I feel like history is repeating itself... all of a sudden teams that havent won since the early 1900's are winning in the early 2000's (so far)... its a hell of a coincidence.

Their starters will be the biggest difference in my opinion, either good or bad. They look awfully sharp so far. I also think the ChiSox have caught lightning in a bottle this year and will be difficult to repeat their performance next year. Yet I definitely pulling for them to win the series. |

The Red Sox have been perenially good for must of the history of the Majors. The Cubs usually field a very competitive team. The White Sox do seem to have just lucked out a lot this year. |
First off... it's Leo Mazzone, not Lee Mazilli. Lee Mazilli is the former Met player/Yankee coach/Orioles manager. He'll probably be your bench coach again.
Leo Mazzone, on the other hand, is the great pitching coach of these great Braves teams. And, unfortunately for you and fortunately for me, he will be the Orioles pitching coach next year.
Never thought I'd ever care about a pitching coach leaving a team. Now... if only someone can pry Schuerholz away from the Braves next...

Steinbrenner has nothing to do with it. Mazonne's going to Baltimore as reported by The Sporting News earlier this evening.
And Joe Girardi is going to be the manager of the Marlins.
Lameeeeeeeeeee...
Yank's need a fucking pitching coach, talk about beating a dead horse... the bullpen wasnt all that immaculate in the first place. They need to let these old people go and retire, and go scout some young stud's.
Jenks has an absolute cannon of an arm.
Bobby Jenks, meet Tommy John. TJ, Bobby Jenks. Let's be friends!
wow, walkoff homer by Podsednik in Game 2... everything's going right for the White Sox
Astros have to beat not only the ChiSox but the baseball gods
I thought it was pretty much over after Konerko's grand slam. Too bad I had to leave before the end of the game, and before the Astros came back, to set the stage for Scottie.
It's interesting waking up in the morning to see the games, broadcasted on ESPN over in Asia. They also replay the broadcasts once or twice later on in the day.
konerko's grand slam pretty much said to houston, i don't care who you are bringing in, i'm swinging at the first pitch and im gonna swing hard.
that was a SHOT by konerko...seriously a belt!
i admit, i was up watching till the walk off - now thats some good baseball
oh and lets not forget the clutch hit by Jose Vizcaino, great contact hitter, definitely not my first choice off the bench, however he was the right guy to deliver in that situation...
god i love this game
What a great postseason game last night, all the elements of a classic
If you thought it couldn't get better than Game 2... Astros with another marathon game, breaking yet another Mets record - this one for longest World Series game by time, which was previously set in 2000 WS Game 1
They also tied the 1916 record for most innings, but ChiSox won a stunner to take a 3-0 lead
The only positive thing about a sweep would be that at least its over and we can move on to the Off Season. I heard that this is the lowest rated World Series since 2000.

too bad there arent' more ppl watching, because the games have been great. i wonder how the ratings in Chicago are.
a win tonight and the ChiSox match the BoSox record of 8 straight postseason wins last year.
If they go on to win, it would be tough to pick the WS MVP
Post-season MVPs are so dumb and worthless. How Foulke didn't get it for the ALCS and WS is beyond me...

Another sweep for the AL team
Congrats to the White Sox for winning their first title since 1917, breaking the curse of the Black Sox
Shoeless Joe Jackson can now rest in peace
It was truly amazing run where all the stars were aligned. They'll be good next year, but I don't think they'll repeat this kind of magic. I think it was a once-in-a-generation kind of run for them.
Cubs vs. Indians in the World Series next year!
Hopefully vlad's hibernates into the winter and doesnt poat in another baseball thread till next October
