I think the fact that 60% of people don't believe the official story to be more than enough evidence to lay the blame completely and absolutely on pkc.

Thermal expansion can be devastating in ridgid structures. if a member is un restrained, its relatively harmless but the more resistance the member encounters (ie being securely fixed at both ends), that elongation is converted into internal stress. given a ridgid enough system and a significant temperature increase, this could prove catastrophic.

point in case (from the opposite end of the spectrum) the recent collapse of the ski lift at whistler was caused by a very small layer of water that penetrated into a welded joint. when the temperature dropped, the water froze and the ice actually blew the weld out.

Oddly enough you compare a ski lift to WTC7 but when another 50 story building just like WTC7 burns for days and does not crumble down to the ground the critics suddenly become silenced.

This is a what a real fire looks like,

The official story and it's supporters are not doing a good enough job convincing anyone.

He did. But in his world, insurance policies determined which buildings fell..

I write it in technical language, you can't comprehend what im saying.... I dumb it down for you and give you a real world example (one that you wont try and blame on the CIA), and yet you still fail to get the point...... its like arguing with a kid who has down syndrome..... i keep talking, and all you want is your baseball

Posted by colonelcrisp on Feb-18-2009 14:53:

Furthermore,

To say a weld joint in a ski lift failing due to frost heave is similar to the effects of thermal expansion on a structural steel joint, wouldn't be totally out of line, some differences, but the fundamentals remain the same.

Now in your case, comparing two infinitely more complex systems (might i add that you have zero formal training in structural analysis, material sciences, or common sense for that matter)and drawing any conclusions from that would be the same as doing a clinical drug study on one person and applying the findings the whole population.... Ie: Man A has prostate cancer, therefore the entire world will have prostate cancer, no matter if you are a man or a woman......

1. A freezing joint on a ski lift compared with a 50 story building on fire.

2. A 50 story building on fire compared to a 50 story building with raging fires.

I going to have to go with option 2 no matter how smart you think and say you are.

The 9/11 commission completely left WTC7 out of their report. The only building to ever collapse at practically free fall speed due to office fires in history. Countless witnesses present at ground zero heard the explosions going off, Larry Silverstein the lease holder of the building said on air "we decided to pull it" (WTC7) but you want to compare a freezing joint on a ski lift to a 47 story building?

I believe you do not comprehend to well even if you are an engineer.

Got any more youtube videos you can pull out of your ass to try to prove absolutely nothing?

comparing the failure of a weld joint between two structural steel components due to thermal expansion vs a joint failure in a structural steel structure due to heat expansion / yield strenght loss due to excessive heat is very comparable...

at no point did i say i was comparing a ski lift to a 50 story building... pull your head out of your ass....

and as usual.... you fall back to youtube to make up for your lack of understanding.....

i love how you say this as if its relevant to anything. WTC7 got its own report, fuckhead.

just another piece of work you wont read obviously, and have virtually no chance of understanding anyway.

oh, and please keep arguing structural engineering with colonel, it keeps us all vastly amused!

I posted that video to show that Larry Silverstein slipped up, he went on air and said "we decided to pull it". (world trade building 7)

As for the insurance policy,

Apr 26, 2001 The Port Authority, authorized by Lewis M. Eisenberg, (left Goldman Sachs after affair) decided to privatize the WTC, and lease it to Silverstein Properties. (In 1995, Pataki ran for Governor promising he would help privatize the WTC).

Jul 24, 2001 Six weeks before 911, Silverstein Properties and Westfield America, Inc. (retail part) took control of a 99 year, $3.2 billion lease of the WTC.

Silverstein was the 2nd place bidder. Vornado Realty was the 1st place bidder. He withdrew when they wouldnt agree to a shorter lease period. This deal was the richest real estate deal in NYC history, and yet a bargain for Silverstein.

Three Interesting Issues:

1)The buildings were immediately insured for $3.5 billion, and covered for terrorist attacks.

2)Explicitly included in the agreement was that Silverstein and Westfield were given the right to rebuild the structures if they were destroyed.
http://www.realestatejournal.com/re...3-starkman.html

3)After 911, he sued for $7.2 (double the original amount he insured the buildings for) claiming two separate incidents. In the end, he was paid approximately $4.5 billion, as the judge agreed, in the end, that it was two separate occurrences.

Yes it did and NIST laid the blame on thermal expansion. Thanks went over it and the 7 year report in full of shit. Next.

Yes but these weld joints are present in very different conditions, one is on a ski lift under cold temperatures and the other is under heat isolated in a high rise building.

Comparing buildings which are nearly identical and of the same conditions (fire) would be a better assessment. Of course none of the following below collapsed and crumbled to the ground like WTC7. World Trade Building 7 is the only building to ever do so in history.

The One Meridian Plaza Fire

The Windsor Building Fire

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Fire

If I ever saw a jump to conclusion, this is it. Once again, using giant leaps of logic, to prove...nothing...

I was comparing two MICRO causes (ie the effects of extreme heat or extreme cold on a weld) also known as failure modes..... ie if i break a toothpick on top of mount fuji, and i break a toothpick in death valley california, even though the geographic location was different, the failure mode was identical (the toothpick broke)

now your trying to say MACRO causes are the same....

building A and building B are both on fire, building A collapses...... therefore Building B should collapse as well....

Building A and Building B are not the same. Two welds (while there are many different types of welds) are inherantly the same. Structures on the other hand are very different, as i have tried to explain to you over and over and over and over again...... The only common point between your comparisons is the word fire..... by that logic, because all buildings are built on the planet earth, they should all behave exactly the same.....
