Tampa is probably gone in the first round. Great offense aside, they are weak on d and in net. Things get way tighter in the post season, so Stamkos and St Louis will not have the room they have now. Tampa is not the type of team i would consider good for close games. They also have the benefit of being in one of the shittiest divisions in hockey.
They have 4 goals more scored against them than for them. That ain't gonna work well for them. It doesn't matter if you score 5 when the other team scores 6. It is the ultimate first round match up for us i think, and we take that series in 5. We don't have stars like Tampa, but we have a much more rounded team that fares well in one goal games and can play team defense. Tampa is a one trick pony.
Either way, it feels weird not wondering if we will make the playoffs or not at this point of the season.
I would even rather play Tampa over the Rangers or the Sabres.
i don't really believe in philly. their goaltending won't stand up in the playoffs.
Detroit never needed good goaltending to win a cup when they had a stacked team, and I think this Flyers team is just as good as the Osgood era wings.
They can roll 4 lines all of the time and come in waves. Their bottom pairing d men would be first pairing on many teams. Goaltending is their crutch, but the rest of the team is so deep. Not even Vancouver can match them line for line, which means mismatches, and having the last line change becomes less important. (and it could be argued that this is the biggest advantage with having home ice)

What is going to happen is this.
The select few loonies at the Bell Center (there are way more than a select few, trust me i go to enough games to see it.) will act out inappropriately the next time the Bruins come to town. All the security in the world will not prevent things being hurled at Chara.
When it happens, the league will hopefully see that it could have been avoided with a slight tap on chara's wrist.
It isn't a question of "if" but a question of "when".
We might not brawl in the stands like Bruins fans, but the nutcases are there and they will not be satisfied with booing. Just watch.
