They're spoiled brats who will say the Lakers "suck" just because they didn't win 3 championships in a row.

I don't hate the Lakers by any means. If anything, I'm pretty apathetic toward the NBA in general, I just root for the Hawks when I watch. But Laker fans seem to mostly be the ultimate bandwagon fans, the only difference is the Lakers win so often that the bandwagon lasts a while.

this was fucking awful

I cannot believe what I witnessed tonight.

Here's the problem with the Mavs winning, though - it brings happiness to Mark Cuban's life. And no one on Earth wants that.

Mavs in 5.

When is everybody going to realize that the Lakers are the most overrated team in the NBA?

3/4 of the teams left in the East would probably beat the Lakers in a 7 game series.

When LA stops being the 2nd largest media market.

But seriously, they HAVE won 2 championships in a row. You gotta give them credit for that, even in the parity-less NBA.

I hate when people make those kinds of arguments. It's like the Yankees fans who babble on about how many rings they have. The past is the past. The Lakers aren't nearly as good this year as they were last year, and I think even Lakers fans are coming to realize it at this point.

Mark Cuban is the man.

Yeah, Renzo. Sentence fragments and shit.

Well, I guess you're right, that by now in the season people should have curbed their enthusiasm for them a bit.

That said, if teams from NYC, Boston, Philly, or LA are even halfway decent, the media will make them sound incredible because of viewership ratings.

Seriously, a MEM/OKC vs. ATL finals is the media's worst nightmare right now. :P

The Lakers are losing because of two reasons - Pau Gasol has been lackluster and the lack of production from their bench [12 points tonight].

He's a whiney little bitch. Sorry, bro.

His in-arena antics are amusing. His outside-arena acumen is truly impressive. Best owner in professional sports IMO.

3 reasons. Dirk is the fucking man.

As an owner of a professional team, I have zero problems with him. I mean, what do I care who owns the Mavs?

The problem lies in that he whines more than a 13 year-old girl on her 1st day of school.

Small price to pay for having a brilliant billionaire who loves his team more than anything else in charge of a sports franchise.

Posted by LAdazeNYnights on May-05-2011 06:13:

i don't think you can really count dirk as a reason why the lakers are losing.
dirk has been great..but we all knew he would be. the lakers knew that dirk would be an issue for them, but they didn't expect Bynum to be a nonentity in game 1. they didn't expect a poor performance from pau in game 2, and the probably didn't expect their shooting from behind the arc to be abysmal. they certainly didn't expect to see dallas excel at keeping them off-balance with a small, quick offense.
