one day i might try to see if i can go a week without my normal amount of sugar but i doubt that day will be soon. i realize i don't need it to survive i like it and that's all that matters to me. i like having cake on my birthday or candy corn around halloween, that's just how i roll.
I tried going without carbs entirely and didn't like it.
I have seem to have more energy when I eat a pretty low amount of them, though, rather than snacking on a bunch of chips / pretzels.
Ah yes, working out......
I forgot all about that for a while. Arse!
let the games begin - i have entered into 2 more biathlons for next year. Swimming starts in 2 weeks in a 13m pool - looking to run a good 8-12 laps per session.
I haven't ran in a while so I'm hoping tonight when I get back on the treadmill I'll be semi-able to make it past the mile marker.

you people and the self deprivation are out of your minds...i will cut back on the candy though. i ate too much candy corn today and feel ill.
eww first of all candy corn is freaking disgusting
i'm done with candy corn for at least another year...it really is all artificial colors and straight up sugar/honey. either way i can't eat anymore.
I've started hitting the gym up again. I'm sore but it's getting better and I'm almost back to my usual weights.
Also started to run a bit along the beach with a mate but we need to run at 6am because he goes to work after and I've got uni, plus it's exam time for me so we haven't done as much running as we should have.
I really need the cardio too as I weigh 100kg when I should be around 95kg so all the gym work that I do is covered by those annoying extra few kilos of fat. Especially the abs

Planet Fitness is $10 a month, maybe $15 at the most for a membership. I'm sure u can find a gym that's comparable to this. Money should be no excuse. Break up that extremely long workout to 4 days instead. |

| Originally posted by noikeee I live in a (technically) rural area, there's only 2 gyms near enough to be considered. This one I go to is right next to my home (less than 1 minute on foot...) so I don't want to change. Well, I'm hardly an expert but I don't think I'm overtraining... I take a long time at the gym but spend a lot of time relaxing between exercises, and I don't spend 2 hours going at the same muscle groups. I go with this guy who is doing some recuperation work after a knee injury, so while he does his thing I do stretching and arm rotating, then 20 mins of bike, and then sometimes 3 or 4 machines to work legs... when I can be bothered. Yesterday I did 12 mins of running and 2 leg exercises instead. Then after that we do either a bicep, tricep or chest+back workout, and this one is the harsher part. This consists of several double exercises, done 3 times. Example: doing 8 reps of lifting a bar with weights, then straight-away to "chest openings" with a weight on each hand. Relax for 2 or 3 minutes, repeat again, relax for 2 or 3 minutes, repeat again. We do 3 different kinds of these double exercises for each bicep/tricep/chest days. We alternate these days, I basically end up working out these sets of muscles only once per 2 weeks, as sometimes I'll skip a day and do only a gym day per week... this can't possibly be overkill. The only possibly overkill part is doing upper muscles on top of legs - is this that bad? And at the end, we do abs. Then stretching again. |
so today i felt like what a 70 year old woman must feel every morning. last week i sucked at exercising because of stress plus being kinda sick for the past two weeks. either way healthy now and didn't ease into my normal routine so went hard these last two days and this morning my entire body hurt. i shuffled not walked around my apartment and to the train like a senior citizen!

I've been running the usual 5 miles daily this week. I'm also trying to run errands by foot instead of driving, and it makes me feel good by the end of the day. I will probably hit the gym today after running, we'll see...
five miles a day? shit, i'm lucky if i get in 5 a week
i've been so lazy since i've been down here in biloxi. all i do is play racquetball, run 2-3 miles a week, and pullups and thats it.
yeah, i don't know where all this energy comes from. i'm in need of competition.
i truly wish i enjoyed running...good for you! exercising gives me all the energy i have because without it i would crash
ran 3.5 miles today...with about 1.25 of it uphill.
Monday i did a fake PT test.
1 min pushups - 65
1 min situps - 51
1.5 miles run - 12:12
not too shabby, considering all i did over the weekend was drink and be lazy.
i'm skipping the gym and hitting up a wine bar....so worth it
Haven't been to the gym in months...broken toe and shit. But I quit smoking as of yesterday so that I can get back into running and the gym. Yay!
I'm gonna get back into exercise tomorrow
....maybe.
