Yes indeed ... same speed as this video.
(TBH I don't care about the speed, as long as it's "FREE" and delivery time is within 1 or 2 mins, I'm super happy.)

So I jailbroke my phone yesterday, again. (after updating to 2.2.1)

Spent more time figuring it out than I did last time, and now I seem to get it. My only issue is some things have been unstable; Cydia, Safari, Customize (which crashes immediately), BossPrefs, and a few others I can't remember right now.

Photos ran perfectly smooth before jailbreak, now scrolling through them seems really choppy.

I also got Installous, which was working without a hitch last night, but now it takes forever to load a blank page, nothing is happening. Anyone else have this issue?

Are there any recommended jailbreak apps I should get? what jailbreak apps do you guys have?

I haven't jailbroke 2.2.1 yet, until Yellowsnow works with a new baseband. Not going to touch it.

Which ver did you do? Ver 1 or Ver 2?

I heard the 2nd ver corrected a lot of errors.

http://blog.iphone-dev.org/

only get the jailbreak software from the Dev Team's site, lots out there ppl have placed a virus with.

Yup, that's where I got it from, I didn't trust anywhere else.

I have no need for unlocking my iPhone so I didn't load yellowsnow.

I used Quickpwn for Windows 225-2, is that what you mean by second version?

Although I currently use a BB 8900, i've had several first generation iPhones and always used ZiPhone to unlock/jailbreak them, and it worked quite well.

I've recommended it to friends, who use the iPhone 3G, and they have successfully unlocked/jailbroke stably as well. I do remember reading some ppl having problems with the Ziphone unlock, and although im sure this is probably true with all unlock/jailbreak methods, I have found it to be very good indeed, as well as easy to use.

Yeah that's the current ver. Try restoring it (under a new name) & jailbreaking it again.

You can't use Yellowsnow anymore, your baseband has been flashed to the new ver of (02.30.03)

Restore it (under a new name) to OEM state, if you still can't do shit with it, leave it alone and make an apt to see Apple. I know your not stupid, just reminding you NOT to bring in a jailbroken unit ... you'll be flagged as warrenty voided.

You should reboot your unit once a day at least. I'm alittle bit crazy though ... I reboot once every 3 hrs.

why?

Posted by Intangible on Feb-08-2009 01:16:

Also I'm having some major issue with itunes and downloading 2.2.1. Everytime it's just about to finish downloading (its at 246 mb/246) an error comes up saying "There was a problem downloading the iphone software for the iphone "Tara's iPhone". The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later."

It happens at the exact same time each time I try (I've tried at least 10 times).

Does anyone know what I'm suppose to do?? I feel like I've tried everything

PDA Phones are like computers ... you need to refresh the ram (memory) from time to time. You can get apps to "flush" the memory, but, I like rebooting more.

LOL WTF... even my Treo which I'm trying to replace only needs to be rebooted once or twice a week, and when it was new it was like once a month tops. Rebooting every 3 hours is just balls.

Hahahah, maybe if your phones had a proper phone OS like Symbian S60 with proper memory management you wouldn't have to do that

E71 supremacy

Yeah and when I ask questions about the E71 you ignore 'em. I'm beginning to doubt your sincerity here.

I must've missed them... Let me check the mobile thread and I'll answer.

Posted by E2EK1EL on Feb-08-2009 01:33:

It's wise to reboot once a day, not needed though. I just like rebooting in general.

What!? You liken them to computers, well I've been running Vista on this machine since I think October or November and haven't had to reboot once. Rebooting once a day just to be on the safe side takes me back to the days of Windows 95... no modern OS should require such babysitting.

Was in here that I asked... question was about the PDA and office functions. And the price.

Edit: And just thought of one other question - can you put standard MP3 ringtones or do you need to go through the stupid Rogers/Fido services?
