thats awesome...and shes hot!!!!

1. tiesto
2. markus
3. beaver
4. deep voices
5. ferry

I'm more of a fan for harder beats, and ferry played too many melodic tracks. Caught an hour of Beaver's set and was surprised at how hard he rocked the party.

Deep voices didn't do much for me, markus tore it up and was topped only by tiesto. It was my first time hearing him live, but he definitely brought it hard.

The visual were freakin great. I'd say it ranks just below Noc 07's main stage visuals (esp. during the chem bros set). It would've been perfect with lasers aimed toward the ceiling or doing quick scans around the arena.

The youngins were definitely out in full force. For some reason I noticed them way more than at monster or other all age events..

Posted by drEamer on May-27-2008 01:02:

maybe u were looking for them more...Monster has wayyyyyy more kids than this had....just based on sheer numbers alone....16-17k compared to 25k overall attendance..

Tiesto OWNED!!! didnt see Beaver until i saw the tape yesterday....alot of older stuff which i can get down with....

Posted by roxb0x on May-27-2008 01:10:

I saw them when I was in the lobby waiting for my girlfriend to get through the checkpoint, so in that aspect I guess I was seeing them in broad daylight as opposed to the dark arena.

I'd be down to see him again when he comes to san diego next week, but my brain can't handle 3 major parties in a row.. (armin, pop, tiesto)

Does anyone know what Tiesto was playing when the big screen was showing a Pirate Ship that was slowing moving up and down? Got dam... I thought that song was completely amazing....

I had not been at Cow Palace since the Cyberfest years, and I forgot how big the main room was. I also realized that I still don't enjoy the venue though... haha....

I was really hating the puddles everywhere, especially the one that developed RIGHT behind me when Markus was on, 25 feet away from Markus!!! WTF... I kept stepping on them and almost falling... jeezus, if you're gonna puddle, go to the fuckin sides! you can't see shit from where you are anyway!

Icey was pretty good from what I caught... I went to the Hardcore room when i was lookin around, and it was actually nicely furnished with those ornament things from Lovefest AfterParty... that side of the Cow Palace was cold and dead... but it had an easily accessible bathroom!

Hey Ryan, do you have that jacket in a pouch that was being passed around by everyone? I left it with Lexxx & Skwallie in the seats then everyone left... haha, thats my old school rave jacket that's been around since 2002? I bring it with me for the nostalgia...Hey Ryan

Hey, I wasn't there, and assuming it may have been that track due to the swaying pirate ship in the background isn't at all an unreasonable deduction on my part.

POP was cool. saw a lot of people i havent seen in a while. sucks that it ended so early. markus' set was awesome but never in my life would i ever thought id see gouryella play. simply amazing! i partied until i literally couldnt move

What a weekend!

I didn't get a chance to post anything until right now, just got back from SF on Monday at 3am, and pretty much rested the whole day yesterday..

Anyhow, I thought it was one of the BEST rave of the year so far.. Markus' had a good set: Daydream, Perfect, Perspective Space (even though that was overplayed)... I was impressed at FC's, he was A LOT BETTER than the one in LA (FC in Concert). Opened the set with Into The Dark as expected, but he carried through with a lot of banging trance, Damn he even played some Psy!! Can someone ID the Psy-trance that he played? Tiesto... what can I say about Tiesto, he was just being Tiesto, and if I'm not mistaken he also played some Psy!!

And what's with 6AM Kyau & Albert? That song got played like so many many times... all good though hehe

Nice set up, like the lightings, good traffic control, inside the main stage wasn't as hot as Monster Massive Feel sorry for Tiesto, I would be pissed if I were him, didn't get to finish up my set... I bet he would've played some of the new Element of Life remixes!

Finally awake enough to report my weekend: SFO&PHX

Missed my flight to SF**, but I was able to catch another flight through LAX then on to San Fran, I arrived at about 8pm. Hopped in a cab at the airport, took 5 minutes outta my time to check in at the hotel, then off to Cow Palace. Markus and Ferry were top notch IMO, and the one hour Tiesto played: WOW! (He comes to Phoenix Jun2.) I haven't had a such a good night like this, in about 2 years. Thanks to Skills for throwing such a fantastic event, even with the power failure...the night was still most memorable! It was good to meet a few TA's at the end: SCG and newstape

I got to Ruby Skye about 3am, had a great time, woulda been better if I had known at least one person there tho. I left Ruby at 6:30am, walked back to the hotel, freshened up, checked out and caught a cab back to the airport. Back in Phoenix at 11am.

Still too excited to sleep, I waited for Markus Schulz to get into town. Myst was packed, for a Scottsdale club. Markus went on about 11PM. His set had as much energy as POP and the crowd was impenetrable!

Then it was on the the Markus Schulz afterparty in Phoenix. It was a far cry from the previous two events I had just been a part of. Hardly anyone showed up, Markus split after 90 minutes. I was wearing my etd.POP tee, he acknowledged that for good measure.

With that said, Markus said it best on the way out: "What the fuck happened to Phoenix? They used to flock to these events and now they're no where to be found. This was a huge let down."

**I had been at work since 3:30am Saturday morning, sitting at the airport between screaming kids and the lack of sleep, led to me missing my flight.

I took a beautiful 11 minute video of Ferry at POP, but have no where to upload it to yet.

great to be seeing so many positive reviews from LATAs and others from elsewhere. too often i think we SFTAs might be missing out on stuff elsewhere, but it looks like we have it pretty good here after all...

Yeah you do! I find myself wishing at times I lived in SF/LA, just to get to more events of your caliber. I shall return in the near future.
