Smitty, too much is never enough. lol, srsly, those kinds of questions ridicule this thread, and you prolly shouldn't have posted it here. In all honesty, no one can tell you how much is too much. Only you can tell yourself that. If you start feeling residual effects (those can be a wide range of emotions and feelings for various people) or if you find yourself craving it, those are prolly two obvious signs that you're doing it too much.

Yes - it's called sleep depravation. Been there many times....I'm sillier sober and sleepless than any other time.

"Why is there so much traffic? Is it the train?"

Oh god, coming home from Decadence last Friday morning in Branden's car...

I forget what somebody said but my reply was something like "Well what colour is their hair, red or pink and are there spirals in it"

They told me they were talking about washing the car...

While I admire your intentions for this thread Nat, with all due respect, no one owes you an explanation, and you don't have the right to demand one. You absolutely have the right to express concern if you feel concerned, but demanding explanations and pointing fingers just makes people defensive and often just leads to people getting themselves in even further. You can't force people to change their behaviour - they have to do it on their own.

If you've had offline discussions with these people you are concerned about, I don't see any incremental benefit to airing the issue online when it is clearly embarassing certain individuals.

I think it is good she posted this...explains all the stupid posts and threads

Posted by supernova_girl on Apr-20-2006 16:17:

tatgirl, you are not alone.

I don't drink, don't do drugs, in fact, I'm probably the "cleanest" person next to a baby.

When I do drink, it's one glass only -- and never more. I never mix alcohols, I only drink Red Bull when I have a long day or had an exam early in the morning (although I have a nice collection of 10 cans in my basement).

Maybe I'm just disillusioned about everything. Maybe I haven't managed to stay the whole night until 8am, but my reasons had nothing to do with me not being awake enough or a lack of energy.

The thing that I don't understand is this: It should be about the music, and only the music; that's why we're all here at tranceaddict.com, isn't it? Because we enjoy the music, not the recreational drugs, the alcohol, or anything else. We're supposed to like the music and that is suppose to be the drug.

I have been through that period in life where I pushed myself to some ridiculous limits while experimenting with drugs, but some people just cannot seem to let it go and move on.

I am not going to comment on anyone here in particular (because I do not know most of you), but it all boils down to having a low self esteem, boring life, and just being lazy and taking the easy way out. Grow up... (and yes, I seem to be cutting off all my friends who are still stuck in that "zone"... can't deal with it anymore, plus nothing good comes out of them anyway).

my case.. but im happy my closes friends have now stopped.. not at all but they hardly go our just to avoid it..

It's great to get your priorities in perspective before expanding your mind through drugs.

Oh, and the coke thing. Bars in Peterborough have taken to applying petroleum jelly to the backs of toilets (if they have tanks) or on the toilet-paper dispenser.

Posted by samhouse on Apr-20-2006 16:22:

wow...all this has happened in one day???????
remarkable...

I am an incredibly curious person by nature and can safely say that I have satisfied just about everyone of those curiosities when it comes to drugs. I have never gone into certain other drugs thanks mostly to movies like Requiem for a Dream and Trainspotting and never will. OF those that I have done, I now know what they are like and don't have any want or need to feel that "high" again.

I don't need to type this out here...but feel I want to because I don't have anything to hide.

stay safe TA's...

What is pushing the limit? I mean...for example, my ex gf almost flipped when I told her casually that I had "experimented" a bit into drugs but from my perspective, I've hardly been exceeding saftey levels. But I also have a friend (not close but we're buddies) who purchases an 8 ball every week or two. To me, that seems a bit much and not just the money factor. My point is that every time you see some people who might be going overboard, there's always people who are way worse off.

I think you bring up some good points and questions.

Are some drugs more 'acceptable' while others are not? Certainly. Do I personally think some drugs are 'less risky' than others? For sure. Of course every drug has potential for abuse, even the more 'acceptable' drugs. But I see people who turn every weekend into one reeeallly lonnng dayyyy week after week after week, going sleep deprived for days on end, watching people prioritize spending money & time on weekend benders over more important necessities or fun outings, doing heavy drugs at home just for the sake of doing drugs cuz they're there or out of boredom, or going out of their way to take days off work just so you can use that night as an excuse to stay home and get wasted and invading everyday life, and seeing people you care about do drugs you thought they'd never touch a few months ago.....its scary.

Obviously, we can't make anyone stop. Each person has to stop or take control at their own pace. But sometimes all it takes is a little word with them to turn that lightbulb on...

1) drug use does not create problems with daily life
2) drug use does not create problems with family/friends/loved ones
3) user can afford the substances consumed without appreciable impact on higher priorities
4) user understands the drug and dangers associated with it's use and takes all reasonable steps to insulate themselves from said dangers
5) the intention of the user is to enhance experiences rather then distract from dealing with other problems
6) user is in control of their consumption rather then the other way around

people dont want to be around you because you're eating your face off and acting reaaaaaaaally creepy..ugh shudder!
