Despite not living in the US, it's extremely sad such an incident has happened. Makes you think why the world has come to stuff like this.

RIP to the victims and condolances towards their families.

Man these guys really have no shame. As if protesting at dead soldier's funerals weren't enough, now they're going after dead College students. I'm just waiting for the day they go too far and pushes some distraught family member over the edge.

I can see it happening really soon.

Exactly. Just outlaw them already.

you guys srsly need better gun laws.

And I still highly doubt whether that would help matters. In fact, I highly doubt this guy went through legal means to obtain the guns he used to kill the students, which would make these "harsher laws" you want enacted almost entirely moot.

I think banning handguns completely would be a start.

Banning guns would just cause more shootings in retaliation.

Posted by idoru on Apr-17-2007 14:58:

Why the hell does the media feel the need to put emphasis on the ethnicity of the shooter?

Yes, that was a rhetorical question. I just wanted to vent.

hell yea, then we can add guns into our successful war on drugs. nobody can get illegal drugs anymore, and once handguns are made illegal, no one will have those either.

CNN is naming the shooter

Gunman responsible for shooting identified as Cho Seung-Hui, 23, an English major from South Korea.

like what? stating his name? or saying that he is the foreign student from south korea? or posting his picture?

what is much worse is possible (and, i admit, justified) further restrictions for foreign student visas because of this fishyfuck.

Posted by denys envy on Apr-17-2007 15:48:

lol... his last name is "hui"... ahahahhahahahaha.

Posted by Slylee on Apr-17-2007 15:51:

for crying out loud this has nothing to do with gun control in america. it has to do w/ the f'n twats in america...

and the f'n twats from south korea on student visas

I highly doubt that, but I can safely assume that it wouldn't prevent more shootings. Not that anyone in this thread has said they wanted guns fully banned (at least not to my recollection).

Posted by igottaknow on Apr-17-2007 15:53:

these things always turn into gun control debates. booooring

Where is the funny?

Posted by SuspicionVandit on Apr-17-2007 15:58:

several things i was wondering:
They said the serial # was filed off the gun. Are serial #s an international policy for all weapons?
If not (if its only an american policy), is it possible for a student visa to be enough ID to purchase a gun in the lax gun control states?

and now funny names
