare his work with the tracks of late 90's when this genre almost found perfection but in essence he is producing trance in 2010, more emphasis in kicks and rolling basslines and uplifting breakdowns but is close to Barthezz or the old Scot Project to name a few hard trancers.

Posted by yourma2000 on Sep-18-2010 15:43:

The only artist I've notice producing the 90s trance (although I haven't really looked) is John 00 Fleming, he still has that old style sound, if you listen to some of the new tracks he's produced with The Digital Blonde you'll notice some nostalgic elements, a few of his tracks has that demonic bassline and backing melody feel that alot of olden day trance has
