mere i totally feel u on this...it is the principle that matters. and yes that $10 show was one the BEST evar...most djs don't agree with the pricing of these events, but costs are what they are...and a profit does need to be made...

things have just gotten way too expensive these days -- no one agrees with it

The real question is, "Is MADE a douchebag for charging $40 for an event or are u the unfortunate one who is willing to pay the $40 to go see AVB ?" From a business perspective, if I were Made, id do the same. It seems there is so many ppl who think $40 is a bargain it dont matter what they charge at the door. Hell, id make it $50 at door and no pre-sale for $30. But just because they charge that price doesnt mean I have to go or any of u have to go. YOU CHOOSE TO GO DESPITE THE PRICES BEING WHAT THEY ARE. This doesnt just apply to AVB but any DJ really. At some point, u gotta realize these ppl are just DJs who come around more than once a yr and it aint a big deal missing them, especially if it aint in ure budget, or even if it is, its not something worth paying for even if u had the money to go. Personally, none of these Djs are worth more than $30. In Europe or elsewhere in the world, they play for $5-20 yet since its "AMERICA" ppl decide that even $50 is cheap for an event like this. Last I checked, it was the same music, same type of club, except they have a better vibe and attitude at the party. The reality is when ppl pay covers like this, its not cause the DJ costs that much or are even worth that much, its how much ppl perceive these DJs to be actually worth and their desire to want to be a part of it all.

+100000000000000

Totally agree with you on this one and it translates to all genre's of music. Since we the people are willing to pay the price they will charge it and each year it will go up just a little more, not to much, just enough for you to be okay with it until it gets totally out of control. Soon it will $100 for a 3 hour set in the bathroom of the McDonald's in Times Square

well considering how chichi they are trying to make that McD's be in Times Sq, i would have to say ur not too far off the mark by saying that. rofl

Posted by TRNG on May-10-2007 04:31:

rediculous pricing for a short event is exactly why im not going, last year we all paid about 35 for like 6 hours... so wtf is this noise paying more for half the time??? hopefully other people dont go either, its not that 40 dollars is alot of money, it isn't, its just that we are getting ripped off more and more everyday for every little shit... i thought this was 'the land of the free'...

Oh and since you know so much about me, being my financial advisor and all, I am NOT going to this event I made the choice based on no matter how much I paid $30 or or $300 it wasn't worth it for me.

And I NEVER said I couldn't afford the "extra" $10 I said I DIDN'T want to pay it....so get your shit straight!!!

Well he is qualified to be your FA, so you might want to listen.

Posted by TRNG on May-10-2007 04:47:

hahah yeah i definately won't
not with all this blake jarell cheese armin will play
probably some more breaking benjapuke reworks and some more deathfag for cutey... trance is becoming a joke.

Posted by teky on May-10-2007 04:54:

sadly but true it hasnt been the same since awhile back but there is always faith , recently its all the unknowns who make good music now a days~ and wow not having hard scene in us , terrible. u got ur ****** house music if ur lucky with some decent tracks and majority of trance tracks that try to hard or sound like old shit that went wrong

Posted by TRNG on May-10-2007 04:56:

HAHAHA yep yep, almost every track i hear nowadays has ripped off an OG track in one way or another, so lame

either that
or infinite reworks/redo's of emo garbage
trance music is about dancing and enjoying life, the exact opposite of what dem pussy rock bands represent... wake da fuk up!

He might be but I don't think either of you know me or what I do so to go throwing around adivce when you don't know the other person, espically about finances to me seems rude and to over step your boundries. No matter how much knowledge I have on a situation like that I would never tell someone how to spend there money.

Posted by SebG on May-10-2007 14:27:

The date sucks, friday is a bad for this, especially when it starts this early.

hmm tru tru this is really an option for July 13th since i don't have other plans that night... i *did* end up geting these tickets for $35 apiece after all

...soooo if i end up thinking "hmm, i rather go and do something else" that night, im sure i can end up selling them (the reason i got them during presale...keep it cheap!!!) its as simple as that.

for now there is something fun for that night

wow, where was i during that time? i definitely feel you though. my alternative has been to stick to events held during the week, where the music has been some of the best i've heard, yet... free admission, no overpriced drinks, no hour long lines, no vip, no special sections or service for celebs, and no one who doesn't know how to act. it'll be somethin' if i manage to set foot back in pacha for hawtin next month

That $10 for PVD was for a benefit party and the proceeds went to the victims of 9/11. Aside from that, made used to have good deals back at Arc like reduced admission for most nites on the message board list. I never remember paying more than $30 to get in there. Best DJs, best sound, best lighting, best vibe. Pretty much, BEST ERA. LOL.

As DJ Tek said earlier, ATB stands for (A Terrible Booking). BWHAAHAAHHAHAAHHAAHAHAHHAAA. Seriously, why is ATB coming back to Pacha do to another Made Event ??

Do we know the time frame this will occur in?

I'm too lazy to read through all these pages to see if that has been answered.

Posted by MixerAmir on May-23-2007 23:15:

actually 6-10. It opens at 4, but armin comes on at 6. but i heard 6-11, someone said that events can go on in public parks until 11, and they are saying 10 to save themselves. Im not sure about the accuracy of that.
