I think I'm going to go back to the gym this monday and start doing weights 3 times a week again. They opened a new Virgin gym up the road for me and it's getting rave reviews so will probably go there. I need to start exercising again. I think I've had enough time off.

Good luck with that

If I'd had some time off from the gym and eventually go back, the motivation and commitment is there in abundance, but the body just won't do as much as you want it to do. Take it easy and slowly build up the amount and intensity of your exercise.

Edit - Just noticed you've gone before, you probably know what I've written above already

Posted by Fledz on Jan-17-2009 01:08:

Oh hell yea. The first couple of weeks suck because I'll do less than 50% of what I normally do and still be in pain for days

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jan-17-2009 01:11:

I love that burn.

Posted by DJ_Eternal on Jan-17-2009 01:16:

Yeah, it's a killer, but I guess an upside of it all is that you've pushed your body as far as it could physically go.

Jenny, you love carpet burns.

I used to get 'em all the time when I was a kid. :/

edit: from falling down and shit.

I love running in the winter, especially on those crisp cold clear days. However, for tomorrow there's a lot of wind and some rain forecast, won't keep me from my scheduled 22km though.

22km? Fuckin' hell you are a trooper

I used to do 10 mile runs every Sunday back in August-September time. For a while, I thought I was going to die through exhaustion but it gets easier as time goes on, and educating myself on pacing was also a big help.

Cool, clear days and taking a lungful of that crisp air really can't be topped but it's a pity we just don't enough of that here

Bahaha, yeah I gained 10 pounds. Felt fucking disgusting. I'd like to lose another 5 to 10...but what a difference 5 pounds makes. God.

But you said a while ago that these extra 5 pounds just added more goodness to the good stuff

Anyway, I decided to work out again, and I feel so narcissistic! There are mirrors everywhere, and I'm like "Why Hello There, Me! Hi, again! Yes, you're sexy, now naff off! JESUS CHRIST, WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE!?"

Yes, I said it made my tits look awesome. But carrying extra weight around my midsection, not so much. I'm lucky because when I gain weight it distributes itself evenly all over my body, but any more weight than what I gained and I wouldn't be able to hide it any more/as easily. Seriously, when you bend over in the shower to shave your legs and you can feel fat touching fat...there's a problem, lol. Not to mention how sluggish and uncomfortable I felt.

strange that this was bumped at this time...

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jan-17-2009 17:41:

Huh? Why?

edit: nm, I just saw your thread.

Bigger tits = +∞ points
Slightly bigger belly = -5 points

I think you're still doing well, Jenny

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jan-17-2009 17:48:

Haha, honestly...most people look at me in disgust when I say shit like "Gotta get rid of this fat/weight", or "Omg I'm such a cow!" But it's more how I feel than how I look.

Posted by Slylee on Jan-17-2009 17:52:

well my bf finally got motivated to start working out with me. it's kinda hard for me to get into my routine when i live with someone who totally isn't into it, so i've been lazy and smoking pot and cooking big meals but i haven't really gained any weight. i'm still like 108 last time i weighed myself. but yea we went and joined LA fitness and i'm really excited about the indoor raquetball courts. we're gonna play a couple times a week and then the other couple days we'll do weights. also getting into more healthy cooking so i should see some results by summer for sure

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jan-17-2009 17:56:

Racquetball is awesome. If the club here that has courts wasn't so expensive, I'd go there instead of my school's gym..which is only 25 bucks a semester. Wewt!

Posted by Slylee on Jan-17-2009 18:02:

yea it's hard to find indoor raquetball courts down here at gyms. this gym is like the only one. i really prefer getting involved in some sort of sport or class when it comes to working out because it kinda forces you to. i was getting ready to sign up for some sort of sports-like activity because i was getting discouraged that my man wouldn't work out with me. i was gonna do tennis lessons or salsa dancing or something lol i think having a partner to play raquetball with can totally make it fun. we'll be getting great exercise and not really thinking about it.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jan-17-2009 18:04:

Yeah I agree...I prefer that kind of activity as well. Plus you're working your whole body out at the same time. I'd say my best workout ever was working as a landscaper. I got so toned without even realizing it.

Posted by noikeee on Jan-17-2009 18:13:

After gaining some weight during the holidays, I now want to lose some 5kg of fat before the late Spring/Summer. I'm now unemployed so in theory have all the time in the world to dedicate myself to it, but the problem is that I'm spending most of the time sitting my arse on the sofa. 2 long cardio sessions per week at the gym before the weights don't seem enough.

Need to get out and start running. Been a bit lazy to do so because it's the winter and the dudes I was going to start running with have stopped doing it.

yea that's the reason why he's not crazy about hitting the gym every night. he is a contractor and he looks totally decent even though he doesn't eat very healthy or work out. he gets plenty of exercise while working without realizing it. but he's all into getting more in shape this year with me so i'm happy.

i never have weight problems though i just always want to have a more toned look rather than the skinny look...which to me is almost harder than losing weight i would imagine.

Posted by Lira on Jan-17-2009 18:25:

You know, I just decided to hit the gym because my back hurts when I get lazy. And because I want to streak around the university someday, so I'd better be in shape for that

Uhh... my back hurts today because I went to the gym (must have done some exercise wrong or something). You might want to reconsider that.
