I think FIFA must consider talk bout the incident with Zidane and asshole Materazzi, hearing explanations from the both two, and sanctioning both players, revisiting their trayectory, specially this video from the imbecile italian:

But how are you supposed to police every single thing players say in the entire game?

And this is assuming he said a racial slur, which wouldn't surprise me tbh coming from that scumbag. But we don't even know wtf he said and are already blaming FIFA for not taking action, when the only thing we're sure of is Zidane headbutted him, and it was punished with the correct red card.

yes but no human being reacts like he did "just because" there was obviously a provocation and i think everyone in the world would like to know what it was.

Brazilian authorities handle this quite well: I remember a player was arrested charged by the police because of some racial slurs he said (in a really offensive tone) during a game.

That's why I said "if". If Zidane's cousin is saying the truth, then it's quite obvious that most people in his shoes would flip out.

and while we can kinda comprehend it, it's still not the right thing to do, you shouldn't respond to verbal insults with physical aggression, especially in a world cup final when you're the key player to the team and a rolemodel to the entire world.

also, regardless of time and place, any professional footballer should know better than dealing that way with insults - how many times do you think they hear stuff like this in the pitch?

copied from the gu board, apparantly this is what was said. i heard some french journalist talking about it on the radio today who also came out saying that was was said was very serious, and that Materrazzi would never be welcome on a french football pitch again...add to that Trezeguet's comments that Zidane could leave with his head held high...and Materrazzi's refusal to talk about it, id say this isnt far off the truth

Either way, if that's what really happened, emphasis on if, it's too bad he didn't crack Materazzi's skull instead of his chest. And please, spare me the blablabla about not reacting like this on a football pitch in a World Cup final. If this turns out to be true, Zidane will go from anti-hero to underground-hero. Maybe Blatter will actually do something about this and suspend Materazzi IF this turns out to be true. We'll see.

according to the french journalist, another of the players heard what was said.

obviously we might never find out the truth, but it would have to take something like that to elicit the response that zidane showed. he is apparantly very protective of his Algerian heritage, so its likely it isnt far off the truth.
