my review is a little late but anywho.
awsome night. stayed in koolhaus all night. porter was good. got me going. junky got me fucking pounding like a mad man. than picotto just made me go downhill. what an awful set. almost put me to sleep. but blank and jones got me pumping hard again.
it was nice meeting everyone. i forgot alot of names i appologize. but i remember the faces.
grat partying with everyone. gotta do this again.
Got in at 10:25 (thanks to Mr. Tang for the Guestlist hookup... [sorry for calling about that so late]) Stayed in the Guv for a few drinks... needed to warm my feet up before I fucked the floor in the Kool Haus. Walked over to Kool Haus... Sat down for a little bit... My friend Matt (Captain E-Tard) and his GF Elenor were fighting which tottally bummed me and Callie out... Met up with Ben... (for some reason Ben is normally the first TA i see whenever I go out...) Moved over to the bathroom side of Kool Haus (which IMO is the side that always has a much better vibe) Danced for a bit (which it was hard not to dance cause Junkie was on and completely destroying the place)... Matt at this point had obtained some E and become completely Fucktarded by it... (hence the name Captain E-tard... although im not positive how much he had consumed at first i know it was at least 3 pills IN HIS FIRST SITTING)... danced some more (Junkie still tearing the walls down)... Started to babysit Matt (he forgot where he was and what he was doing)... Bought Jason a drink because Matt had stolen his and drank 3/4 of the freaking thing... (sorry again dude)... More dancing... Matt still fucked... more dancing... matt forgets he has a GF and starts hitting on some girl beside the stage... Elenor sees matt and dumps watter bottle in his face (Go Elenor)... At this point Callie and I had enough of the damn drama between Matt and Elenor... it was a total party ruiner... so we went and disappeared for a little while in the back little enclave in the KH... time passed and we decided it was a damn good time to start being that damn couple which dont stop dancing... And so we danced... as the roof fell down and the walls came out... we danced and Junkie is still to blame for it all...
Junkie XL's rating for the evening: 10/10
And on came Mauro Suckasso... err... i mean Picotto... not bad to start... came on strong... still had an awesome vibe in the place from Junkie... and the music enslaved me... time passed... Mauro slowly began to make me lose interest... and the dancing slowed down... more time passed... and the dancing slowed down to a double-sidestep turn... (which is normally how i dance if im completely not interested... One step to the left... one step to the right... slide together and turn...) more time passes... the night had seemed to fly by up until this point... Mauro by this point had had a new roof built and the walls replaced and reinforced to make sure they would not be torn down again during his set... now i was checking the time on my cellphone every 7-8 minutes counting down till 4:30 which was the time i thought Blank & jones were gonna be on at... and still more time passes... the double sidestep turn... has now transformed into a two step (no sidestepping... place left foot on the ground... place right foot on the ground and remove left... place left foor back on ground and remove right...) but to keep myself going I added a head bop... and the occasional floor fuck when a good bassline hit... More time passes and Blank & jones are finally setting up...
Mauro Piccotto's rating for the evening 2.1/10
Blank & Jones hit the stage and instantly that two step and been changed into a full on floor fuck... and as much as it may at times looked very disgusting and un-coordinated... I was happy knowing that every bit of energy I had left in me was being given to B&J... the the reinforfced walls that were built by piccotto were not strong enough to contain the vibe put out by B&J and the were blown out on to the adjacent streets and alleyways... and the roof caved in... as B&J murdered me

This was my first full night out in almost a year... I'd had 4 nights that didnt last much past 2 since March 05... Deep Dish a couple of weeks ago would've been a full night if my damn work hadn't have pulled me outta there at 3ish. Had an awesome time being out there finally back on the dancefloor... with a bottle of water and my good ol dancing shoes... ripping it up to some awesome music... and the best damn company possible... TOTA you never cease to amaze me...
It was great to finally meet Fahad... (it's about freakin time)

I had an amazing nite....a few flaws in the middle but meh shit happens and life goes on lol....the ppl I was with b4 and the ppl i partied with at the club, TOTAS and including a shitload of non TA's i see on a regular at clubs and all we do is DANCE ! U ALL made my nite special in one way or another
I was very impressd with Steve Porter, most definitely got me moving as soon as i walked in and then again at the Gallery too bad it was way too packed in there.
I really liked JXL's energy, don't get me wrong, but with that his set was inconsistent imo i would start dancing and then it would slow down, like wtf man!!! Steve and i would look at eachother and be like fuck time for a f'in nap.
Picotto came on and the sound was really loud..did anyone else notice that? i thought the speakers were gonna explode, so i stuck around for a bit ...good solid stuff in the beg but meh then i just had to leave i was a bit bored and i didn't go out for that so into the Guv....
We walked in and out of the guv way toooooooo packed and im there regularly BUT NOW that i see the Second Sun live vid I WANNA KICK MYSELF IN THE ASS FOR MISSING THIS SET....it looked like there was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much more energy there!!! ah well now i have to wait but im really glad for those of you who saw Second Sun ex. Laura, Tyler, Mags etc!!

Yes Guvernment has paramedics, and a paramedic station, which is something I did not know, but we are all very grateful for. He recovered, and was held for observation, and then released. Needless to say, no one in our group had a good time, and I doubt any of us will ever forget what happend. We are all still trying to process what happend, his friend that he came up with from the states is a dj, and was talking of never DJing again, he wants nothing to do with the scene anymore. I know several of us will never drop again. For those of us that knew him, this was not a story we heard about, not a statistic, it was very very real, and very very scarey, we all knew it could have been anyone of us. I do not expect anyone that was not part of our crew that night to fully comprehend what it was that we experienced, but if you have read this message, please think about it, and think about if that had been you, or one of your friends. |
