the aussies are a phenominal force, but they are not used to be in situations like this........they dont like it, so they are nervous. and cant handle it
i just hope that dam uk weather dosnt play apart

i have to say im really impressd with simon jones this series, he has really shown his full potential, and has show his ability to swing the ball (at ease) he is also handy with the bat so id like to see him a few places higher in the batting order

I'm only worried about the fitness of Jones & Hoggard. Harmison can take some stick, and the aussies know that, and if hoggy & jonesey aren't fit, then that leaves even more pressure on freddie. We'll see, but I hope we can wrap the tail up asap.

We've recovered a bit, at least it looks like England will have to bat again. Fingers crossed we can give you guys 150 to 200 to chase. At least that would be a contest.

I nearly did last night, then i thought 'nah it can wait' cos I was about to goto bed. It's funny tho, and Brett being who he is took it well, Dizzy would've probably given him an adelaide welcome

WTF was up with Ponting getting mad at England for him being run out by a substitute fielder? Personally, I would have thought quick risky singles probably weren't really called for 200 down and following on.

cos the sub wasn't on the players list, and had been on the ground for a very long time. I think theres some sort of limit (or at least just like a gentlemans agreement) as to how long a players thats not part of the team can stay on.

Posted by eROs.au on Aug-28-2005 09:30:

the guy who run him out is sopose to be a specilist at fielding and was on the ground for to long.

well thats what i heard...

Posted by Ghostface on Aug-28-2005 10:49:

ah ok. Thought it was a bit strange he got so mad about it.

Posted by Philby on Aug-28-2005 11:22:

he got pissed off because england are using the new rules where the home side can use 37 players but the away team gets stuck with the traditional 12. anyway england is officially batting again, but now clarke is gone...

Posted by Trance Nutter on Aug-28-2005 12:23:

If England need circa 50, Australia must give Tait the ball to open with Lee at the other end. Don't give Kasper the new ball to open, let the future of the AUssie attack get used to the reality in 2 years time.

tbh, our tv could only prove the inside edge after 20 odd minutes of working in the studio with different tools to enhance sound and picture, the umpire only gets one chance. My dad is an umpire at a pretty high level (2 grades below test match, 1 below first class) and has done some england women games before & does a lot of games for ages 10-19 and he said that on both, he could see that he may have given at least one of the two out in real time. We just have to trust these guys to make decisions what even themselves out over a period of time.

you must be talking about the ponting one right....both of martyns could've been spotted from the moon

Posted by Tweak on Aug-28-2005 12:49:

oh well, wait till they come over here, play on some non tailored pitches, and with some non geriatric aussie players.

as an aside, do you guys have a lot of pollution over there? seems every time they have a close up of an english player, he's digging for nasal gold. usually at least one in each crowd shot too!

Posted by Tweak on Aug-28-2005 12:51:

lol @ tony greig, complaining about australias run rate in this innings...

Posted by Tweak on Aug-28-2005 12:52:

there's flintoff, picking a winner

Posted by Tweak on Aug-28-2005 13:05:

katich given out lbw, pitched outside leg, hit above the kneeroll, bowled by harmison....how much are you guys paying the umps?

shame on harmison, but i have thought a couple of times throughout the series we might have been playing against sri lanka, appealing all over the place

Posted by Tweak on Aug-28-2005 13:08:

lee dropped by jones, he'll be happy though, he got a glove to it!

exactly
at least we can still count on collander gloves jones to help us out

Posted by Tweak on Aug-28-2005 13:11:

promote warne to opener, and bring in gillespie as first drop (don't bowl him though)

Posted by Philby on Aug-28-2005 13:15:

whatever the poms are paying the umps, we must be paying jones double

Posted by Tweak on Aug-28-2005 13:27:

i think brett lee needs a rest, they should sub him for hodge

Posted by Philby on Aug-28-2005 13:32:

oh i'm not syaing these poor decisions would have changed the result or making excuses, but come on, this is the top level...

Posted by Philby on Aug-28-2005 14:03:

shit, i was about to say cheers kevin but jones managed to take one and bring my excitement to an abrupt halt. ooh ah glen mcgrath....

Posted by Philby on Aug-28-2005 14:23:

wtf tait??? n00b

[tony grieg]
