I said 100 times before they're negotiating for either Sander K or DJ Vibe...

How do you know? Why should we believe you?

Personally I hope they AREN'T negotiating for EITHER of those djs, I'd much rather see them bring someone a bit more interesting, someone who helped define the sound of 2007, you know?

But of course they wont do something like that, numbers numbers numbers

I would DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE if they brought Menno De Jong..
Even if it was ONLY him playing at an NYE event I would go see him instead of 10 other DJs playing elsewhere.

Bring Menno PLEAASE pleaaase please...

I'd say MENNO is the next Tiesto, popularity wise

DJ VIBE would be nice with stephan grondin! they always play 2gether @ stereo and they have the "Stereo Sound 001" double album on mile-end records 2gether. it would make sense. And VIBE never played a MASSIVE in montreal so i think it bring something new like all of you keep asking.

plz tell me which DJ help "define the sound of 2007 (if there's such a thing) " Vibe/grondin's night @ stereo (wich we are responsible for so my opinion might be a little bit ;-) )are always full and get good reviews. Also he just did a compilation called Stereo Sound 001 i think that should qualified has "defining the sound of 2007" no?

Anyways love all

Marc

but thats just it bro, grondin and vibe ALWAYS play stereo together. i don't wana speak 4 anyone but myself, but on NYE dude, i don't wana see the resident international DJs that play stereo (ie: victor, c&c ---> did they split btw? vibe, etc...) and plz do not get me wrong: i fkn loved grondin and vibe the 1st time i saw them spring 2006 i think. the 2nd time was meh...but thats neither here nor there. and yes i'll even agree that djs like vibe/grondin would be good for a NYE massive. BUTTTTTTTTTTT i dunno it's NYE, give us something like super duper special hehe...

artists that defined 2007? hmmmmm personally (only DJs, not producers): fanciulli, masiello, and fuck it i'll even say burridge cuz his new prods are FKN malade and every single set i listen to is just damn good swinging music. zabiela is in there too but i thought i'd narrow it down to 3 those 3 together (or 2 outta 3) at resolution 08 would have me paying a shit tonne of cash for my ticket cuz i'd wanna have that shit ASAfknP.

but ya sasha & diggers on NYE would be crazzzzzyyy lol but let's not get ahead of ourselves

keep up the good work btw, u and ur crew are doing mad events at stereo, so congrats

/end morning rant, sorry

+100000

another fresh booking would be Creator.. then BeB can go ahead and book its "ticket moving" trance dj and you've got what makes to be a decent night of beats.

Posted by Ravemontreal on Oct-04-2007 15:23:

The sound and DJs that defines 2007 is totally subjective regarding tastes, styles, popularity and so on...

It can range anywhere from Offer Nissim to Benni Benassi to Stephan Bodzin. Anywhere from trance, tribal, electro to minimal. It is a pointless debate.

A lot of artists that a really defining the actual and futur of music are not even on DJ mag's top 200. I have my personal favorites, and I am pretty sure most of them will not play at a massive in the next 3 years.

Massives are about what is POPULAR. That's why they are called massive, they aimed to please everyone. What is popular is often a few years late on what is really going on in terms of innovative artists that will create the next trend.

We are already lucky to have huge massive events with what I consider nice EDM artists and not TOP 40 radio hits. Listen to Mix 96, I guarantee it has nothing with the world of TA. And THAT'S popular. Lawler is definitly up to date and will be releasing monster tracks in the next months.

i agree

All i can say because i already know what the line-up will be is that THIS PARTY WILL KICK SOME SERIOUS ASS!

Posted by Spin Laden on Oct-04-2007 15:34:

it would be smart to book Grondin and Vibe, they've proven themselves in Montreal and have an established following; so in terms of a risk-reward scenario, no risk there.. all reward for BeB.

And Lawler, SVD have spun decent sets here and have their following too. So from a business standpoint, these bookings make a lot of sense so far, not only for us on the dancefloor and BeB, but for the djs as well. If we can't get anyone who hasn't played here before, get those who have and have spun consistently well here. Balenblanc still have their work cut out though, if they want to make this a perfect night.

/late morning rant
