Thanks much. That song and 102 others I've written are signed with RCM, Inc. (Real Cool Music). The dance remix will be completed this week and there is a shorter radio mix and another version with Dominick Demieri on guitar. The studio sent him a copy and he liked it so much he offered to play guitar for the bridge. He's been playing for longer than most of us have been alive. He toured with Jimi Hendrix, The Monkees, KISS and co-wrote songs with Davy Jones.

I apologize that I don't know all the screen names here - I assume I know you at the club and/or you buddylisted me on MySpace?

On another note, how many of us are going to LoveFest this year? I think this will be my fifth or sixth year. As usual, I'm staying at the Chancellor hotel near Powell and Polk - rooms are booking up fast but I think I got mine for around $140 under their "repeat customer" discount. The hotel is kind of neat - it's almost 100 years old, has excellent service, friendly staff, good food nearby....but .....it only offers rooms with one double bed or two single beds. The rooms are not tiny, but they'r not exactly Hilton-size either.

Hang on Trinity, did you say you first went to Circus in 1980?

Yes. CIRCUS has kept me young.

This is a note of tribute to Charles Torrence. I did not know him personally, but I've read nothing but good things about him. I give thanks for people such as him and extend my best wishes to his family. I heard he often greeted people with a warm hug and a smile....which reminds me of.....

Malia, Don, Shawn, Freddy, Michael Mitchell, Craig, Laredo, Trinity, Sergio, and several others at Circus - their positive energy is half the reason I go and is why I keep coming back. The other half is not just about me having a GREAT time (yes, I too claim the "G" word) - but it's about watching everyone else have a great time. Because life is not only too short for me, it's too short for all of us and I'm glad to see as many people as possible make the most of it. That's why you'll usually find me in the back of the room watching everyone have a "great" time. It makes the night twice as great for me.

And a special thanks to Malia - for all the great pictures, vids and warm hugs and smiles. Keep 'em coming, because it's part of what makes Circus our second home.

Peace,
Chris

Trinity - You don't look a day over 29 to me - maybe it's the lighting at Circus, but most likely it's your young energy. I hope we're still there in 50 years - ya never know with age-reversal technology - and if that doesn't work, I'll turbo-charge my Hover-round wheelchair.

Finally getting around to my review. The side room tribute to Charles Torrence was hosted/DJ'd by our very good friends and they did a beautiful job. Had us running from room to room. Bob closed out the night with a breathtaking track. A very fitting conclusion to the night. Great job Josh, Bob and the rest.

I was feeling pretty much all the main room DJs which hasn't happened in a while. Norin & Rad had the place going off. Ignore the haters, everyone I talked to told me how much they loved them. However, when Steve came out, he just destroyed the place. I mean really. Just a perfect, driving but not too hard set. And damn is he a crazy mo fo lol. I really enjoyed Vander & Thomas's set too. First time seeing them and I look forward to catching them again.

Circus really went all out. The keep stepping up the game and its getting impressive. They brought in some extra bass bins that really shook the place. The led wall was very cool as was the additional lighting and multi color laser. One of the best club setups I've seen period. About the only that would make it better would be some kryo but the would be $$$ in a room that big. Was really much more like a massive. And it works so well in that huge room. Plus, being so spacious, you have room to move about. It was hotter than hell in there though. Kept looking for the vents.

Here is a video I took chillin' in the back of the club at the end of the night during Vander & Thomas's set. The video straight off the camera really shows the lighting much better. Youtubes compression pretty much hides the LED wall. Really looks pretty crappy thanks youtube.

I went nuts when I heard this song. It is one of my favs right now. I was right up front for the entire song (just a tad left of the DJ).

Cold Blue - "Mount Everest"
(I'm not sure if it one of the remixed versions)

Right on! I was going to ask for an ID of that track. Loved it.

And if that isn't obvious enough click here

I thought so but dismissed it in my mind because Ronski Speed is not that big IMO. Last time I saw him at Circus his set was all over the place and his set at Club Heaven didn't impress me either. Although he's not my cup of tea I'm sure Circus will pull a very decent crowd that night though.

Ronski not that big? - you've got to be kidding. He has been around for over a decade as one of the top producers and DJ's. He may not have thename that the dutch guys have, but I like the fact he's not over exposed and hasn't flipflopped between styles in that period. Havn't seen him DJ live for probably 5 years so can't comment on how he plays in a club.

I wasn't really commenting on him being big or not, although I do think his name is pretty well known. I just came across the date while looking for a tracklist to his podcast. I have never seen him but do like his podcast and sets I have downloaded. Guess we will see.

Posted by technofriik on Aug-26-2009 17:45:

All I meant was his name isn't big enough to make it a "secret" IMO (opinion based on my experience working in the scene). I know most trance heads know who he is but when a club advertises a gig as a secret I expect to see a bigger name than his, that's all

Posted by in2muzikk on Aug-26-2009 21:23:

He's very big, especially when I stand next to him!

The last time Ronksi was at Circus in January it was pretty packed. It was a really good night... actually, probably one of the best nights I can remember.

Yeah, in the Circus Upcoming Events thread, it's listed as Hostel Takeover, so thought maybe it's a night for foreign tourists on a budget...
