Mr Mystery is smiling, and there's no neckbeard on Nou. Not to mention he could never be in a group photo unless it took places in his Mum's basement.

When was that picture taken? Looks like no one has aged. No blinking such a hard thing for those large group shots.

Thanks, yeah she's a trooper. I wasn't gonna wait it out, mom + nurse intuition told me something funky was brewing. Plus I don't want to have to keep her home from daycare again due to recurring fevers.

It's crazy everything that has happened in a year. He's basically a toddler now; he walks to get where he's going, he hasn't had a bottle in weeks, constantly babbling and talking, and our 1 nap a day is sometimes only 30 minutes long. Now I look at pics from this time last year and want to cry because of how little he was. Makes me wish I savored those times even more!

Isn't it wild? I look at pics from a year ago every day, lol. Seems so far away. *sheds a tear*

we just ventured into the walking everywhere stage over the last week...it happened fast!

Planning on getting a balance bike for 18 months. still have a few months.

Oh yeah, can't wait for warm weather and new toys!

We're going to try to #2 when I return to the States in the summer. Unfortunately, no way for me to avoid being over 40 when #2 arrives.

If and when that happens, my two will be 2 years apart.

For the group - it's extremely rare that I visit TA, but for some reason, I decided to hop on today and I find all this parenting chatter. It's great to hear everyone is doing well and glad to know you each have that whole family thing going on now too.

Crazy to think that we were on here around 15 years ago (and earlier) when TA was in its prime.

Zewadski! Awesome! I need to stalk you on FB and catch up on things. Age doesn't matter! The wife and I talked about age and parenting a bit. We concluded we would not enjoy parenting as much if the kids came earlier in life. If you want 2 go get it!


and judas, our little girl had a fever on last Sunday and kicked it by Weds. But it came back Friday and today it was spiking pretty high. Motrin has been amazing, but we weren't sure if we should wake her in the middle of the night to give her more...bottom line doc said let her sleep...it is much better for her. who would have thought. On to the Dr tomorrow.

Same thing at our house last week. Two days after finishing antibiotics she was sick again (rather, STILL sick - clinic doc treated/prescribed the wrong thing). Figured it was just another cold, but the recurring fever told me something else was up. This kid is tough as nails which makes her hard to assess - maintains a great appetite and never appears in pain. Turns out she had a "severe infection" all sinus related, so she got a new script to cover ear + sinus. Two doses of antibiotics and she was a new child! Thanks, science!

I dunno if it hurts or helps to have nurse brain as a mother, lol. Kids are sure way different than adults when it comes to how they present with illness, especially when they're too young to tell you exactly how they're feeling.

Hope your little one feels better, Boomer! Sucks seeing your kid out of sorts.

Yay science! and boo fevers. I think the nurse thing helps. We have useless psych degrees so this kiddo is out of luck! Hoping she is all good now.

Ours was so hot and out of sorts this morning. Then it takes like 30 mins for the motrin to kick in...then she is playing like normal. But that morning cry session. If she doesn't kick it today it is time to go back to the dr. Hoping she kicks all the sickness soon. It is wearing me and the pregnant wife out!

On the good side we interviewed an au pair and think we might pick her. Will be nice getting an extra set of hands for 45 hours a week!

I hear you. We love having our regular kid back!

Sweet deal on the au pair! When I was looking for home daycare to cover the gap before montessori, there was so much crap out there I reached out to some nannies in utter panic, worrying we'd get stuck sending our child to some dump home daycare run by a lazy fatty. Lol.

So many new things happening! L got his car seat turned around and moved to the passenger side. Having him facing the opposite direction in the center of the car sucked ass to get him in the seat and plus his knees were all bent because he didn't have enough room facing that way. Regulations are all unclear but either way he's big enough to face the front now.

More teeth coming in all the time. My wife also takes him to the childcare nursery at our local health club and gets in a good workout. Win win for both parties, he gets to have some contact with other children and play, and she gets to destress and exercise. Positives all around.

We are still rear facing in a convertible car seat. although now her legs are so long her feet are on the seat of the car, not the car seat...that was weird to word.

And I need to check on the weight and height of ours, but I think she still has a while. We are thinking through having 2 car seats in the back soon. Gonna get crowded.

General rule of thumb and safest way is �as long as possible, until they reach the highest weight or height allowed by their seat.�

Up here there are specific laws per province, but rule of thumb way actually seems safest. Our sweet babe is tiny, will be rear facing until her 2nd birthday no doubt.

happy friday parents! We have family pics this weekend. We got some Easter specific ones and they are soooo freaking amazing. Now my wife is planning a bunch of photo sessions. We were never into family pictures, and we do not even have any on the walls. But that is about to change.

Here's hoping for some awkward family photos to emerge.....

And is it the weekend yet? We invited most all of our small friend circle over on Sat for a play date. Should have twin 7month old boys, a 2 month old, 3 month old, a 15 month old, and our little now 17 month old! Them lil infants are going to get poked a bunch

Secretly it's so we can break out all of our old newborn stuff to prep for the second one. We are so lazy getting everything ready this time around.

Oooh fun!

I keep running into people I know at our kid's school, which is super awesome. My husband saw an old buddy of mine picking up his daughter one day, and he said they have lots of kid friendly parties in the summer with the old gang. Nice to reconnect with old friends now that we all have kids!
