I'm pretty psyched on Faithless as well. I wonder if it's gonna be Maxi, Rollo and Sister Bliss all together, with guest vocals from Dido and Zoe Johnston

its the Faithless Soundsystem which is usually just Maxi and Sister Bliss...occassionally Rollo with do soundsystem gigs.
Doubt they'll have any guest vocalists. They're promoting a new remix of greatest hits album, so it'll probably be new mixes of old material...which i'm completely fine with. I saw them in Webster Hall a few years ago in NYC and it blew my mind...a religious experience to say the least..so I look forward to this outdoors vibe. They do a TON of outdoor festivals in europe..wish i could get over there.

Dido and Zoe Johnston?
They are not listed to attend.

Posted by ZEe NYC on Mar-04-2010 23:48:

yea, i was being sarcastic about the guest vocals lol

either way, pretty excited about them being on the bill after so long. Maxi was always one of my favorite dudes. his voice and lyrics are amazing

i agree. WTF

for an event that people are paying a $40 'service/convenience' charge; they're not too friendly on the promotional end, are they?

Not to rub it in, but I've seen them about 8 times I think. Kinda sick of them now, haha!

Ok, I'm completely rubbing it in.

But rest assured, every time they have been epic.

Not a fan of Maxxi. Just speaks in a low voice and people eat it up. They have great melodies though. If he would shut up I would like them more. Just my opinion.

Posted by PvDoBseSSioN on Mar-05-2010 10:32:

yeah i saw them once in ibiza, they played seperate dj sets which was cool, sister bliss was playing house and maxi jazz was playing old school hip hop @ Cafe Mambo.... good times

Posted by trancension on Mar-05-2010 14:18:

UMF has never been good on event organization...let's be honest. Their host/manager/whatever is always ruining the flow of the main stage. Was it in 2007 when he went "Danny Tttttteeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnaaaaaaaaaaagggggggglllllliiiiiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" every 5 minutes?

So it doesn't surprise me THEY would leak incorrect set times themselves and then get mad because those times spread.

Posted by ZEe NYC on Mar-05-2010 17:04:

no festival ever gets stage times in a line up where every fan is satisfied.

compare Electric Zoo for instance... Sat night Main Stage: Deadmau5 follwed by Armin closing. Look at Ultra Saturday... Armin, SHM then Deadmau5 closing.

i psyched either way. i could care less who goes on at what time. 90% of the artists i listen to will be there. My only concern (as usually is during a festival) i chosing who to see when they overlap each other.

I guess its phase 3 - final phase now. They added some new names and a new tent. Nothing major. Also heard Akon and Pitbul will be there for Guetta - weak. Then again wasnt planning on seeing him.

Phase 3 really didnt add much significance. But it never really does

link? i dont see it anywhere. not that i expected much from phase 3 but i might as well take a look.

its the full flyer on the homepage. if you look at it they added a few names and another tent

Posted by solrac67 on Mar-07-2010 10:03:

Quick look through the flyer and it looks like they added

FRIDAY) LMFAO, Francessco Rossi (moved from sat), Tania Vulcano, Josh Wink, Elio Riso, & NEW "Root Society Dome" w/Joachim Garraud, Bassnectar, Stripe, Steve Porter, Donald Glaude, Felix Cartal, Afrobeta, & Paparazzi.

(SATURDAY) Nervo, Jaguar Love, Kryoman & The Clones, Sander Kleinenberg ( WOO!!!! BOTH Sander's at the UMF Brazil stage! haha, Sander^2 :P), Hybrid DJ SET (UMF Radio Stage), & NEW "Root Society Dome" w/Jefr Tale, Kevens, Rabbit in the Moon DJ SET, Planet B, Hatiras, Jello, Zodiac Cartel, Oliver Molden, RioTGeaR, Kids at the Bar, & Robb G.

-I think they did make some pretty cool additions (Josh Wink, Steve Porter [was already on flyer but not a stage], Sander K, Hybrid) just making it hard to squeeze em all in in a day! What's with the side stages getting better lineups this year?? There's actually "KNOWN" djs in the small stages this year haha. Which is dope IMO, just hard to stray away from the even bigger DJs on the other stages :/.

Posted by MdTechno on Mar-07-2010 13:51:

Wow looking forward to this! Going to be hard to chose between people for sure, but I will make an effort to hear a wide variety.

Posted by Franknbeanz420 on Mar-07-2010 21:19:

ok got all my other tickets this is the last one to decide on in all honesty is ultra worth it?

Posted by element-y on Mar-07-2010 21:22:

the side tents are bad ass this year. overall this year has an awesome lineup all around covering all genres. just hope they put some money into decor and production.

Posted by AMMORA on Mar-07-2010 22:07:

its definately worth it on Saturday...pretty much everyone is playing that day thats worth seeing. The benefit of Ultra, and something to consider when you're looking at your tickets for other parties, is you can catch all the DJs you can't make individual parties for. Thats my main reason for doing it this year...
If there are more than 5-6 DJs at Ultra you REALLY wanted to see, but won't see at other parties, its worth it IMO.

Posted by AMMORA on Mar-07-2010 22:09:

oh and plus its a COMPLETELY different vibe for an afternoon/evening...its a true outdoor festival..dirt, grass, mud if it rains, porta potties, the whole nine yards...so if you're into festivals in general, its worth it to get outta the clubs/pools/SoBe and do something different rounds out the WMC experience nicely.
and i love to see the kids who are still holding onto the Kandy and neon/black goth thing tromping around Ultra, its funny that stuff is still relevant in club culture.

I agree. Its worth it for the festival vibe. However they dont spend much on the festival vibe so its sad. I mean simple white booths, simple covers for stage trusses, simple lighting, no decor, etc. I mean when you compare it to dancevalley or mysteryland or other festivals its a shame. Ultra is setup like a basic rock festival with edm acts.

even the entrance to the festivals are decorated.

Posted by AMMORA on Mar-07-2010 23:39:

impressive stages...does it ever rain where those events take place? or is it so unlikely to rain they don't worry about it?

3 years ago when i had a VIP ultra ticket, it was POURING rain, like hurricane pouring, wind, etc. and I remember talking to someone who worked at Ultra--telling me how they're glad they don't spend a lot of money on decorations, elaborate set-ups with the exception of 2 stages that are mostly covered b/c the rain factor is always a gamble for them
MOST years its perfect weather...but the one year they plan on something bigger and spend the money will be the year it absolutely pours and destroys everything.
